ALL the music from this game was top notch. Better than Symphony with its cheesy, poppy guitar lines IMO.

Order of Ecclesia. 5th CV game I played(1th.SotN 2nd is Aos 3rd's DoS,then PoR,I CHEATED ON THEM.)

First battle with giant Bonething,I just FUXKing screwed up........now I finished the game for 2 times,I became a CV master now..........(FUOK HARD LV.1!!!)

This game...Was my 1st game on my GameBoy Micro. It was easy for me till i went to the final boss. Dracula's 2nd form was a bitch to beat.

This game holds a place in my heart as the game that got me into castlevania as a franchise. And in my honest opinion, of all the castlevania games I've played since then, it bests them all. This game is just solid gold.

Its hard because unlike the other Castlevania games Circle of the Moon version had pretty big rooms and I always miss a save point :/

i love how all castlevania music matches to its own level like if the level is really easy than the music will make u feel like your are owning and when the music is all dark and spooky you know that something is coming!

This game's two biggest problems are the double tap run and ability card absurd scarcity. If you KNOW that cards are rare but can be found, and you know WHICH enemies drop them, gameplay can improve dramatically, to rival many modern CV games. If you're playing first-time and didn't look up any info, you're in for a very difficult game with very limited abilities.

It was my first Castlevania, and I like it so much. And it is a really hard game.

I was kinda weirded out when I found out the characters in this game were nobodies, I was all like, WHO THE FUCK ARE THOSE BELMONT PEOPLE?

So pretty much the opposite reaction to every castlevania fan that played this game lol. But yeah then I caught the lost time by playing almost every castlevania game in existence

I quite liked the darker graphics. They gave the game a brooding and pretty rich background. If anything, I thought HoD's graphics became too bright in response.

@adipiscor This game was great. Most of the bosses could be beaten relatively easy with some exp grinding and the right card usage. The final boss was a pain until you learned the strat. Then it was impossible to die instead.

I still haven't killed the final boss in Portrait of Ruin. It was horrible...

People who couldn't see their GBA screen very well hated the darker graphics. Playing it on the GBA SP, Game Boy Player or a version of the DS that plays GBA games eliminates this problem.

Circle of the moon is pretty hard though. I got lost a lot (since I don't like flipping back and forth to the map) and Nathan's controls are a lot stiffer than Shanoa's.

@crazyiproshow Frustrating bosses , stiff movement, not as flashy as other Castlevanias and the main char ( i liked him ) was a bit "Bland" compared to other main chars. Plus the issue with the old gba´s displaying the image very dark, which was quite bothersome in some zones.

It´s still my favorite Castlevania of em all.

@crazyiproshow it was just kinda lack luster when compared to the others. it didn't have the same charm or feel, and was thus technically not as good. I never had a problem with it, but I can see where other people come from with this idea.

But aside from that, the DSS system is a nice little spin and this game's soundtrack is AWESOME. Here's what I think when comparing this to Harmony of Dissonance:

HoD has better overall gameplay than CotM, but CotM has a wonderful soundtrack that HoD simply lacks. No to say that HoD has a bad soundtrack, but it can't hold a candle to CotM.
