the old guy from out village who served in the waffen ss and i used to talk to alot when he was still alive told me the same thing too. russians were mostly very happy to see germans and to be free of bolshevist oppression when they arrived in villages and small towns. only people in bigger cities were mostly hostile because they were better indoctrinated by the jew run communist party
