Morlum Si Am Phay is the younger sister of Morlum Latsamy who sings in the Lum Ban Xork video. The youngest sister is the one singing Lum Tang Vai. The father sings Lum Khonsavan.
@Laomade25 Yes this was filmed in Ban Sok village in Savannakhet province. This is Lum Phu Tai, a traditional folk melody and dance of the Phu Tai people. There are two different styles. Depending on what area, the folk singer will sing that certain style and the khaen player will play a certain style as well.
I'm first Generation of Lao in America, But I like our traditional song a lot, especially this song. the singer has such a wonderful voice plus shes 's cute. love her!

In Kalasin,there is a Phutai population,but i think most live around Renu Nakhon in the Nakon Phanom,Sakon Nakhon,That Phanom triangle,they are sometimes mistaken for Viet or Chinese people.These people are slowly dissolving into the Thai culture,I hope they can keep their identity,maybe the Lao Putay have more chance in keeping their traditions...Great video and music,thanks for uploading !
