KF wing in the hole for the fuse on the leading edge. Maybe a radius milled on the corners of this square hole will help. A doubler would probably be overkill. They last a good while regardless, these coroplast designs take a severe beating and come back for more. Interesting that you are "old school" and glide test. I am old school also, learned on the Goldberg, Jetco & and Comet kits. (free flights of course)
I was looking at this plane yesterday, hanging in my basement. Never got to fly it yet, we had a bad summer (lots of wind and rain), and about 30 inches of snow in the last 2 weeks...I can hardly wait until spring! I have 3 planes ready for a maiden flight!
@parrotpilot well if you have snow add skies if you get an idea how to make em plz make a video couse i have 2 playes rady im a biggener i have a 9ch radio programbal and a brushless motor and one with piptral thx nice work
My Gnat employed the 1" square tubing pruned from a TV aerial. This is very light/stiff tubing.
Ran 2 1/2" (2) nylon bolts thru the horizontal stab,
thru the tube, threaded into the flutes in the vertical stab. Made a poly skid main gear, with lightening holes, and tapped the skid to receive nylon bolts securing the poly engine mount to the tubing. Used an ASP .12 , 8/3 Master airscrew. 2 oz Hayes tank,
Thanks. Funny at the same time...McCain billboard and a clearance sign! I did some glide testing and found the CG for level flight to be between 32 and 36%! Quite a wide margin, should be fun. The job? Who needs to work, just cuts into my RC time! (Oh yes, there's that money thing...)
