that's why pros win more than amateurs, pros have more "bluffing power", or they would win more pots often because they are less sensitive to the money factor. a pro would be more likely to bluff with 10k than a amateur who would think about his rent/car/other payments first.

Depends on where you are. Where I am you can get a decent used car and an apartment in a safe area for about $14k yearly (that includes all expenses). Someplace larger though like say New York City would cost you twice as much.

A quick summary for those new to PLO;

POST FLOP:

1) Phil Ivey has 9A and flops 999A. He can only be beaten by somone holding 9-2 or 22. His trip 9s with an Ace kicker is a monster hand but not the nuts.

2) Zigmund flops a Full house although he must be aware someone holding 9x could have him beat if their kicker pairs. Only someone holding 9-9 can beat him.

THE TURN IS DEALT

3) after the turn the 2 gives Zigmund Quads. Ivey still only has Trip 9s and only a 9 will save him. Hope this helps

In Omaha you can only use two of your hole cards plus 3 from the deck. his best hand on the turn was 992+9A meaning he had trip 9s with an ace and deuce as kickers. he was not allowed to count the second deuce as part of his hand. Ivey needed to see the last 9 on the river to salvage the situation which would have given him 9999A

its impossible to have a straight/flush/full house on a double paired board on the turn, thats why the 2 was such a huge coolercard for phil(he had an A kicker). This is a situation that will end up with a shove-mania, even in 9 handed situations, especially if the low pair is small.

Well, I didn't think about him basically having the nuts for that board in PLO, but still, when the guy 3 bets him all in on the turn, he has to think he is probably calling off another 100k where his most likely scenerios are either he's ahead w/ better trips A kicker, he has 9 outs against 92, or he is drawing to 1 out against quads. I don't know too much about zigmund, but it doesn't seem like he'd 3 bet there w/ weak trips. So Ivey has to think he's facing a bluff or he is way behind.

Sorry to piss on your fire but he did only have trips. In Omaha you MUST use 2 of your cards and 3 from the board. Therefore his best hand was the 9 A in his hand and The 9 9From the board. Therefore his hand was 9994A.

asong, both are used in poker. for example when you have a flush draw the odds to hit on next card is 4-1 so you make your play based on these odds and the pot odds you are getting to call. Stats are used for example for knowing wich kind of hands your opponets play. so lets say there's a raise from a guy with a PFR of 4% maybe you should fold ur AJ, however against a 28% you should play it since your hand is better than the range of the hands he's playing.
