  • i wish they would rebuild it

  • What was the reason of fire?

Johhny, The Legend! We won't forget!

  • Johnny and June filled that house with a love that simply couldn't be replaced, I think it's probably best that it burnt. The modern equivalent to sealing a pyramid tomb when the Pharaoh has passed away. R.I.P. Johnny and June, I like to think, as you did, that you'll be reunited up above...and maybe someday I'll get an invitation to come hang out at your new house up there.

  • That was his empire of dirt. R.I.P CASH

  • why did they burn the house down for?? jw

  • Johnny Cash had compassion and he sang songs with depth, spiritual songs. Sometimes a bad man, a sinner and at the same time this almost holy man. He was a more complex figure than most country artists, don't you think?

  • I Not trying to sound like a baby or anything but i cried watching this video R.I.P Johnny Cash you were the BEST country singer ever I will always remember you .R.I.P.

  • just goes to show that johnny cash's house would ALWAYS belong to him.

  • He will be in our heart <3

  • maybe Johnny Cash came back and burnt it down! It was his and nobody elses! It belonged to him and June....Johnny did Smoke so .......

  • It's so sad that the house of Cash was burnt down....I've heard it was caused by a cigarette, which is kinda hard to believe considering Mister Cash smoked most of his adult life...I reckon personaly that The House of Cash was lonsome for The Cash Family an didn't want a new owner so it put right to that!!

  • WOW IT STARTED OFF AS BAD LUCK AND JOHNNY TOOK CARE OF IT FOR 43 YEARS AND PASSED AWAY ONLY FOR SOME IDIOT TO BURN IT BACK DOWN WITH A CIGARETTE? I GUESS JOHNNY KEPT HIS PROMISE TO ROY THOUGH.

  • they should rebuild it and make a museum out of it 2 honor the cash family!!

  • RIP House of Cash :(

  • Serves to remind me of what is happening with our government today. (: So sad.

  • i was in elementry scholl wen that happened i saw the somoke from my play ground

  • What is at 2:45? What do you show?

  • Maybe that house was not meant for anyone else to live in!

  • THATS an exxageration, what really happened is that Roy owned a house adjacent to Cash, and it did burn down and took the lives of his boys, while Orbison and Johnny and June were all on tour, not together though. John and June bought the land and told Orbison he would plant a garden on it and "only good things would grow there" Then the Cashs gave the lot to the remainder son, for nothing. Its in Johhnys book, I just read it and that was said in Johnnys OWN WORDS.

  • beautiful property.. sad he and it are gone.. but still here in pictures and songs..: )

  • I normally wouldn't make a comment regarding "cursed" or "bad omen", however Roy Orbison's son's, now this????????

  • we r not gona see a person lik johnny ! ..and no one is worth it whn we compare to johnny ! <-- agree wit me?

  • good,good,good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at least nobody else can live in johnny cash house good nobody deserves to live in johnny cash's house anyway

  • That house was not going to be anybodys but Johnny' and Junes. That house would have became another graceland.

  • I watched the news in horror on April 10th of that year, I was 17 and started working at a funeral home that next week...

  • I've seen this house on a tour in May of 1998. There were 2 black Mercedes parked in the driveway,,,I assume Johnny was home at the time.

  • when it burnt down barry gibb of the bee gees owned it

  • what a beautiful house

  • how it burned?

  • The Cash's we're the only ones who lived in this house!!!.he bought it from a man who built it but never moved into it!!.....Roy Orbison lived in a house next to John's where Mr. Cash Promised Roy he would never let anything be built on that land ever again!!...Instead he grew an Orchard there!!..The same side of the house by the driveway!!

  • A little piece of irony...David Brown (AKA Young Buck) lives right up the road from there....I used to live down the Cages/Douglas Bend area...

  • HMM... guess it just wasn't to be.. CASH left, and there was nothing to follow....

Some shoes just can't be filled....

My sympathy to the Cash family.

  • In a way ,I'm glad it burned down. Wouldn't be right for anyone else to live there.

  • so you think the earth said no to barry gibb living on it in that place? like a sacred place sort of thing. roy orbison, johnny cash and barry gibb? i think the earth said, nah baby nah.

p.s. marty stuart lives next door!

  • we pass this everytime we are on percy priest lake

  • it really was a beautiful house. I live right across the street from it, so I look out my window & see the rements of it.

  • Hey neighbor!! I live down Cages Bend.

  • were u alive when johnny was around

  • I'm sure they were, anyone overthe age of seven was.

  • i would love to have a house like that well b4 it burned down that would be so cool

  • man,i feel so sick watching this, ive been such a huge cash fan it feels like ive lost a home.

  • it was a beautiful house

  • Um. Tell Kathy I said Hey. And also, why did you post this if you didnt want commentary. Or you only want commentary that agrees with you. THat is not exactly the way Johnny Cash did things himself. I am sure your combatative stance comes from the right place but its coming out the wrong way. Just sayin.

  • Yes, we know. This video is for his house, if you can't be respectful then don't watch or comment on it.

  • i think you dont understand his comment ;)

  • @acashfan1 it´s a song u know - no disrespect.. Johnny Cash is dead nd His house burned down by Larry Gatlin..

  • it's really sad that the house burned down. it was a big wish from me to travel there once in my life, and that means to travel there from europe. i liked the architecture of it, maybe sometimes I'll be rich enough to build a house just like that for myself :)

  • Johnny came and took his house just like June came to take him!!!! May they rest in Peace and through our memories they will live forever!!!!!

