@KHGodoflard 1. Pal Park, which i believe is only on Platinum version, is a new route behind your home which has unlocked.

2. to get a shiny instantly, one most either: A. be very, very, very, very (X1000) lucky, or B. Cheat

otherwise, chances are you ain't getting a shiny.

@KHGodoflard that's right. i heard somewhere that its a one in some-thousand chance of finding one. its easier to find one in platinum, as i've found at least 30 using the pokeradar. but that's the only legit way to find one without days of brushing through the gardens left and right if you want to know how to use the pokeradar correctly, just ask Dawn, she always knows what to say.

Actually, PAL Park is also available in Diamond and Pearl.

And if you use your Poke Radar and (this is very rare) you see a yellow flickering part in the grass, its a shiny or a rare pokemon.
