  • this or blackjack atx c-1 fr?

  • I got a serious question. What strings do you use on it, for soloing? And, how do you feel about the action of that guitar? I have this guitar but it's not very comfortable to play. The action seems a bit high, the strings seem a bit thick, even though I've changed both these variables..

  • I'd really like to know - Clearly this is a big step up from the Damien Elite FR, but is it really that much better? Is it worth the price difference? I'm leaning towards the Damien Elite FR, but I'm sort of stuck on which to get. If it's not a life changing difference, then I'll stay DEFR. Can you give me any insight on which to get?

  • Hey!

Did you record the sound directly into the camera, or is it going through a computer or something?

Great sounding and looking guitar, and an awesome review!

  • lol , thats not a flame maple top, thats a quilt maple

  • Is my amp (a marshall mg10kk) the reason why I cant seem to make the pinch harmonics sound come through the amp? I have the Schecter Hellraiser Special C-1 FR. And if so what good tube amps would you recommend, good and affordable of course! Thanks!

  • when you use the whammy on this thing, does it knock it out of tune too bad?

  • What's a good price for a used one??

  • Love my hellraiser c7FR, still don't have my own amp to do it justice yet though (currently looking after my mates dark terror and engl cab and realising what i've been missing!!!)

  • im ashamed to call myself a guitarist... =(

  • Is 649 dollars a good price for a used one.

  • @daniyalahmed97 I think the new ones cost about 900 dollars, so probably not. I'd suggest you keep your money and buy a new one later if you're patient enough...

  • man i dig that into XD dat mah style

  • You Could Be Mine !!!

  • Why don't you guys stock Schecters anymore? :-(

  • hi is this schecter suitable for metal?

  • @Skull24Crusher most all their guitars are lol

  • @Skull24Crusher Hell yes

  • The schecter website says these now come with the 1000 series floyd. Do any of you know anything about that?

  • bought one of these in green today

  • i want this or the bc rich mocking bird pro x

  • I bought the guitar today, its amazing :D

  • @SpAcEmOnKeY126 Does your have Black Hardware or Black Chrome? Plz reply =)

  • Is the emg 81/85 combo better than the emg 81/89 ??? I need an answer

  • when you started playing at 4:12 I thought you were playing Fight Fire with Fire by Metallica :D

  • Heyy, Is the Floyd Rose Locking or Not.... either way im buying this guitar

  • What strings did you use in this video?

    Thanks

  • hey m8 , seems that i can no longer find this guitar on ur site , anything hapenned ? by the way , i want to buy it , but i live in romania and i think that the transportation will cost alot if i command it from far away ...do u know any places close to my location ? ive found one but the guitar costs 1k euros ....(there are no shops in romania that sell this guitar).please help and ty

  • look up schecter on urban dictionary and read the 4th definition

  • is the guitar good in low tuning like drop c ? planning to get one >:D

  • @maharlika3001 fuck ya! \M/

  • I Love It !!! :DD

  • What's better for heavy metal a hellraiser c-1 or a blackjack c-1 ?

  • @wolf9013 depends on the pickups or amp head, its not the looks, and its on the feel

  • Pristine emg cleans lululululululul

  • Do I have to adjust the tension on this, to use its with skinny top heavy bottoms, 10-52's?

  • @Liebecks it will come with normal d'addario's probably 9 guage. if you want that set up you should see if you can order it that way from the store or spend a little more to get the set up

  • @Liebecks either order it at the store for your specifications or have it set up for that after its first string change

  • Would this guitar be good for thrash metal?????????

  • @MetallicaA9595 damn straight

  • This guitar or the Blackjack ATX with Seymour Duncan Blackouts?? I would like some opinions, thanks!

  • where is made this guitar ?

  • lol, was homeboy jamming on some Loudness at the end there? MZA!

  • @mort0subite ya lol wock and woll!!!

  • Hey PGS I got a question: do you think this guitar would sound nice with a blackstar 60W amp?

  • I have GOT to get one of these. I think it just might be my dream guitar...

  • I've always played Ibanez...was scared to change but fuck it...that guitar is da shitz!

  • Hey, I got a question: I've bought a hellraiser c-1 FR, but because I have a Marshall MG30FX amplifier, I always feel like the sound isn't as good as I thought. I've been thinking of changing pickups for Dimarzio Liquifire and Crunch Lab. Would that be a good choice? Or shall I invest on a distortion pedal or amp?