  • Back in 2005 me and a friend of mine went to Hendersonville and visited this house. It felt amazing for me, a real fan of Mr Cash to stand on the same ground where he had lived. Does anybody know if they have arrested anyone for started the fire? I think it was best that the house burnt down. It was not meant to be that a disco-sissy like Gibb should live in that house that had belonged to God, Mr Johnny Cash

  • no the person holding the torch was not arrested, I personaly know him, He's my step-uncle actully. The workers who used the cleaner were supposed to put signs saying to not have any sources of heat, sparks, ect. around the area for like 5 days. They worked for a different contractor(?) and didnt bother puttin signs up. He tried to weld somethign with the air vent i belive, dont remember to much, and the floor around him burst into flames.

  • I asked if he smelt any fumes and he said it just smelled like anyother job site, and that nothing was out of the ordinary. He lost alot of hair in the flashover. He's truly sorry about it but it was a accident, unless you blame the other careless workers.

  • Hendersonville is a great place. I grew up there and to this day I miss it.

  • it was a burning ring of fire

  • oh no I still cant believe it...although it happened more than a year before :(((

  • how could they to this? :( i can't belive it, this house was a symbol of Johnny Cash and now it's gone! I think Johnny is pissed of up there right now and i'm pissed of! how could they do something like that, it's unbelievable ...

  • You don't have to think like that... maybe Johnny wanted that house to disappear :)

  • but why did he want it to burn down? :(

  • because he wanted to take the house with him maybe...

  • it might have had bad memmories inside , it which hurt him ...

  • The old place was built nearly entirely of very old and dry wood. Apparently, workers had been treating the structure with flammable wood preservatives, and it went up. I live one mile down the road. It's a beautiful huge lot overlooking Old Hickory Lake.

  • oh yeahi remember seeing this kinda sad

  • When I heard about this I automatically thought about the fire that killed the Orbison children. That land must be cursed !

  • well, Mr. Cash did not want any strangers living in his house , i guess......

  • It's like the house missed John and June and couldn't bear living without them.

  • Maybe it was destined to burn down. I don't know...just a thought. RIP Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash!

  • i think so... this house was so full of remains, oneone else than John and June could live there. May be they are living in Heaven in this house. I'ld like this idea.

  • Johnny and June Loved each other so much... The house was a symbol.... But their children were there lives. The children do not need to worry about the garden or any other possession because,, They are June and Johnny's gift to this world Thank You

  • Truly, this song is prophetic IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. ... an awesome insight into the moral and spiritual deterioration of America.

This song describes the awful slide of America from 1970 to the present day. - both sad and shocking.

  • I still think Gibb torched it for the insurance money...

  • wrong....i was there when it happened...i live infront of them...i saw it ignite...the workers had a weding tortch and there were aso flammable cleaners in the house they used. when they lit the tortches it ignited...i saw the workers walk out..there beards scortched...they were ok though

  • Did you know that Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison were best friends? We miss you Johnny and Roy!

  • That was a beutiful house and it sucks that its gone. I saw the ruins when I went to Nashivlle last year and I nearly cried.

    RIP Johnny and June Cash.

  • Thanks Una this seems strange dont you think so.

  • it makes sense that it burned. Like in the info someone else lived there before CASH it burned down. He rebuiled the house for himself to live in. Cash died it burned.

  • Its sad that this great property burned down.

  • they are building a memorial garden for johnny cashs' memory

  • no they are not according to Ms Kathy Cash, the property was not released or permission granted, by the owners to do so, it will be sold and most likely subdivided....the BEEGEE men would not let the Cash's have any thing from the gardens around the house either.

  • @jtheplayer are there pictures on it ? =)

  • screw the bee gees- that house should've been a museum after Johnny Cash died- no one other than the Cash family should've touched it

  • At least it was sold and his stuff was out of there, imagine how sad the children must feel now, what are they building in its place?

  • The children all feel horrible since they were not allowed to get any clippings of flowers from the gardens etc... no permission given, and they have no say in the property now as it will be resold and most likely will be a subdivision, its a shame

  • out of all the houses on this earth! =(

  • How the hell long did it take for the fire department to get there?

  • like 5 minutes. as soon as the house caught fire it went up in flames. they had put wood preservative on the house (they were redoing it) and somehow it caught fire and there was pretty much no stopping it. it was a sad day. the smoke cloud was huge!

  • There was nothing they could do from the looks of it. It was too far gone.

  • Volunteer fire department. The house was about 5 miles from the station. I am constantly amazed when someone spends a bazillion dollar$ to build a beautiful home, on a lake, but doesn't spend ONE DOLLAR on a fire sprinkler and alarm system! Neither did any of the subsequent owners, including Johnny. All that water, right there, but no way to put it on the fire...and someone always asks: "Where was the fire department?" They didn't start the fire!

  • hey....my house is infront of the house...the fire department did come...but it was too late...what a shame...my mother was the one who called the poice and fire department....then she took me out from school and we had to park our car and walk cause they woudnt let us through...we had to tell the olice that our house was right there...we couldnt get in cause the hot ashes could set our house on fire....i miss the house so

  • Sorry to hear that your house was damaged as well...

  • no it wasnt damaged....im glad too! :D i meant i missed johnny's house..D:

  • what is the name of this song
