  • There is NO strength in ADHD!! It is the other qualities in a person that makes them special and strong...not the ADHD!!! The ADHD only SUCKS.

  • hardly ever gave it a thought; with my partner now its different. I can be more pro active with the knowledge you've given. Thnks for sharing and posting

  • yup i have ADHD !!

  • i love you

  • And for people who DON'T hyper-focus? I've had A.D.D. my whole life, and have never hyper-focused like that. My interest level in something doesn't seem to affect it much...I can't concentrate on anything...ever. And I'm terribly unorganized, to the point of my academic performance suffering a great deal...trying to see a positive...

  • smiletoo do you have ADD? I do. You it can be hell. But talents are nurtured people with ADD can go beyond the norm when it comes to creativety. Believe me I stuggled with it through school and work and even now. I wouldn't trade the way I am for anything.

  • My dad really doesn't realize how much it effects me when he is too negative. I feel bad just thinking about.

  • i never thought be crying watching a video about adhd!! something i feel so lonely, it feels like you don`t fit in the system. Been a adhd adult is not that easy. I`m a psychology student and i don`t even know how im getting good grades at collegue (l think maybe because i found my passion, all my life i^been a bad student) I would like to help people like me. God help me! (hope my writing is good, english is not my first language)

  • Thanks .

  • dont do friends never go outside unless i have to. iam an adult by the way..gave up letting people in because its not worth picking up the bits after when things are turned against you or said behind your back because you dont get things sometimes or little slow in some areas.i trust my gut over fact and some cant understand it and iam tired explaining to people that dont care.anyone that claims to love having adhd in my book does not actually have adhd.its an never ending battle to fit in...

  • You have described me perfectly!!! Its scary! I do over focus on things and I am completely disorganised, I miss appointments, lose things and forget so many things! Its ruining my life when it comes to getting organised to go somewhere, I'm always late!! But the exact opposite can sometimes happen, I am a day early!!! lol got to laugh or I'd cry again and again........

  • It is ashame I can never "hyperfocus" on important things. I beat portal 2 in one sitting, but then again who doesn't. We feel more strongly because there is less inhibition from the prefrontal cortex to the amygdala. Not being able to hide emotions is not a good thing.

  • couldnt have read this at a better time, thanks =)

  • @smiletoowide i totally agree with you on this

  • Wow, thank you very much for putting out these phenomenal videos! I watched them again and again. They are so practical , and intuitive.

  • i don t want to be silly because i allready hate myself but what it the result of borderline and adhd think about it is hellll! and indeed i also hate people that blame me if i tell the truth!!

  • Turning to a "medical" field to have one's moral issues transformed into medical ones. This fact makes for some thirteen million Americans on some form of state dole for disability from "mental illness" (over 500,000 of those recipients being children, whose families collect on their behalf!) So, assuming that your failure is medically "explained", has been your psychiatric (medical) absolution. Believing in ADHD, and, mental illness as "disease" states, is no more than an article of faith.

  • brilliant instructions thanks for sharing, have anybody tried Revlons new range of products?? its not easy to obtain makeup in Lusby but you can receive some brilliant samples of make-up via "Gratis-Makeup-Samples", there ace.

  • Adult ADD is a nighmere... I found myself pushing a broom for a living at age 50 when I learned that adults retain ADD. So I got diagnosed. Pills are another nigtmere. But I'm working it out. I find that I have to get my hands into things to keep on track. I figure it out on paper first, then I follow my game plan, and now I am doing more managerial things at work. But because of ADD, I got off to a bad start in life and I will live in poverty because of it.

  • @ThomasDeLello Sounds like you put the cart before the horse: assuming that your lot in life had to be a "symptom" or part of a disease sydrome. Then, as it appears, you sought out to have confirmed what you had already (tacitly) confirmed yourself; namely, that your feelings of dis-ease surely was "disease". The GP or shrink, by treating your problems in living, as one would disease, has effectlively altered the individual, thereby altering the social. And you, are "medically" reintegrated.

  • @whiff1962

    Huh...?!

  • Really scared I will be alone all through life becaue of this.....but this made me fee l better:)

  • @nettieforpeace nah you wont. Just use your intuition and have fun. We are fun! :P

  • Thank you....People have been so mean to me :) Hurts my feelings even at 47 the horrible things people have said to me....

  • There are some positive sides to this disorder. But, you have to learn how to manage the disorder. It's NOT easy.

  • @smiletoowide

I've just been diagnosed and I've just been blown away by how much I can attribute my frequent past failures to it (I try not to blame everything on it, but a lot fits). I've just been walking around in a confused fog recently, the thought that the way I think is fundamentally different from other people, fundamentally flawed even, is so hard to grasp. Why would I think my brain's different, I had no basis for comparison.

Dammit now I need to restart the video again.

