  • man is corrupt. religion is corrupt. the corrupt man..created corrupt religions. yes All things are possible through Jesus Christ this is completely fact. basically you are right about alot of things. but the main purpose is that you should follow Jesus Christ and not the churches because they are man made. but why follow man if the Lord God created us. why not follow our creator?

  • youtube.com/user/GTandYork?ob=0

  • Great Response. Yes, Hypocrisy is the problem; not religion ,Christianity or the Church. Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. Jesus came to empower us with the Holy Spirit to to overcome hypocrisy.

  • This is amazing. God Bless you. Also, to the person below, it is up to you to believe. The Truth isn't popular, Satan is popular. think on it.

  • he doesnt have 17 million viewers tho !

so i say which massage does God whats to be heard !

  • Well done, indeed. The brother speaks boldly in response to what has been said ... God's blessings!

  • Well done man, great video!

  • I'm tired of rhymes. Just please spit out what you mean.

  • Legit!

  • Taking one single verse out of the Bible to prove your point to other people is like taking God's creation off of a plant and making a joint with it. Anyone that follows your lead, will get high off your nonsense. Those who fully understand and read the passages before, after, around, over, under, similar to, or anything of the such, will be able to really use the Word for purposes that It has been created for.

  • @d0natebl00d I wish to say I am offended by this comment and sadly I recognize many verses from the Bible. you have told a christian that you don't know that he is using the bible incorrectly. while we may called different poets more inspired

  • you actually have the same point of view as the poet. both of you guys are talking about the false religion that is degined by today's generation, government, media and military warfare. he was talking about the religion of today that is misguided to create chaos, division and hate. the definition of religion has changed dramatically from what it was before. the poet wants to promote peace and hoping that others won't support creating more wars because of "religious brainwashing"

  • this is one of the better response videos. as for the original, i agree with much of it with this in mind: we tend to get hung up on some of the words he used...another response said they think the religion he's talking about is the "hollow" religion--the "religion" we see in so many churches today. thinking of it that way, it's more accurate. but loved your point, when we're kneeling at the cross we're picking it up too. great video--thanks for posting.

  • I'm sorry, but as a person that has been revealed to Jesus and that it's all about his grace. I'm going to agree on the fact that it is all about Jesus; and Jesus > Religion. If you read the bible in its context, you'll find that it's not about what you do but about what Jesus has done on your behalf. Blessings to you.

  • @AndreaJRivas Your are very very 1/2 right, the start of all is what Jesus did for us, and in the end what Jesus did for us on the cross will hopefully complete the full circle, but if you read the whole book, at least the gospels, you will see that Jesus gave us direction and commandments, and told us he was us to follow these together.

  • Great video!

  • coming from an athiest, that was beautiful.. respect.

  • Thanks for amplifying the original video.

  • Very well spoken words...Much more wiser than Jefferson Bethke's words. Some of his words were wrong and downing. ...You made it more clear of WHY we should be careful of religion. And, I also noticed the art photo on your wall. Very nice!!!

  • @Heartothetube But he let go.....just 4 those 4 minutes he let go...n spoke his mind....I respect that.......

  • ewwwwwww..um no! You're reading from a paper, weak!

things you say aren't as powerful. Also did you just wake up or something?

  • i gotta say...this isnt near as poetic

  • you are not thinking too sir...

  • sir.. where did you get your sermons? from your friend priest? can you please read you bible again and please apply it.....be born again. JESUS LOVES YOU.

  • @dorobu85 plz go away. he is right.

  • Well said!

  • incmedia.org visit it, go to facethetruth and face the truth

  • THE BOTTOM LINE: CONTRADICTION AND INCONGRUENCE IS NOT OF GOD. No one can truly love Jesus, yet hate Jesus' religion. Those who love Jesus, love the religion Jesus lovingly founded and fulfilled.

Holy Scripture, Apostolic Tradition, the Church’s Magisterium as well as well-established Historical records, all confirm that Jesus Christ founded a divine institution which He named the “Church.” Regardless of what they may claim, those who hate Christ's Church, undeniably hate Christ, its Founder.

  • amen, brotha

    i dig your rhyme

  • Thank you so much for this response, it was great and full of truth! How can someone say that they love Jesus and hate his body? "By this the world will know that you are my disciples, that ye have love one for another"

  • Please people, get it right. Religion DOES NOT equal the church! The church is actually the sum of all people, no matter of what delegation, who truly believe in Christ with their hearts. Religion on the other hand is a man-made construct of all sorts of traditions. Like take Christmas. It celebrates the birth of Christ which is in the bible, but why is it celebrated on Dec 25th? Because that date's a Pagan holiday. So religion is shaped by people's habits and such, which aren't always biblical.

