A new song that Anette owns and interpretates better than Tarja. I really enjoy NW with Tarja's voice, but here, there is nothing Anette needs to prove.

She's -at least for me.- not a very good singer and doesn't have a good control of her voice, but she's a very good interpreter and she surpass to many who owns the technique but don't transmit what Anette does.

Anette nailed it! First two minutes and I found myself allready crying. I thought, that this is one of those songs that Anette couldn't sing. I was so wrong. Anette is really good with these old songs. But I've noticed that she sometimes forgets lyrics. Like in Kaisaniemi 26.6.2008. There was something wrong with Slaying the dreamer, but the voice. I can't discrape how happy I was when she sang that song. And people were cheering for her, 'cause she did so good job with the singing part

And Anette yet again proves that Tarja is NOT untouchable. I am as big a fan of Tarja era Nightwish as any, but the reality is, that Taarja's voice was no more suited to every track than Anettes is.

Great perfromance by Anette. I got their Wacken 08 also, and given time she has really come to take control of many "Classic" Nightwish tracks.

It has not much, or completely nothing to do with Jonny Depp. It has more to do with their song The Islander. And I guess you know that he calls himself sort of the Captain of Oceansoul. Thats why the boat is wearing the name Oceansoul.

And! Tuomas had this 'Jonny Depp look' long time before anybody even knew that there was gonna be a Pirates of the Caribbean part 1.

No offence, but I didn't like the song before... With Tarja it was the one and only song, I find a bit boring. But then Anette was goint to sing it... AND I F*CKING LOVED IT :D

By the way... I am going to the gig in Hartwall Areena in Helsinki. No seats, and sitting in front of the door @ 5 AM... So I can stand right in front of the stage. Can't wait!

She sings so much better when she doesn't have to shout to make her voice audible (like in Ever Dream, for example). Here her voice sounds somehow soaring and ethereal and there are nuances in it. She reminds me of Sharon den Adel now, instead of some harassed girl trying to become American Idol.

this is the first song of old era played on the original tuning right? i mean, before marco joined, emppu used to play in E standard, but when they play songs from that era with Anette, they drop them down a whole step, but not in this one. Cool!