  • @Alkinoos7 - Don't worry about pickups or pedals at this point. It's the amp. Put your money towards a decent tube amp and your guitar sound will come alive. Thanks for watching!

    - PGS

  • @Alkinoos7 do not replace those pickups. marshal isnt a good metal amp brand. line 6, peavey, mesa, bogner, randall, probably krank... i know some of those are very pricey but so is marshal. line 6 is fairly affordable, and their spider valve is literally line 6 mixed with bogner. its a great tube amp, a bit over a thousand but very worth it. those pickups are great. no pedals needed either. unless you want. but if you want a metal tone to go with the hellraiser, marshal doesnt have it.

  • @TangeClown @Alkinoos7 real marshalls are capable of metal if you push them to their limits, its just that the MG series is solid state crap.

  • @greensp4rk real marshals yes... but if you can afford that..... id be jealous

  • @TangeClown you can buy an oldschool valvestate s80 8280 for 200 euro's secondhand

that's a real marshall and sounds fucking awesome for thrash and other high gain mid-scooped metal genre's

  • @mc2alfawolf yeah in europe. in the u.s. its not so consumer friendly. same with mesa but mesa is better

  • @Alkinoos7 at least you need 60w fto achieve full tone joy. so try to find some 60w combos )

  • 3:25 kings and queens...lol

  • How much does this weigh? I've been complaining about my Les Pauls weight since i bought it...

  • @TrippyTheShroom well, its mahogony so it has quite a bit of weight on it... but i doubt nothing like a LP as they're bodies are super thick.

  • Please review the hellraiser special..

  • What's the music you're playing when the video starts? Thanks..

  • @JoshGoldie, put on a lower gauge strings maybe? Or lower the action just a tad, but if u do that there will b a bunch of adjustments to ur floyd rose and intonation and stuff. Id recomend just putting in thinner strings

  • PLEASE HELP, i just tryed out this guitar today and it way amazing, the only thing i didnt like about it was that the strings were quite hard to bend, can somebody please tell be how to set up my guitar so that its easier to bend the strings, thanks.

  • 4:12 DIO THE LAST IN LINE, very well played beautifull tone all round, i just tried out this guitar today, and the string action was too high for me, how do you losen up the strings for easier playing? (amazing guitar btw)

  • hi, wat amp are you playing during this demo?

  • I love this guitar I have the older model with the black hardware and 81-85( I don't need split coil sounds) but otherwise exact same. I've tried almost everything out there thats "big name brands" I love the schecter, EMG's and real floyd rose and great cross inlays and binding (the LTD/ESP has too much abalone for me) on the shecter is great.and If you play metal or metal/core this is a great guitar with good quality! I love mine

  • This guitar gives me a woody woodpecker

  • What He play in 4:12 ?

  • GREAT DEMO! :)

  • how is he doing that thing with his right hand at 2:28??

  • come on PGS

    review the schecter hellraiser special

    please!

  • @bloodslushie123 yeah, u can take off the locking, but be careful. since this guitar has a floating bridge, any tuning adjustments you make on any one string shifts the the entire bridge, meaning the rest of the strings will likely to go out of tune. also, since the locking isnt there to neutralize the bridge's pull, the pegs will be pulled out of tune and you may find urself constantly having to retune every time u play. i suggest purchasing another model without a FR if you dont want locking:)

  • @bloodslushie123 If you want to downtune on a floating bridge your going to spend 20 minutes trying to balance the trem spring tension, and string tension which is a major ballache and the springs probably won't let you go below drop C at their limits, better off either getting two guitars for different tunings or a fixed bridge. But to answer your actual question, yes you can take them off, but that doesn't solve anything.

  • I bought this exact same guitar from the PRO guitar shop, it's such a good looking guitar and delivers awesome tone to rock your socks

  • Thinking about buying one of these but switching out the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader. Is it fairly easy to replace a pickup with this guitar?

  • Fuck yeah, Dio!

  • he's like the coolest guy ever!

  • Hey, If I bought this exact same guitar with all the parts you have on this one. How much would it be? Can I buy it from your store?

