  • I love this i have it "so loud" i sure hope my neighbours are enjoying the toe tapping rhythm that is slowly consuming me.... Lol

  • You don't coook much better than this, folks!

Musical farts, from pot tarts, indeed!

Perfect example of how Jerry played off of Weir's rhythm line.

  • Jerry's licks are the greasiest. They're like little musical farts.

  • Stayed in Oregon for this one and waited for Seattle...air -cooled VW Buses and Las Vegas are not a nice mix.

  • what a dreadful mix. You can barely hear Jerry

  • really makes beer taste good

  • I had EVR'YTHNG tak'n away by an angry, evil cop&his hired henchmen after this show. My nice canvas bag, ev'rythng I had gather'd, my flipp'n AIRPLANE tix! I had to chase him dwn and beg for that back! "IM so sick of YOUpeople" he was seething w/anger. His unlv thugs just wnted to pound me. Ya, I had shrts but he swooped in & grabb'd me outtof monster shakedwn. The show was so ON and I was on a beautiful journey. I wept like a ragdoll on my buddy's shoulder. This guy was the face of the devil....

  • Bob Weir always reminded me of Peter North,uh in the face that is.

  • This was the last time I had the honor and privilege of seeing Bear live before he had to go. I shared the experience with close friends I had, and new friends made; Ice broken with the passing of a pipe; Sweet aroma of hash, a friendly hello. I may have drank too much beer, thoughts of water lost to the rapture of the day.

The POUNDING headache later, a trivial price to pay for the joy that filled my soul.

    The memories left to cherish.

DMB started it's climb to 1my all-time favs here too

  • I was there. Hot fricken wknd. It was Vegas in June, we knew the stakes. Good times!. Traffic opened. Winwood was del fuego. I'll never forget watching Jerry leaning on an amp rocking out to Dear Mr. Fantasy. He was a fan...just like us.

  • When the Dead were on (like they were that night, evidently), they were AMAZING. As tight as one of Mikey's drums.

  • This song is sooo good it brings tears to my heart and 3rd eye.. what a great blend of coarse, down 7 dirty theme & words (whiskey/ stealin' women, etc) and ethereal notes!

  • headphones literally came off my head

  • Slide Guitar is sounding very good.

  • Preacher man call me a sinner, but his little girl call me a saint.... yessa

  • Yeah well....

  • cool even bluesier version

  • Jerry wore faded black Tshirts that looked blue under the stage lights.

  • I miss traveling with them, the music, the relationships-I hope thats what heaven is like. Good music, food, art, and people all lovin eachother

  • DITTO!

  • @caerphillykid, ah the ole blue shirt.

    RIP Jerry, we miss you.

  • Doctor called me crazy! heh.. dont they all??? : )

  • In a remote part of the world, where the Dead never shone their lovelight in person, I met an American tonight with a wide beam as he recalled having seen them at Soldier Field (wherever and whenever that may have been). I think he said Jerry was wearing his blue shirt that night, whatever that might mean.

  • Someone asked me the other day if I'd ever seen the Grateful Dead ... I just smiled, and we passed each other. Later, girlfriend asked me, "What was that all about ?". Again.... I just smiled..... and said, "You've never seen them. Never mind." ;-)

  • Bob has always done some super fine slide parts, but he truly shines in this tune

  • I like the spit at 1:23.

  • On of my favs from the old days. It was written by Noah Lewis, was recorded on January 30, 1928 in Memphis, Tennesse by Cannons Jug Stompers

  • great stuff those were the days

  • Commenting on another You Tube Thread>>>Robert Weir's precise and meaningful rhythm guitar work is underrated and unnoticed...Just watch him. He is Awesome!

  • You know that feeling when you are at a Dead show and Phil's Bass is just shaking your body to the core? And you are just flailing around and everything is just so RIGHT? WOW! THis is so cool!

  • Is Bruce Hornsby on the Death Watch?

  • T for Texas

Yeah and it's T for Timbuktu

    T for Texas

Yeah and it's T for Timbuktu

    T for totally awesome

Because the Dead know what to do!

