I loved how Rory used the flanger, enough to add nice textures to the sound but no too much to take anything away from the chords. It's great also how he never played a song the same way twice.
Rory was more than just the best. He made it look like he enjoyed playing as much or more than his fans enjoyed seeing his show. I think what ever form of art a great artist creates it gives them an even bigger edge over great artist that do it as just a job.

I first saw Rory in New York in 1977, I had been into his guitar playing and the fact that he came from a working class background really made me feel connected to him, he came on before the Jefferson Starship and stole the show and I was a Airplane fan. Rock on Rory.