  • Killer Technique

  • What is the price range?? I want a floyd rose bridge

  • what`s the name of the song from 4:13?:)

  • @megamix112 Ronnie James Dio - Last In The Line

  • im looking to get a schecter guitar, is this hellraiser C-1

the same as the Schecter Hellraiser Special FR?

  • @darkflameSG no it's not the same, there are two big differences apart from the cosmetic features:

    Different Pickups and Bridge.

The Hellraiser Special FR has a Floyd Rose Special and the Hellraiser C-1 FR has an Original Floyd Rose.

If I were you, I would go for a Hellraiser C-1 FR, since the bridge is better. The Pickups on both guitars are active EMG's. The H. Special has a 81/85 set, and the H. C-1 FR has a 81tw/89 set (with coil tapping). I have the Hellraiser C-1 FR and I love it! :D

  • @Jahusa1234

You just convinced me, I'm lookin for a good Schecter. ty

  • I like this guitar! I don't know if I will buy this or Schecter Damian elite 6. The damian is more cheap >_< but I like the color of this, someone can help me to choose the guitar? thx!

  • Actually, its an EMG 81/85 set....yeeaahhh....

  • mmm, I could eat that guitar.

  • I want one!

  • of all guitars out there, this one is my all time favorite.

  • @FenderrMann I'm sorry for replying maaaaaaddd late. Thanks. I got another guitar anyway. I still want this one though. :D

  • original floyd rose made by schaller???????

  • omg I totally wanna buy this guitar. but now I've got to choose between the hellraiser c-1 (not with fr), damian elite or the omen 6 extreme.

the omen 6 is cheaper, the damian elite is already 200 euros more but looks better and has better specs and the hellraiser is the best but again 250 euros more. is this worth the money?

  • @alkleiza1995 get the Hellraiser :) worth every single cent :)

I got it for 999€, but I'm very happy with it! :D

  • When I first picked this guitar up and played it, it was love at first sight. I was surprised how well the floyd stays in tune. About 1-3 hrs a day of playing, for a week, and still in tune. I have the black cherry fr. Planning to get another :)

  • Hey PGS, what marshall is that??

  • Hey PGS, i want to know, the amp that youre using on this vid is a Marshall Haze 15 or a JCM 800?? Because if is a Haze, I WILL BUY IT NOW!!

  • you should make a video about alternate picking

  • I want to buy this Schecter model but in your Shop is in white Version! Is this intentional?

  • @SilentDownfall - Take another look. We currently have the BCH C-1 FR Hellraiser in stock also. Thanks!

    -PGS Crew

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos I was wondering if you guys could do kramer assault reviews.. I'm kinda interested with the guitar but I don't get much material to research on..

  • What´s the difference between Schecter C-1 FR and Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR ?

  • so, what album is the song at the begining on? XD <--just incase its made up

  • hello, i am extremely interested in this guitar and i wanted to know if you recomend it for lower tunings. have heard that it might sound "muddy" and lose it's clarity.. is that the case? please help thanks.

  • @nikos1992p I've got this guitar and I always run it in drop D and it sounds awesome. I'm pretty sure I've dropped it to drop C before too with no issues. Both pickups are tapable, so you can go single-coil if you desire to get some muddiness out of it. The thing I like most about this guitar is the versatility. You won't be disappointed.

  • Sorry I'm new at buying schecter but how does the schecter c-1 FR blackjack ATX compare to this guitar?

    Thanks

  • @habba9 well the main difference between those two are the pickups. The Hellraiser has active EMG's, the Blackjack ATX has active Seymour Duncan Blackouts. Also the wood of the fingerboard is rosewood (Hellraiser) and the Blackjack has an ebony fingerboard. Other than that, they are the same, only the finishes are different.

I have a Hellraiser C-1 FR in white and I really love it!! Once the tremolo is setup, it stays in tune for weeks!

Now you only have to choose the guitar you prefer. :)

  • Hey i have my schecter hellraiser c1 fr and i just changed the strings maybe a week ago, but it gets out of tune :( i thought it was because thoae tribga were new but now i think i did somethibg wrong ... So if you could help me i would really thank you :D

  • What strings are on there??

  • Do you think a beginner should buy this for their first guitar or should they buy a different one first?

