hey brett thanks a lot for these videos (and website of course). one question: why do you recommend this exact assignment of the plucking fingers. i have gotten so used to the one you show in the your beginner video on fingerpicking (T-->4th, I-->3rd, M-->2nd, R-->1st), and it seems to be working just as well. cheers
@letitsnowization great question! Either finger position works well. It's good to mess around with both. I chose to use this position for this blues fingerpicking pattern because it's common to alternate the bass notes with your thumb in the blues. In this way, it's a bit more intuitive to pluck the lowest C string on the ukulele (second to top string in standard tuning) with your thumb.
I've tried so many other uke tutorials, and I ALWAYS come back to you. You are literally teaching me to play the ukulele. Best tutorial on fingerpicking on the net. Thanks!!!
@inputcatchynamehere you can learn a lot! If you find my videos helpful, you might check out my more in-depth video course called Ukulele Strumming Tricks. You can find it on UkuleleTricks [dot] com.
love you and your videos brother! Peace!
