about time. why cant our country see that no matter what gender, race, sexual preference, or what ever religion you practice, we are all equals. they say its the land of the free, but after Prop 8 was instituted, is it really? im glad to see it now on the right track as gay's deserves rights
To all the moronic bible thumping hypocrites - Cheating on your wife is a sin (so is divorce by the way). Maybe you should focus on that for starters. Oh....you're not concerned with that? Because that actually involves YOUR actions?
Well, on behalf of straight men who are for equality and non-discrimination - GO FUCK YOURSELVES PROP 8 SUPPORTERS.
Isn't there something about casting stones in the bible?
@bottleracket That was not a majority vote, the electoral college is in place for presidential elections. Proposition measures the majority of the people does matter and the people have spoken and 2 judges overturned the voice of the people.
@jordanjayz23 Gore won the majority vote. The majority of people voted for Gore, but I guess some 'activist' judges decided deny Florida a re-vote to their true voice could be heard. That's true democracy being destroyed. What happened with Prop 8 is just some judges saying the people are not aloud to discriminate, not matter how many people want to. Good thing too....maybe next time there will be a Prop to not allow morons from marrying, and then you'd be shit out of luck.
If a certain section of society is treated as being less worthy than the rest of society what kind of democracy have we got? I see the judges action as upholding democracy not killing it.
Can you really have a democracy without equality and freedom of choice?
The part I enjoy the most, is seeing this happen after the Mormons spent all that money on Prop 8. Lesson learned for the Mormons and all other controlling dicks. I'm a straight for gay rights, and equal rights for all.
@whanethewhip I love my dog and my dog loves me. Can I marry my dog?
People of California voted for Prop 8 with an overwhelming majority. Why do a few biased judges overturn the people's will? USA is a country of democracy. People vote on the issue and the majority wins. The courts should not be involved and decide with biases.
It's for the court to decide whether fairness and equality will prevail. We asked the court to do this, so not smart to second guess the outcome publicly.
Any judge who mistakenly rules against same-gender marriage equality (and the U.S. Constitution's promise of equality under law) will ultimately find that they have tarnished their legacy by being on the WRONG side of history.

@jordanjayz23 I guess you were just as sad when the people voted for Al Gore being president in 2000, and a few judges overturned that, huh?

I can't wait for the SCOTUS to get the case. It should be 9-0 ruling for fairness and equality. Common sense! This IS America, after all!

Indeed justice WILL prevail.