  • @DeathBat111 you should try a guitar that doesnt have a floating bridge, i wouldnt recomend it for beginners :), but you could get this same guitar with string thru the body

  • @DeathBat111 Your first guitar should be a $100-$200 Ibanez, Squire, or something along those lines. The reason I say this is because lots of people buy guitars, then never learn how to play them and use them as decorations in their dorm room lol. A beginner should also never buy a guitar with a Floyd, as they can be frustrating if you don't know how to use them. A Floyd has to be something you know you want. Lots of companies make good quality beginner instruments these days.

  • @OrionLong lol Well turns out I'm getting a Laguna instead XD

  • You changed the key but I hear some nice riffs from Mercyful Fate's Don't break the Oath album in there!

  • Is that floyd good for extreme playing?

  • @Mrravena its good for metal if thats what you mean. all the floyd rose does is give you the ability to divebomb

  • that isn't a flame maple top, its quilted. just wanted to point that out =O

  • would you recommend this one over the prs torero? im having trouble deciding please help!

  • 4:33-4:42 sounds really beautiful and familiar. Is that just an improvisation or is it from a song?

  • awesome demo

  • What's the song in clean??

  • @Pavia91 its from dio- last in line

  • awesome guitar, 1:40 to @ 2:14 reminded me of dime :P

  • @DaDumbassproductions also mike tremonti XD

  • Everybody is talking about floyd roses, is the one on this guitar good?

  • @bumsex4me its an original so yeah that makes it pretty damn good i played this guitar at the shop it was ridiculous

  • I can't believe you played Loudness. That is so fucking awesome.

  • !!!!!I really want to know if this guitar is very highclass ( not cheap at all ), or at a pro level... i really want to a new guitar that can sound great, play great, and last long!!! i would be using it to play metal, everything here check off???? !!!!!

  • i was wondering how long i can play the guitar before it begins to jump out of tune. Thats really my only concern and whether getting the hellraiser without the fr is better than with one.

    Types of music I play:

    Hard Rock

    Metal/Heavy Metal

    Post Hardcore/Escape the Fate type

  • Very pretty. I'm currently prentending like I don't know I'm getting this for Christmas *sheds tear*

  • i got one good question why does your Schecter have a gothic cross on the 24th fret while mine has none, I went to schecter guitar research .com U.S.A. and found that Schecter c-1 fr hellraiser dont have Gothic cross on the 24th.

  • I MUST HAVE ONE

  • Sweet. Im getting the 7 string version soon.

  • Comment removed

  • @axterix173 I have the Syn custom. Get this. I regret buying a signature guitar, I feel like a copycat

  • Check out my guitar cover with this guitar if you want to hear some metal !

  • @omsata this guitar has emg 81/85 tw pickups which allow the coil tapping feature the guy talked about in the vid. This guitar also has a set neck which is better for sustain and the Damien elite is a bolt on another difference is the bridge. The hellraiser has a Floyd rose original vs. the Damien elite has a floyd rose special which is a licensed which aren't as good. So if your looking for something better than the damien elite but cheaper than the hellraiser take a look at the schecter hellr

  • Compared to the Regular C-1 FR... How is the feel and sound comparison? Thanks :)

  • How thick is the neck? and how heavy is it? since both neck and body are mahogany, I bet it's pretty darn heavy.

How's the Damien Elite compared to the Hellraiser Special? (both with the EMG 81\85) tone-wise and weight? is the price difference worth it?

  • what song does he play at 4:12

  • @glubibobi The Last In Line By Dio!!!

  • I would give my left nut to have that guitar and shred like that guy!

  • Can you get a Strat-ish sound with the Coil Tap on this Hellraiser? I play Metal, but love the Strat-sound, trying to find a guitar that can do both for a reasonable price :)

  • covers!!

  • Priest, Dio and Loudness, well done.

  • Hey mate im stuck in a big decision i recently bought a Schecter Blackjack ATX C-1 with ages black paint and seymore duncan blackouts, should i continue with the order or back out and buy a Esp h1001 deluxe

  • @nvdven I noticed the same thing as you. The only difference that I could find was the normal was more expensive and came in a wider variety of colors. Also the normal has emg 81 tw 89 pickups which I think means they can switch between an active pickup and a passive humbucking pickup.

  • well i have a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR and whenever i tune it to E standard i play it then for like the next hour it is slightly out of tune. Why or how might of that happened when the locks are suppose to keep the strings in tune?

