  • Aah memories of the sixties! ; )

  • La canzone è una cover de "il paradiso...." di Mogol-Battisti che gli A.C. portarono al successo internazionale. Patti Pravo, poi, ne fece un successo per il mercato italiano.

    Grazie della condivisione

  • Paradise WAS Andy Fairweather Low!! Ahh memories of days gone by............

  • Good love song.

  • asi nejlepší počinek.opravdu nádhera

  • Andy opened for Clapton at The Royal Albert Hall two weeks ago. Still sounds brill! So does Clapton (and Steve Windwood).

  • the greats song

  • Brilliant, thanks for uploading. Great memories of great days walking round Carnaby Street with my mate chatting up girls lol. Great song. It epitomises the era.

  • The autor, Lucio Battisti, passed away in 1998.

  • @EtereRadioascolto One of the authors that is. The other, Mogol (one of the most important italian lyricists and songwriters ever), is still alive and well. Battisti was mainly a singer and almost always composed with Mogol (though he has composed some solo stuff and other with his wife). The two were so intertwined that they are always cited together.

  • This song is a cover of an italian song, "Il paradiso". The author of the music is the itaian singer songwriter Lucio Battisti.

  • It's impossible to sing this song without smiling.

    musician.

  • proud to be hungarian

  • @gcocraw I'm glad for you, but what does your being 'proud to be a Hungarian' have to do with this song?

  • I was very surprised to see Andy F-Low playing bass for Roger Waters' The Wall..very good too.

  • you are my paradise Andy!

  • this song was originally written by the most creative italian musical genius: Lucio Battisti. it's an honour for an italian songwriter to reach the succes in the country that create rock music.

  • proud to be british..... awesome

  • good welsh band

  • I love this one.

    Thank you.

    5*****.

    Jennie.

  • Amazing, and so very special to us. Thankyou!

  • Thanks Andy for some lovely memories, You Tube delivers only what it can deliver, another time were just for moments we nearly touch what we thought would last forever but was all to fleeting.

  • I think of you Lucio battisti!

  • Its cool to see this video, as it was only yesterday that a guy I frequently see/meet was in this band. He's Allan Jones, and owns The Globe Theater in Cardiff, and we see him whenever we go. But I can't believe he once was a famous musician

  • un pezzo del grande Lucio Battisti....

  • One of my fav 60's tunes and what a great voice! Nice one man.

  • OMG I sooooooooo remember my folks playing this tune...........I loved it then and I love it now........a classic tune xxxx

  • Thank's for this kwinter08, it brings back so many happy memories xxxx

  • wohoooooooo!!............ skipping down memory lane ;-)

  • what a great song

  • The first and original song in italian was sung by Ambra Borelli.

See youtube " La Ragazza 77 (Ambra Borelli) - Il paradiso della vita ".

The song was composed by Lucio Battisti and Mogol in 1969.

The Amen Corner made a "cover" at the opposite, infact in those years in Italy, italian singers sung many hits from uk&Usa in italian.

The Amen Corner made a similar operation with an italian song...

  • My Mum's favourite song from her youth...she had a 7" vinyl record that I as a kid played to death and ruined.....this song still makes me smile x

  • Glad i'm 26 and still listen to it :)

  • he plays alongside roger waters nowadays :O)

  • Not many people know that this song was originally written by the Italians Mogol and Battisti. Initially the song had no success in Italy. Then the Italian pop singer Patty Pravo heard this English version and, not even knowing about the Italian origin of the song, decided to record an Italian version of it that became a huge hit. Just search Patty Pravo Paradiso in youtube.

  • as a young man i mixed this original record in Olympic Studios with Shel Talmy ! And went on to work on Natural Sinner and several other tracks with Andy >> Amen Corner broke up ... Dennis Byron and Blue Weaver got to work subsequently, phenomally successfully, with the BGees ! happy days Alan O'Duffy

  • <<<just smiles

  • I loved you so much Andy, where are you now ? come back pleeeeease!

  • @annysvan ..Hi Andy is still touring uk...he doesnt seem to sing any of the old ones..pity..But he plays with ppl like Roger Waters..and Eric Clapton..mainly guitar and also sings in front of his own band.

Of course he doesnt look as he used to...but who does !! :) John

  • @annysvan ..oops!..And then I found a couple of You Tube vids with Andy recently singing.."If Paradise Is Half As Nice " :)

  • i always play this

  • I could look at him and listen to this all day long....when you get older the feelings from youth stay..great..

  • takes me back, great memories from my younger days..... brill thx

  • I met one of the band in Cardiff years ago when I performed in the Cardiff Tattoo.

I can't remember his name, but he was working as a photographer. Wish I could remember.

  • @GlennLane1 The man you met is my father in law his name is Neil Jones he played lead!!!!!!!

  • @wellerocs

    Great,

Well I hope he is alive and well? I was a bugler/drummer in the Band of H.M Royal Marines at the time. Just wish I had longer to chat to him and had a Photo taken with him. One of the greatest bands of all time, and defo my era. Regards Glenn

  • Saw Andy 2 weeks ago + yep he's still

" GOT IT " sounds exactly the same

    Great post + share thanks

Grazie mille.

  • sounds almost identical to the zombies

  • Saw them in Glasgow 68 or 69 - think they were on with Geno Washington. Not as good as Geno. This is a great song tho

  • Love it! Thanks for posting.

  • Memories flood back - personal ones and also the reminder that Andy Fairweather-Low's voice is unique and touches the heart & soul of the lucky listener. Great post thanks !

  • @graham211 You put it perfectly !

  • Una de las mejores canciones, bajo mi punto de vista, de todos los tiempos

  • I remember the late Alan "Fluff" Freeman commenting on his retro "Pick of the Pops" show that this still sounded fresh over thirty years later. To complete the quote "but then, I'm funny that way pop pickers"

  • wow!! love this song!!! good memories!!!!

  • great that this video is here again, Thanx a lot KWINTER08
