Did you even check to see if the people in the houses around you were ok? As first person on scene like that it is your responsibility to do that. Same with if it was a accident. Other storm chasers check and see if residents are ok if the tornado their chasing passes over a residential area.
Sustained heavy damage to body of car, tires partially slashed, but because I had bolted bullet proof glass over the car windows I didn't loose any windows.
It seemed like a lot of that was inflow, not the actual tornado itself, which may be the reason why he's still alive to post the video. That's getting WAY too close, folks. Inflow winds can be nearly as damaging as the tornado itself, especially when it's filled with debris like this one was.
That being said, it's one of the most amazing videos I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing! :)

@tornadotimb Man...I don't care what anybody says God was on your side that day and kept your car from flipping over or flying. There's no other way to explain why your car did not grow a set of wings when the tornado was powerful enough to decimate everything else around you. Must have been one heck of an experience, glad u alright tho...
I don't ever turn anything into the insurance company, I eat the costs, its my fault and my choice so I would not feel right about claiming a dime from them. One of the high costs of chasing.
@tornadotimb Excuse me Tim...but .. when the video first started why didn't you go the other way? like that other did at the stop sign right before you turned into the subdivision ? also......i knew what you were thinking but......Please please can i ask why you went into that subdivision instead of letting the tornado pass? you knew it was coming you could of went the other way also how fast did that house get almost torn apart the one right next to you
Well, I was thinking I could get in front of it, drop south on the next road and then film it as it destroyed the subdivision, but the road I turned south on was a dead end. If the road went through I would have been fine.
The house next to me was less than 50 feet from me that lost part of its roof and most of the side of the garage was gone. It would have been a good plan if the road was there.
@tornadotimb next time your chasing tornados can you make sure you turn to a road you KNOW will not be non accessible to saftey in this types of situations you do know you put your self in real trouble....also i noticed you praying :):) but never do that again ok?

Didn't stop there on purpose, I got caught on a dead end road and was stuck in the path of the tornado.
