i can never decide with PPL. im 20, grew up in the country (although i dont like country music except for willie nelson, conway twitty, and johnny cash) i can never decide whether PPL is country or rock haha
@XxLetsTalkGamesxX This tune is country music at it's best and my favorite PPL tune. The debut was more country I think. When I bought Bustin' Out on vinyl many moons ago, I was so excited with Jazzman but was disappointed with most of the rest. Jazzman reminded me of the debut...they lost their way with the rest of it.
Hi penelopedia, sorry to correct you, but Jazzman was written by another Chicago folksinger, and club owner, Ed Holstein, but you had the right idea.......I love the Chicago "folk scene", especially back in the late 1960's.......Quiet Knight, Earl of Oldtown, Somebody Else's Troubles, Wisefools Pub, etc........Lotta great music came outta there, Steve Goodman, John Prine, etc................
After buying Bustin' Out it took a year to track down the first eponymous album which I bought second hand- it was damaged on "Country Song". Took another 25 years to get a decent copy- now both are released on a double CD! That's got to be cheating! Cheating can be good, sometimes!
"Bustin Out," greatest album of all time. Bar none. "Sgt. Peppers," "All Things Must Pass," "Highway 61," all are only runner ups. This, the opener to the album, is a stunner.

My old PSX-6 turntable put some miles on playing this one. Remember when stylus pressure was critical to vinyl life?