  • My favorite response so far :)

  • @Nottafooh1 God isn't after actions since ''who has given to God that he should repay them?''. He is after the right believing

  • @Christian260308 i agree with you :) but belief and action go hand in hand :)

  • @Nottafooh1 True, action stemming from belief :)

  • @Christian260308 exactly great minds :)

  • @DaughterOfAsena that's true

  • @nullsphere1 I totally agree with you. Church is very important. I go to church. It helps keep me focused on God and grow in my faith. I don't think bball89 was trying to diss the church but rather open up the eyes of those who claim to be followers of Christ yet forget the Gospel and what Jesus teaches us.

  • Keeping it real....

  • Check out bat0811's response to the original video if you'd like to see a well-made rebuttal! Really well made and worth your time. Definitely said a lot of things that stood out to me! Check it out!!

  • bible said to stone homos so disregard everything it says sorry

  • Dude, you can have good faith without religion. Credenc is THE THING! Credence gives the ppl will to live, to help, to give and to be good! NOT the religion.

What is good on building a big fat church, build out of gold and money from slaught "infidels" how the church ppl call them? What is good on bruning ppl just because they have red heir or because they are "too" intelligent? What is good on raping church members? Do you like Hitler? NO! Then why like the church? They killed jews in mass too

  • I really do think that you are right but what Jeff was talking about was FALSE religion!(: But I really did like to hear your opinion your amazing and blessed

  • I like that you responded in the same poetic format, good job, and well spoken. Church life is vital to faith.

  • You make very good, valid points but I believe the original viral video is talking to or directed to the ones who call themselves Christians or by the true definition a follower of Christ. He reminds us Christian doesn't mean just blindly following a set of rules and to be accepted by Christ. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins we were already accepted. What is important is a relationship with Jesus and following his word. If we did that, we would also do the those good things he teaches

  • @MarkSan26 Can't ignore the importance of the church, it is critical to following Jesus. Jesus was a religious person and all of his disciples were as well.

  • I agree with you, but the religion he's speaking about the fact religion has been a form of just using God to control other people politically and such.

  • About people who hate religion their intention may be good but is wrong. Those views shows the water down of christianity and lack of importance for church authority. It also goes against early christain teachings and bible who are in support of bishops and church authority. In a sense they become their own church authority who decide what part of christianity to accept and not accept. Eg..Whether sabbath should be celebrated on saturday or sunday, Christmas good or not, easter bad or good, etc..

  • You have some good strong points. Its hypocrisy not religion that we should resent..

  • Why I hate religion and jesus: because they are fake! simple fairy tales for the ignorants to believe.

  • Great response to Bethke's video. It's not religion that's flawed it's the members within it.

  • berthke is simply confused... that i know to be true

  • Thanks for making this video response. <3

  • Did you make that picture in the back ? cause this guy came to our church and did the same thing ! eric samual tim did it ! hes amazing.

  • @pinkpanthergurlLOL It was totally Eric Samuel Timm! I gave him credit in the description!

  • There is no god. You guys are way behind with this religion stuff, religion has been dead forever now. The concept of god is dying out as well now.

  • no one hated on Jesus or the Church. We love Jesus as for he is our PROPHET... & how can Jesus be ur lord if he is the son of GOD? shouldn't be God who yall r worshiping not JESUS? well i dnt really know your religion and im not going to sit here and 'hate' on your religion i love every religion equally so therefore i am not going to say any negatives... Good seeing ppl stand up for their religion tho. good job.

  • @FayHaibe Have you ever heard of Trinity 3 in 1. God the father. God the Son. God the holy spirit/ghost. They're all connected. I can sit and tell you all and what nots but it will be long. But yeah. God/Jesus left us with a gift "Holy Spitiy" he left peice of himself in us. And to reach God you have to go through Jesus. Since God sent him down 2 die on the cross for everyone's sins. Thats where you will get your salavation & also believing Jesus rose from the day 3 days later. Questions?

  • @smasopust when is the last time u read the bible?

  • Awesome brother!! You did a great job.

  • another great response /watch?v=PX0f4rMl3fs

  • Im not a christian but I do believe there was a jesus, i do believe he is coming but in the form off a different prophet, and different name, and i am a firm believer that religion CAN UNITE, and like you've said, when done well, its gonna be amazing...until then hypocracy is a weakness we humans needs to work on, turning away from religion doesnt bring us closer because it is then that we become ignorant and unwilling to search for truth? "why i hate religion...etc" BE PATIENT WITH RELIGION '<3

  • forward*

  • Two things I encourage the body of Christ to consider. First we must push secularism out of places of worship. Second, beware to not modernize the church, remaining Bible-centered. Also rebuke and reprove one another in the word as siblings correct and guide one another. I am a street preacher. Please pray for me as I push the plow. Glory and exaltation of our Heavenly Father. Love Him for who He is not just what He does.