  • @chago41591 - Just because you have locking tuners and a locking trem doesn't mean that you'll only have to tune your guitar once. The guitar is an inherently imperfect instrument. Locking tuners and trems help, but strings still stretch and wear and slip slightly. It's just part of being a guitar player. Hope that helps!

    Thanks,

    PGS

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

Yes, but with that being said, I have a Squier HSS Bullet Strat that I upgraded GREATLY. I changed the stock tuners to Planet Waves Self-Trimming Locking Tuners, shaped a new nut out of teflon-impregnated graphite, floated and intonated the bridge, and also replaced countless other parts that improved tonal and cosmetic quality. What I'm getting at is that after stretching the strings and setting it up, my guitar can stay in tune for days even with my playing it every day.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos hello, i am extremely interested in this guitar and i wanted to know if you recomend it for lower tunings. have heard that it might sound "muddy" and lose it's clarity.. is that the case? please help thanks.

  • @chago41591 i hav the same problem :s

  • @chago41591 its actually probably because you tried to tune it without setting the floyd, you can't tune guitars with a floyd the same way you would a normal guitar because if you do it will constatnly go out of tune because the bridge is not set properly and slowly moving

  • @chago41591 if ur strings are semi-new, u should strech the strings out. grab a string in ur fist and put ur thumb straight out on the string and pull up with ur fingers and push with your thumb, not too hard though. retune ur guitar and crank down the nut really good, u shouldnt have anymore problems with it...

  • @chago41591 u probably dont have the tensions equaled out. u need to adjust spring to string tension on the floyd. look up " how to set up a floyd rose."

  • @chago41591 Either you got a lemon or you're doing something wrong. I could dime squeal all day and not go out of tune.

  • @chago41591 You have this amp and you don't know how to set up a guitar? Strings are made of metal...metal expands with heat like any other material...if you lock the strings, either it's your strings or the springs in the back of your guitar need to be replaced and set for the tuning you are in.

  • @chago41591 changes in temperature affect the instrument's tune. this is why a studio must be climate controlled

  • @SuperGuitarNewbie BCH means Black Cherry, as in the paint job

  • damm that guitar is his bitch!!

  • Good review, except for one thing. i really wish you would've done more lead work with the distorted sound than just shredding. Shredding isn't everyone's style, not even every metalhead's style. I for one would have loved to see you show off it's sustain more and play something more expressive sounding with the distortion. I really did love the clean tone, though! I could definitely see myself using something like that.

  • Hey I've got a question: Are the Hellraiser guitars currently made in China? And if yes, does that affect the quality?

  • @Alkinoos7 I believe they're made in South Korea and set up in the USA.

  • What does BCH mean? Please pardon me if this is common knowlege.. Look at my username...

  • @SuperGuitarNewbie It represents the color BlackCherry only

  • @SuperGuitarNewbie BCH means Black Cherry, as in the paint job

  • What does the BCH stand for?

  • what's the tune at 0:50~ playing in the background?

    Nice review =)

  • Dear PGS,

great review, and i am definitely going to buy a hellraiser.

but i found two products : the 'special' and normal hellraiser.

and the difference is 100$ but what is actually the difference between those?

    Thanks for the great review!

  • @NvdVen

The special using EMG 81/85 active pickup with no coil tapping, so you cannot get a good strat like clean sound

  • I've been playing for 6 months aon an acoustic, and I want one of these so badly. The thing is that I want a cheaper guitar, like one from the Ibanez Jumpstart packages first. Which means I'm gong to be waiting a whiiiillleeeee. D:

  • @xxHolyxxWolfsbanexx whatever you do, do not get a floyd rose bridge if youve only been playing for 6 months..

  • Id buy this if there was a hard case available 4 dis guitar other thn the schecter's crap one :(

  • did u gain weight?

  • how come when i coil tap my bridge pickup it make high pitch sound?

  • it sounds out of tune 0:26

  • Amen, I agree to that c-1 fr Hell Raiser is one bad ass guitar. I own one

  • @Leatherlog1 hey... how are the clean sounds? please answer thnx :)

  • @jmdb1994 what i did is I unplug it no nothing just plain guitar believe me there is a lot of sustain as if your playing an acoustic guitar its because of the neck through design even if its unplug it helps when it comes to the Emg's very powerful pick ups watch my video sky has fallen new version on my page go to the last part of the video and youll experience the power of hellraiser

  • 3:13 jud
