My younger brother graduated from there in 2010. They really did add metal detectors, multiple cops on duty at all times, and bars everywhere. All the prison like appointments of a "modern" school. There were many actual gang fights, and it had a 40% drop out rate and 5% entered college. 65% hispanic, 20% black, and almost 10% white. It works!

@synjerome the point is that mixing ethnicities in schools won't help - if the children are troubled - no matter the ethnicity - problems will start. Since immigrants are often more troubled (due to social problems, nothing to do with ethnicity) simply trying to mix them up creates tension, hate and segregation at the school. We need to fix the problem with the social statuses, not create diversity at schools. It will come naturally when we dont have ghettos filled with immigrants.

The white one was by a lower class redneck community, and the black was by a "middle class" black community. At the black school, all the "youths" were loud, constantly fighting, or dancing around to a new rap song they heard.I was known as the "bitch whiteboy".

@Fuuin As is the "jacket of status justification". Since the abolition of slavery, blacks have generally fallen under a lower economic status. I'm not saying that blacks aren't capable of succeeding, I'm using economic status as an example that blacks must overcome more than a white person. While there are many people from minority groups that make it big, many many more from the majority make it big. It's easy to accuse others of laziness and self pity, when you're the one given a head start.

I went through the school busing thing when the south was in the process of desegregation.Volunteers were going door to door warning everyone's parents that their kids were going to have to go schools with blacks and Mexicans.The plan was to bus minorities to white schools and whites to minority schools. It wasn't as bad as everyone said it was going to be. We got along just fine.Only about 20% of students were bused.

Black's don't know how to act in school. I've been to a majority white school and a majority black school. The white one was by a lower class redneck community, and the black was by a "middle class" black community. In the white one everybody was behaved, polite, and anytime I saw someone acting up it was usually one of the few black students. At the black school, all the "youths" were loud, constantly fighting, or dancing around to a new rap song they heard.I was known as the "bitch whiteboy".
