@Nochet i worked out that problem, type the patch that comes up on the game while going online directly into the search bar on the internet press enter and the patch should downlaod fairly quickly then restart the game and your good to go online,
Dawn of War 2 sucked big dick, i really liked DOW 1 it was fun and addicting but i only have Dawn of War and Dawn of War Winter Assault, so should i get Dark Crusade? do people still play this online?
@Gramercy72 i got all the ekspansions - and its ur choice but for me the dark crusade was by far the best - it added so much more depth like tau is a master of shooting, and necrons is amaingly unique and special - also the campaign mode is very fun and interrested aswell as the fantastic stronghold scenarios - yes people still play it online its still very popular - but the online part has alot of bugs, and i cant get on the most games, but its still aweomse :D

I'm currently in the middle of the campaign and I was wondering: what happens if you attack an enemy stronghold, defeat that enemy, but they still have some territories left? Playing as SM, i've only wiped out the Eldar so far, but I defeated all their territories first. But now I am right on the Orks' doorstep, but they still have about 3 territories left. Just wondering what happens, would be great if someone could reply.
I good story that makes sence. DOW II proved to have a better campaighn but it seems that the workers are too lazy to bother in makeing it more for the fans that it would make sence. But both games are awesome. By the way...You have Dark Crusade online account?
I downloaed the tyranid and additioanl chaos unit mods, but it doesn't work. My computer syas that they were uploaded successfully, but when I play the game they don't appear. can anyone help me?
The one problem people seem to have with this game is that the new factions have been criticized as overpowered. Usage of them is so frowned upon that they are the least used in on-line matches. You can go to tvtropes article on Dawn of War for why people say the necrons are broken, but I don't know about the tau. Regardless, nobody says that makes the game bad. The campaign also has some very good dialogue, and the Orks are hilarious.
If they remake Dawn Of War (Im not talking about Dawn Of War II) but next time, if they re-make this game, keep everything!!! BUT Take everything from all the differnet games, DC, SS, WS etc and put them into ONE GAME!!!! ^^ also, how about a bigger number of men in a group e.g 20 ^^ -----------BTW its a GREAT game, and has EPIC gameplay, BUT I do think that many people become "2 good" online.... Ive only won 4 games out of 12, Ive played for about 3 years now...... :( never mind great game!!!
If I only have Dark Crusade, without the first Dawn of War, it says that I can only play online with Tau and Necron. But if I play in Skirmish, Do I get ALL or Just Tau And Necron? Because Skirmish is Single Player. Thanks!
@PoppyJazzz To play the 4 races orks marines chaos and eldar you need the first dawn of war if you want to play with IG you need Winter assault if you want to play necrons tau dark eldar sisters of battle you need dark crusade and soulstorm etc
doesn't look like you got a real answer...in single player ALL of the seven races are available to you, it is literally online in online play that you are limited in choices. hope I helped (not too late)
i always play as the eldar. quick to mass troops with a good mixture of both ranged and mele units. their building destroying units are something to marvel though specially when you summon an avatar lol
i not sure but DW is good at online-playing..in DW2...only players lagging..usually drops out of match..but in fighting..everything is smooth..but sometimes lagging makes the whole game slower..but listening post and building structures is a miss in DW2..DW2 is just a balanced...RPG...stragety..gotta think fast before losing units..

that's not 100% correct, the sides are different, you can't be a Space Marine expert and then dominate the maps on your first try as Ork's. each side has their strength's and weaknesses (eg Ork: cheap yet effective in numbers cannonfodder, space marines: more costly yet way more effective ranged soldier)
when you kill necrons they can com back from life many times.... so when you have killed a hole army of them half of them can com back and kill your ass like you see in the trailer
IG space stationed you?!? in my game, they took down the space marines first, then got pushed back by eldar. the AI tau in my game won every single battle.

check your options it says a option called persistent bodies which allow your units and other stuff to remain on the battle field after death to make it look real, but who knows i only have soul storm which has the feature.
@VinceM51 I don't have SoulStorm yet and I can confirm that the option to make bodies persistent already exists in the 1st title, Dawn of War (without any expansion packs).
@Methos713 DOW2 is an awsome game! You get a more personal conection with your soilders, and the story is greatly improved, sure the gameplay isn't what you'd expect from an RTS, but it's more tactical than other RTS games, and plus (if you've got a good computer) the graphics are WAY better, i'm not saying the game is perfect, but it has some greart qualities!
to play soulstorm u can play just like that but if u want to play on multiplayer with all the races u should get dawn of war so that when u start the game it says to put in the dow key code to use the races for multi.
The AI is surprisingly wicked even on normal setting? Thats not really true, if one plays fast one shouldnt have many troubles with beating the AI in 5 minutes. Besides if you strengthen your provinces very much (build two bases, capture most points etc.) the computer doesnt have the slightest chance of taking it. So if you want real challenge - play on hard.

