  • that a realy cool screensaver does anybody know what it is called

  • I can read octal and binary (and of course regular old decimal).

  • what is it called when for example i play on my playstation 3 or on a laptop and it has a wireless connection with a computer.

so while i play on my laptop or ps3, the other person on the computer is doing something thats taking up alot of ram. my laptop or ps3 starts to get slow and lags like hell.

what is that called?? is it the signal strength? or what?? please i need to know. how do i make it better?

    please reply!!!

  • generaly called lag

but also called latency or ping

  • A clock which can tell time in binary, the ultimate geek clock, awesome.

  • i can do roman, octal and hex

  • ILL MAKE A GEEKIER CLOCK :P HA!!!

  • decimal to hex to octal to binary conversions are sooooooooooo annoying to calculate.

  • octal to binary, hex to binary, or the other way isn't that hard, but decimal to everything else is annoying.

  • no it is not annoying

  • Weird haha

  • Weird haha

  • i CANT CHANT ON LINE BECAUSE YOU KICKED ME OFF FOR ASKING HOW TO HACK A SCHOOLS SERVER! :(((

  • cuz you failed

  • failed to what?

  • gimme that clock =o

  • ...what a nice insightful video...

    ...filled with informative suggestions...

...to bad you had to bail on my radio show to make it!...

...sending my listener count from 500...

...down to a guy at a delaware bus station...

    ...who inexplicably has wifi...

  • Chris, starting around 525 CE medieval computists occasionally used the Latin word "nulla" as a stand in for zero, or even more rarely just the initial N when using the numerals (Bede, 725 CE).

  • Most of our clocks in our house are Roman Numeral, so I learned that, that way.

  • really? where is that O_o?

  • Ermm...UK....you know like grandfather clocks, and old clocks? Most the clocks in our house are pretty old, goes with the house I guess, since our house pre-dates 1745.

  • Arabic Numerals Rule all

  • I can do all :D

  • I can tell in roman numaros :)

  • I can tell in TIX.. none of the others lol

  • OMG i asked for that clock for christmas! xD ^_^

I think i will get it!

  • Roman yes, everything else... no

IX:XXXIIX <<< Time when i posted can u figure it out

  • 9:38 is actually IX:XXXVIII

  • yepp :) good job.

  • nvm scratch that

  • i don't think binary code for that is that short i was pretty sure that one of the books that i have said that each number is 8 numbers long or something like that like 00000000 = 0 and 00000010 = 1 idk nic3 to know tho

  • When's the epoch the epoch clock counts from? Is it going by UNIX time, by counting the seconds since 00:00 January 1 1970?

  • i can tell time in Roman Numerals and Binary, and normally lol, but thats it, I made a binary clock for science class

  • 12:42

    32|16|8|4|2|1

    001100 = 8+4 = 12

    101010 = 32+8+2 = 42

    ^^

we decided to make a binary watch for a school projekt with a µC - may i can enter this canlange with a selfmade clock in a view month ;)

  • Nerd hahaha just Kidding

  • there are wrist watches showing the time in binary

    awesome cool =)

  • my teach has a binary clock, pretty cool, pretty dumb...

  • so is it in like 10101010101010 like computer code?

  • No, there are several 6? rows and 3? columns. Each cell is a light and multiple lights can be lit at once. The clock is read from right to left and down to up. the clock is broken up into seconds (right side, first 2 columns), minutes(middle 2 columns), hours(left 2). first cell = 0, next cell up = 2, than 4, then you move over and up to 8, 16, 32. Just look & add the lit lights values for each section. Thats the gist, It's been awhile since i've looked @ it, but you can.

  • thanks you:)

    peace

  • I want one

  • Groovy!

  • What is your screensaver, Chris? It looks awesome!

  • I really want The ThinkGeek Epoch Clock it looks so cool does anyone know where to get it on a uk website

  • I like Chris Pirillo, but some of his videos are just straight meaningless.

  • How can a numeral not be a numeral?

  • That one watch off of Spy Kids! Except it doesn't tell time...=/

  • The thought of having baby jesus be "0" was not liked by the civilazation, Therefore the earth started at "1". That is why there is not a roman numeral for "0"

  • That makes no sense.

  • thinkgeek <3

  • Does anyone actually use octal anymore? I know binary, hex, roman numerals, and regular old decimal. lol

  • the concept of zero did not exist until around 900 AD. so there really was no need for the roman numeral for 0.

  • No, there was the concept of zero dates over a 1000 years than 900ad. Don't confuse the lack of a symbol as proof they didn't understand the idea of zero.

  • Well, if you say so. I just want you to cite that source.

  • I might give you one, when you give one for yours.

  • I never said that the theory of zero never existed. I said that they didnt have a symbol for it in roman numerals.

  • hey guys its chocolatemilk from the chat room,

im sorry about the (...) over and over it was my little bro :( plz unban me

  • binary and hex i can read (as well as digital and analog)

  • dude ure like the ultimate nerd.....lol

  • anyone know the size of his monitors?

  • 30 inch

  • too big.

  • dual 30"

  • cool screen saver. where did u get it? i want it!

  • it came with his os

  • Do you ever have anything really useful to talk about chris?

  • Do you?

  • The lights in the top are clocks? I wish I could read anything other than XX:XX (digital 24 hour time)

I can't read analogue clocks though. Or the Tix thing. Or hexadecimal or whatever it is you said the clock does.

  • i can read binary, octal, digital, roman numeral, and digital. but for the life of me, i cannot figure out how to read a regular wall clock. the circle one that goes from 1 to 12 in a circle. i just don't get it.

  • LOL x'D

  • @xAlethiax your not the only one.

  • i love it

  • cool

  • I got myself a binary clock and I still can't figure it out.

    -EH

  • first

  • I can in roman numeral, I had to take a test on this in school. It's kind of confusing
