So why not just delete the nasty comments? And keep the ones that argue against him and make good points? I guess because he's scared that they make good points, and lack the intellect to argue against them.

It wouldn't be a problem if he deleted the nasty comments, what upsets people (and thus incites MORE nasty comments) is when he deletes anything that's even remotely "I think you're wrong and this is why...". He doesn't HAVE to do that. But he doesn't disable comments (which might not upset people as much), he only allows the "I love you VFX you're doing such a great job!" type things that glorify him.

If Kim Jong Il had a YT channel, I'm sure he'd run it the same exact way.

The reason not to censor is not really about opening up oneself to other opinions. I am sure VFX can watch anything...or not...

The (compelling) reason that VFX (or anyone else) should not censor comments is to show that he/she can withstand critical analysis and still justifiably hold his or her own position.

This is why scientists encourage open peer review. If something can withstand this then it might actually be true! So it is not about changing, it is about strength.

So VFX is weak.
