Fuck Skyrim, I just bought this game. I now have nine N64 games, some of which I didn't own before (I used to have Turok when it was new; got it at Toys R Us). I'm probably going to put my Kinect garbage and Saints Row 3 on eBay.
I will cover this on drums. So reminicent of younger days..... i forgot what this sounded under the scream of minigun spray LOL....fuckin triceratops...
RBNSMTH as code will result in many good things lol or was it something else?
I never wanted the cheats, i loved discovering new places and trying to find the chrono scepter pieces, i remember in level 2 or 3, you had to jump on like 10 little pillars to get a c.s. piece, yes very hard lol.
@cmonconan I could NEVER find the Chronoscepter piece on level 3. I probably played through the game 20 times, got every piece, but could never find level 3 :(
@widar28 Turok 2 was a longer game in many ways than even some RPG games. The levels in that game were massive and actually took some exploration to figure out, it wasn't like Halo levels where everything is completely straight forward.
It's awesome when you enter a cave in lvl 7 *plays slow tune* and then you exit the cave and this theme starts playing. Its like "its dangerous out there!"
@meowistforlife youtubedownload(dot)altervista(dot)org/ the youtube downloader.. comes with free mp4 to mp3 converter also then just use audacity to make a ringtone to your liking thats what i do
all of the official reviews for this game say the music consists of nothing more than tribal beats - obviously they haven't played through the first two levels
I'm currently going through this game right now and am on this Level. Just picked up one of the level 8 keys.... one more to get! Damn those dragonflies!!!
@Fermi443 That's a shame. Turok is the god of FPS games. Just listen to the song in this video; it beats everything in Halo, Half-Life, or any other shooter out there. Some people may argue Goldeneye, but Turok has this primal, brutal rage that needs to be present if we're ever going to see another good one. I did enjoy the QTE's in the new one, but that was its only redeeming factor. I'd like to see them return.
@Fermi443 I couldn't agree with you more. Not even the good FPS games of today with over the top weapons match Turok in its variety of ways to kill. However, I think Acclaim went bankrupt and died, so I doubt the original team will ever be a part of a new game.
At the very least, lets hope these games never get a re-boot, sequel, or remake, despite how much I want one. XD
i remember when i first played this level I went to get the grenades by the killer plant ( which at that time i didnt know it was a killer plant) so i almost got the grenades and the plant attacked me and i freaked out
I used to call the chronoscepter the Chissmhopper cause my friends and I were like 7 and could hardly read big words. Definitely one of the most important games of my childhood.
Imagine how powerful a faithful remake of this game would be today, to show all the new FPS gamers what a real game is.
Forget about adding a story or complex dialogue. Just use the same music, throw up some ridiculously good graphics and tons and tons of amazing Turok like weapons. Maybe throw in some QTE's from the new Turok, and bam, one helluva 'mazing FPS.
There is freaking Pantera in this track! :D Message in Blood, the opening guitar riff; its the 'same' at 1:59 (almost). When I started listening to Pantera and first heard that song I was like "thats so familiar...". I finally realized where I heard it from. THIS. Hahahah.
@prentzel3 hahaha same here, just that, my father thought that it was just a dinosaur game, and when i started killing people, (you know the screams of the characters) hahaha my father said like " holly craaap" lol
These songs bring back nostalgic memories. This is definitely one of my faves on the N64. I just wonder why they couldnt get the rest of the series to be as good as the first.
son, i'd like you to take this knife, and this bow ( and this grenade launcher for good measures ) and i want you to slaughter those demons and bionic dinosaurs. let nothing bring you down.
Hey, turok the dinosaur hunter had no eqaul back in the day! I still have the game, and still play it occasionally! I wish their was a refurbishment company who coul update old classics like atari, super mario brothers, and contra...
I recently replayed this game. The enemy AI isn't good enough to dodge circle strafeing. Haha! You can actually circle a Raptor and knife it too death.
The game is amazing, and NO ONE. NO ONE gives the CHRONOSCEPTER the respect it deserves :(
I just wished they would've used more authentic weapons instead of fictional weapons. I think it would be cool to see Turok shoot a Navy Colt revolver and a lever action 22 rifle with a scope.
thats one of the beauties of this series is the weapons, take a look at the Cerebral Bore, Shredder, Razor Wind, Firestorm Cannon and Charge Dart Rifle. All amazing weapons which have been forgotten like the Chronoscepter by all except real gamers. Cheers dude!
@MetallicOpeth Every one of them except the Chronosceptor are Turok 2 weapons? I have no idea why they chose to ditch most of the weapons from the original, Fusion Cannon (L)
@cmonconan you're close. that's the opening of Level 8 where the two Triceratops are there waiting. I always walk around them and avoid them simply because they require so much ammo to take them down.
@Oyyy123 Treetop Village was frustrating for me when i was a kid cause there was 1 key i could never find for some reason. And obviously if you don't find it you cannot move on to level 7. I remember going all over those treetops for weeks and weeks and weeks on end lol.
@jeffbrister2004 Oh yeah definitely. I remember the same thing, backtracking so much that I would just beat the level and re-enter to try and finish it. The other level I remember being completely annoying was 4. I can't remember why exactly but I feel like there was a key I would always miss.

@locololas That is all too true. No developers really care about music anymore. It's all just generic orchestrated "epic" music that only plays when enemies are on screen. Even the new Castlevania, a series that once could always be counted on to deliver memorable, creative, and amazing music, has now also fallen victim to this modern trend of non-existent music.
@85ihateposeurs Hold it! The new Castlevania, Lords of Shadow? I gotta say man, I LOVED the music in that game. And yes, I've played my fair share of CV games. It was all developed for the game, and I felt it was great. Although I suppose you can contribute the different "style" of music to the fact that it was a very different CV game.
@mulletwesker Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. But I've only played Lords of Shadow for a few hours so maybe Konami is saving the good music for later. But as of now I can't recall a single tune or melody from the game.
@85ihateposeurs Understandable then. You often hear the same music theme that was dominant in the trailers, but I can tell ya that LOS has better music than most of the videogames that have come out recently.