  • the original poem brought this foward, which is good. i want us to talk about Christ Jesus especially the youth. Jesus did warn in His largest gathering about be not a hypocrite like the Sagacees and Pharisees. those that do the will of God. do not dfear the one who can kill you, fear the one who can cast you into Hell. Well done in the message God put in your heart that you spoke. it was good you were Biblical, thoughtful, and obedient. Stay strong in your faith and keep growing in the Lord.

  • Always somebody trying to feed off of someone's video!!!! Dude the original guy burns your words up....You cant touch him....Move on and come up with your own skit quit trying to feed of the other dudes work...bball1989 everyone check out his video it makes way more sence...

  • and an upside down cross in the background?

  • Have you ever heard of hyperbole? I think by "religion" he is meaning "works-righteousness."

  • That's a fairly good response too. Though, human nature is not bad, but flawed, and not wrong, but distorted. Our real human nature is to be Christ-like, but since our nature has been corrupted by sin, we are constantly falling and getting back up again by the grace of God.

  • This is beautiful!!! SO articulate!! Hope this goes viral....(: God bless

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. A rational, Scriptural response! Thank you. People, distribute this one.

  • Immaculate

  • Great response!

  • Christianity is the only religion on the face of the earth where God pursues man and provides redemption and forgiveness of sin through His only Son Jesus Christ by the Cross. ALL other religions on the face of the earth teach man must strive to be good enough for their god(s) through man's own works.

Christianity is Salvation by Grace through repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. All gifts of God.

  • I actually understand why you made this video. Putting the church in a good light (As it should be.) Loved this video and Bethke's video!

  • that was blessed bro!

  • @petrosmedia By killing africans woth aids? No it's not.

  • I just got horny watching you bro. and im a dude.

  • You r cute!!!

  • Yes, the Catholic Church is beautiful.

  • @petrosmedia

"The Catholic Church is beautiful" you said.

Question: What's so beautiful about it? The fact that they rape little boys???

    GAHAHAHAHA~!~!~! :PPP

  • so does every one here agree that Christianity is the true religion ?

  • @TheJudah773 its true...but one shouldnt call it a religion. Theres a reason why this christianity sticks out, why this one shouldnt be classified with the category of religons (something made by man), and it is because it is the REAL thing, a relationship with our God.

p.s. i just realized this like 5 min ago. I thought it the right "religion" too

  • @snowyavr now i know its just the right relationship, with a real God

  • the funniest thing about this video is if i were to ask what religion i should be apart of....i would get a straight answer......niec ryms tho

  • Fantastic message. Thank you very much. Your youth and your faith amaze me. Praise Jesus :)

  • Thank you for this wonderful video. The "other one" was a bit harsh on my emotions yesterday because I am close to my church.

  • @SierraKen Hi Kenny Ken Ken :) Jesus loves us. :)

  • @SierraKen - the other one wasn't dissing the "church". He plainly said he loves church. Both videos have the same exact point, the only difference is their working definitions of the word "religion" (it's a matter of semantics).

  • This is awesome. (:

  • Thank you so much for a biblically (as well as "dictionarily") sound rebuttal to Bethke's video.

  • The reason I hate religion is because I got raped by a man who looked the EXACT same as Jesus... :( .. and then after that I got robbed by someone who looked like moses

  • @CharlieTheBabysitter What does Jesus look like ? There is no known images that I know of only man's inspriration of Him. He was like a withered weed, not to be desired. I'm sorry you were raped. I hope you have found healing . And Moses is the same deal. What does he look like ? I'm sorry you were robbed as well. But your statement show's something hidden in it. Unless you know what they really looked like not a picture painted by an artist.

  • @pappyforyou it was what the church makes jesus out to look like..when it happened there was a group of people laughing at it or just watching smiling, how the fuck can I believe in ANY religion after this has happened to me and people just SMILED AND LAUGHED? we live in a fuckin sick world.. if I seen this happen to anyone else I would have stopped it !.. this is the 1st time I have ever talked about it to anyone, I just had to share my views on it !!!

  • @CharlieTheBabysitter I'm not making light of it. I have 3 daughter's and trust me there are men who would have put a stop to it. Even at the cost of someones life. No one should be a victim. And this world goes beyond sick. Don't trust any religion, don't trust men. read the Bible for yourself ask God into your life. Trust Him, those who do these type of thing's will have their before Him. And we'll see who is laughing then. Thank you for sharing and pray for understanding. God bless

  • @CharlieTheBabysitter everything happens for a reason. My "dad" left my mom and i but nothing ever held us back but now i have a wonderful father in my life that i wouldn't trade for the world. Many other personal things have happened but opening up to Christ and throwing it all down at his feet has made a a stronger person. Religion didn't do that to you, Jesus didn't do that to you, but He and many others in the church are there for you if you let them in.

