This is the best scene in a movie that delivers on every single scene. Obviously this is the scene where the story turns in Everett's, Delmar's, Pete's, and even Pappy's favor. It's iconic today, and 50 years from now this story and scene will hold up. Absolutely entertaining, brilliant, and one of the best scenes ever. Love it. How can you not?

This story is loosely based on "Homer's Odyssey". Homer (a Greek poet) was born about 850 BC. So if a story can last for 2500 years plus; like you, I believe that it will continue for a bit longer yet :)

@johnpetermalcolm Yes,I was aware of what it's based on, loosely beign the operative word. I read it in grade school like most people. But I was talking about this specific adaptation by the Coen brothers set in the 30's (ie when they hard automobiles, dapper dan, and vinyl records). So, if my use of "story" for 'adaptation' was confusing, maybe this clarifies it.

saw this movie in school because we read the odyssey and it relates to it and whatever but it acually isnt that bad of a movie for a school one. i loved there singing scenes and pete and delmar were so funny. pete turned into a toad lol delmar! good movie 3.5 out of 5.
