the KB 2.2l is the loudest of the bunch now. Can only be purchased used. Now KB makes the 2.6l (replaced the 2.2l) and the KB 2.8 (replaced the 2.4l race version). Both are a lot quieter but more efficient from what I've seen (which counts the most obviously hah). Whipple has the 2.3l and the 3.4l. At the end of the day either KB or Whipple will perform for what you need it to. They look different, I personally like both. But Whipples can be had for cheaper new for new against kb so thats a +