Vince Welnick is so great, and I love Bobby's Daisy Dukes! LOVE THE DEAD!

  • I have Vince's lucky crystal rock he always put on his organs and keyboards

  • how did you get it?

  • My dad had a business where he loaned his organ to bands that didn't want to bring their own around when they are touring, so he met a lot of famous musicians. So after Jerry died, Vince continued touring playing the Dead's stuff, so he came to town and rented my dad's organ. My dad said he was a real jerk. Was REALLY drunk and threatened to destroy the organ a couple times. After he left, he left a big crystal rock that he put on the organ. So my dad kept it, and gave it to me.

  • that is kind of funny.

  • smoke it before it go's bad, ha ha ha

  • haha I don't think I can its a cyrstal rock

  • he looks like dick

  • bob spit on me!

  • its amazing how he changed the song that much from the cannon's jug stompers version

  • Any Soldier Field or Rosemont Horizon in Chicago?

  • fantastic!

  • RiP Vince Welnick, a very underestimated talent, that sadly went to waste. Damn you, you haunting Dead Keyboarding legend, it took the best keyboarders!!

Although Jeff Chimenti is doing allright in the recent "Other One/Dead" reunions himself!

  • The Haunting Keyboarding seat of the Dead Claimed:

Pigpen, Godcheaux, Mydland, and slowly caught up with Welnick. So sad.

"Yet The Music Never Stopped!" :D!!!

  • the very best of the dead

    great stuff

just look at weir get shit done right

  • the road warriors.

  • i should ask more shows. I have seen the others from Vegas.

  • 10 rows back in front of Jerry at this show. Thanks for the post. Video and sound are awesome.

    More like this?

  • Anybody remember how hot it was at these shows. I remember during the day in Vegas it was like 118 degrees and out at the silver bowl it was 105 when the sun went down. Crazy time. I will never forget these show and I saw quite a few.. Peace

  • I remember driving in from Colorado and at 9:30pm as we crossed into Nevada, the sun was going down and we saw a temp sign that said 114. I walked the strip for a mile at 121. It was ridiculous, but it added to it all.

  • Are You kiddin me? Jerry has some nice Licks? My skin is crawlin and i'm breakin out in a

    fancy dance!!

  • Good funky stuff....the older versions of mingle has more pace to it but this is still cool.

  • I almost cry for a chance to see Jerry in the mid 1980s again

  • Listen to Gus Cannon

  • lol you dont see jerry in shorts very often.killer tune.

  • out on the road today, i saw a dead head sticker on a cadillac

  • Give it to me, Bobby!

  • yanniz beyaz atlet pek gitmemis ya:)

  • Grateful Dead ancora molto in forma

  • Rock on!

  • Bob is the Rock and the band new it all the way to the top. He is a phenominal guy and a creative artist. Jerry was the uniqueness and Bob was the solidness that held those sounds together, I miss Pig Pen. Thanks for all of these great posts ccdw0404. Really great stuff.

  • and what do you do with your hate? destroy? hurt? have any feelings? then you should be able to tell by now your anger will betray you, in your weakest feelings are your strongest fears, you hate you live you die , we love we live we last

  • my number one occupation...is stealing women from their men...yea man

  • Man... Blues is a rock. A mountain, that only few group of chosen is let to climb on top. Greatful Dead was one of the chosen. Blues is a thing that moves your heart, when your sad, let you fly when you're happy, blues is everywhere!

  • I was at this show... for the later years it was pretty smokin'. The two things I remember after all these years from this particular song are Jerry's background rhythm work and Vince's surprising organ solo. I think this concert should be released as a DVD.

  • i hate u 2

  • Where? Date?

  • 6-26-94

    Vegas

  • ok -you replied before me i see (around 8 months ;-)

  • las vegas i believe -date in the title...

  • A ot of people bashed on Vince, and I really never understood why. I thought he blended quite smoothly with the band. And as shown above, the man could jam.

  • yeah, and sadly, his recent passing only underscores your comment