Why did they ruin DoWII? The biggest gripe with me personally is the base-building removal. What was wrong with forcing players to be strategic with creating their bases? I personally loved how it got the halotards away from my strategy game and it also made me more stimulated to get that next WAAAGH! banner in before they got to my bases. So why Relic?! WHY TAKE AWAY MY BASES!!??

I don't know how they even call it an "RTS", there's no S involved anywhere. It's at best small scale tactics sim and even then a pretty bad one since the enemy tends to just wait around for you to find them. Yeah DoW2 sucks bigtime.
because anyone who has ever played more than 1 RTS in his life is probably sick of spending so much time just mining for gold or whatever, and tank/horseman rushing... that isn't really take much skill. just an faq on the most efficient building queue, and frantic clicking will do. it's not that exiciting or "strategic" unless you love number crunching. DoW was kinda the middle ground between lots of base building RTSs and strategy wargames like X-COM or Commandos.

If by "spooge error" you mean like a "runtime error" then you have to download all the latest patches for the game. I had that problem once as well and that fixed it so give it a try.
DoW is a great game series. I did a college paper on it. lol. The complaint I do have is in Soulstorm, the three human factions are against each other with no explanation. Dark Crusade had an explanation, but not soulstorm.
Campaign in all DoW's are actually fairly shit..... I love DOW btw, i play online, but yeh campaign isn't good. ALot of people that play this game are 15+, as such they shouldn't use that shit voice over in the campaign.
well if you want to play it online youll have to install every other version to be able to play every race....otherwise youll just be able to play necs and tau
dude alright when you buy Dark crusade you only use the 2 new races you have to have the original game to have the eldar,orks,blood ravens, you need winter assault for IG (imperial gaurd)
how come they include the new races in order of decreasing popularity? After the 4 "core" races that almost every TT player uses like Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar and Orks they go onto the next which is IG. Then fewer players use Necrons and Tau, then only a tiny fraction of players use Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle. Tyranids werent included because it wouldnt be fair to the players to add Tyranids but the game engine wont do justice and the end result is bad.
If you want all the races besides the ones in soulstorm, just buy platinum edition. It has all three games that have ork,eldar, tau, imperial guard,space marines,chaos, etc. Not sisters of battle or Dark eldar which is in soulstorm.
To people who want to know,you have to Have Dawn of war installed to have the basic races,(Ork,Space Marines,Chaos,Eldar,Imp Guard) If you say that Imp guard is an expansion,it is but DC has it if the old DOW is installed!

I'm currently in the middle of the campaign and I was wondering: what happens if you attack an enemy stronghold, defeat that enemy, but they still have some territories left? well if you want to play it online youll have to install every other version to be able to play every race....otherwise youll just be able to play necs and tau

dude alright when you buy Dark crusade you only use the 2 new races you have to have the original game to have the eldar,orks,blood ravens, you need winter assault for IG (imperial gaurd)

how come they include the new races in order of decreasing popularity? After the 4 "core" races that almost every TT player uses like Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar and Orks they go onto the next which is IG. Then fewer players use Necrons and Tau, then only a tiny fraction of players use Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle. Tyranids werent included because it wouldnt be fair to the players to add Tyranids but the game engine wont do justice and the end result is bad.

If you want all the races besides the ones in soulstorm, just buy platinum edition. It has all three games that have ork,eldar, tau, imperial guard,space marines,chaos, etc. Not sisters of battle or Dark eldar which is in soulstorm.

To people who want to know,you have to Have Dawn of war installed to have the basic races,(Ork,Space Marines,Chaos,Eldar,Imp Guard) If you say that Imp guard is an expansion,it is but DC has it if the old DOW is installed!