  • @abrase004 No it was not Jesus who did that to me but where was he when I was on the ground and there was blood coming from my bottom and as I prayed for anyone to help I was met with nothing but silence? there was 20 people there and they just looked on and when I get up, my bottom feeling like it was on fire I got mugged.... how can I trust anyone now?

  • Sean this is amazing!! I agree with you 100%!! This is a great response! You have given the true picture of religion and the church. Religion has never been the problem, man has. Keep doing what you're doing!

  • Comment removed

  • Amen, bless you brother :)

  • First, If you're going to do spoken word, memorize it for gosh sake. Second, I feel like you are just arguing for argument's sake but, I'm sure you'll hear that you are saying the same thing he is saying, so I won't tell you again. I will say this, though: As someone who tried for years and years to fit into the "Church," but was always left on the outside, Bethke's right. The Church does not act like Christ.

  • Thank you. Your message is much better. It doesn't bash or judge other Christians, it just says we need to change, and that's the important part.

  • awesome video my brother! i'll be doing a video that deals with this topic and i have to say i agree with what you're saying 100%! hope that you sub me to bro & god bless u!

  • Amen! God bless you for sharing the truth with love!

  • In taking in what Bethke was saying, I did not get the sense that he was putting down the church or the Body of Christ. He said that near the end that he loves the church. I believe that the depth of his message was tempered with humility and God's grace and not a condemnation.

  • Great Video and you are dead on - in a world where people are looking for a reason to be Lawless - jefferson has given them some- for i agree its the hypocrites he spoke against not religion- its sad but people dont know that JESUS said I am the HEAD+ the church is my BODY- meaning you cant separate the 2-HE also said in Matt 5:17 "for i came NOT to destroy but to fulfill" and he also said dont forsake the fellowship of the saints- the devil is using Jefferson to spread the spirit of lawlessness

  • I respect your heart, but I think you guys are arguing the same thing. The church is the bride of Christ, which both of y'all concede. It 'a the hypocrites false "form of godliness" that makes you seeth. I define religion as form without power.

  • Thanks Brother! This made me want to scream out "YEAAAAAHHHHH BUDDY!" Well, I did. God Bless :)

  • Right. It's all semantics though; I feel like you both having a similar message. I agree with you about James, especially about 1:27. But this video won't get thousands and thousands of views, because it's more of a debate about words than anything else (although your poem is very good). Bethke's video is a bit melodramatic in how he crucifies the word "religion," but a lot of what he says is at least inspired by the general attitude that Jesus held toward hypocrisy.

  • Comment removed

  • @bbqamazing I totally agree haha. I just see the video blowing up around and people bashing "the church" instead of being the change they try to agree with. Just a response to Bethke's video, hoping that people love the bride of Christ like He does Himself :)

  • @smasopust YES thank you. The other video seemed to show a great side of Christianity. How God wants to have that intimate relationship with us, and how bad legalism is. But I'm also a pastor's kid, and while people got great things out of the video, I was tired of seeing all of the "pastors were the only ones to dislike this video" comments as if all pastors are in cahoots to make your life miserable. Jesus taught his disciples theology, he didn't just play games with them to develop friendship

  • @bbqamazing It's not semantics. It is ultimately about keeping purity...specifically the purity that is the King James Bible (Ps 12:6...Prov 30:5) because the Word instructs us in purity. The pure Word instructs us in pure religion whereby we become pure. (luke 4:4...Eph 5:26...1Tim 4:5...Heb 4:12...and more...)

  • @bbqamazing Yes, it is an argument on semantics, but nevertheless, I wouldn't demean it. Bethke places on his description that the poem is about "false religion." Okay, but that isn't said anywhere in his poem, and that is very deceiving. At its core, Christianity as a religion is about fully comprehending what it means to follow Christ. Otherwise, we get people like Family Radio who claim that the world was going to end, and even worse, heresies. Religion needs to be seen in a new light.

  • @bbqamazing It's not semantics, those are two very important opposing ideas. Jefferson Bethke himself even came out and said he was wrong on the Gospel Coalition blog by Kevin De Young following-up-on-the-jesusreligion-video/

  • Thank you! I appreciate this :)

  • Simply amazingly inspirational!<3 J-SWAGG!!

  • BOOYA! Thank you and God Bless!

  • YOU GOT IT RIGHT!!! Thank you for taking the time to respond to the other guy's video. A couple Christians I know posted it on facebook and I couldn't figure out what the heck they're thinking if they agree with him! Thanks again! I hope this gets viewed by thousands.

  • Nice video.. definitely a good response

  • Thank you for the encouragement!

  • I love this. Thanks for posting a response. God bless you brother.

  • As a catholic, thank you.

  • AMEN!