  • I have had ADHD for 37 years and this works for me. I take L-theanine two times a day. Roughly about 400mg in the morning and about 1:00 p.m. . You feel calm, alert, and focused. For those of you that suffer from ANY form of anxiety, I highly recommend, " The Linden Method "! If I get depressed ice cream helps and humor works the best for social situations. Other than reading alot of Wayne Dyer, this is the best program for me after years of searching. God I hope someone gets a hold of this.

  • Tank you fore bringing up the posetive side..!

  • i find it worse when you deal with people that think they know what add is and try tell you how to do things..like your stupid or something..add is different for everybody..i have a very strong gut feeling..99%of the time i am right..just hate being told i should do this or that because they read somewhere this is how you deal with people with add...

  • @RIDGEBACK890 I had a couple of friends who tried to tell me ADHD wasn't that bad. But, the 1 positive thing that came out of it is they taught me I can't use ADD as an excuse all the time. It's actually funny I was thinking of the positive sides last night all though its mostly negative. I like the creative part of it I came up with my best jokes when I didn't take medication.

  • your so right. you took the words out of my mouth.

    monstermke

  • I don't see anything negative about my ADHD...its a huge advantage for me...hate when people keep talking about it as it was cancer

  • Person's who don't understand ADHD,,are so fast to judge and make fun of,,which causes alot of anger in the ADHD person. I'm very tired of people at work telling me that my ADHD is an excuse!

  • Yeah! i'm sick of people saying i am using it as an excuse for being a total screw up!

  • @metalobsessedl tell me about it.... "you're just making excuses for your laziness" if i have a quater everytime im told that.... anyways, im fighting this alone, since none of my relatives, family or friends recognize this... but its so damn hard

  • @metalobsessedl maybe you dont have the suitable dose yet??

  • @TheNYdoctor No, I tried 5 different meds and none worked, so my Dr. told me I just have to learn to live with ADHD, since my previous comment 2 years ago , I not working any more, and I'm relying on a Disability Income for my ADHD/Anxiety/Depression/Sleep Apnea/bad back.............and we're suspecting Bipolar and/or Personality Disorder.

  • @metalobsessedl send me ur email if u can ?!!

  • Hmmmm..I never thought about the hyper focus and tirelessness but it's true.

I had a boss once who would get me angry just to activate those traits in me when he needed me to be Mr. Super Technician and turn me loose on a problem. The jerk knew exactly what he was doing! LOL!! omgaaawd!

  • If you need help go to a special ADHD ADD doctor not a common. Musikmaking helps me a lot check my channel. Maybe join a ADHD selfhelp group in your region.

  • The collective string is that psychiatry, and its allied fields, is a disorder.

  • Tripe score on all these ADHD videos is very high indeed.

  • I can't tell you how helpful your video series on ADHD has been for me and my family. At the age of 32, I was just recently diagnosed with ADHD. All this time, I figured everyone dealt with the same things in there head, only they had figured out how to conquer it. Up until now, I took total responsibility for all my actions and thoughts; resulting in a horrible self image. I look forward, finally, to a brighter future. Thank you and keep up the great work!

  • I took total responsibility for all my actions and thoughts: So now you have been unburdened with Personal responsibility, and the MH profession can chalk up another victory of deceit? What brighter future do you look forward to, now that you have been labeled? Does it include the legalized dumping of drugs into your brain? (In)frequent visits to a counselor or shrink?

"...I figured everyone dealt with the same things in there head: Good luck divining the intentions and conscious of others.

  • Um... ouch, I think...

  • yeah. science wins over religious guilt cos it's based in fact. society evolves... not sure what your point is.

understanding that we are a product of our genes and environment doesnt remove responsibility, it just helps us understand and forgive(Jesus's favourite concept, yet so many Christians forget about it) ourselves, making it easier for us to make changes..

guilt and self-hatred don't make you a better person..

oh and 'pharmacratic state' is ridiculous..

  • oh and 'pharmacratic state' is ridiculous? In what sense? And as much as one would like to see the scientific endeavor(the product of the human mind, lest we forget) as above the fray of superstitition and meer speculation, psychiatric "medicine" fails on many accounts to cleave to the tools of science. And unless you have availed yourself to read into the psychiatric critique, and are conversant with the historicity of psychiatric praxis and discourse, you will not hold a balanced view.

  • it's ridiculous to suggest that medicine directs people's lives in the way that religion used to. Medicine informs and advises, Religion indoctrinates.

And no, medicine is not just another form of indoctrination, because it bases its claims on facts and research, which you are free to query.

ADHD has been the focus of plenty of scientific research, but as a relatively recent discovery, yes there are still certain unknowns.. But i don't know why you question its entire existence.

  • You obviously have a good degree of native intelligence. However, you are failing to note the distinction that I am trying to draw between general(internal) medicine, and the discourse that is psychiatry. There is much to be discussed about the latter, too much to said in a back and forth, but feel free to PM if you'd like. Psychiatry is a mode of social control, much as the church was centuries ago. Draw your own conclusions, but read more before you do so. Read Thomas Szasz, for starters.
