  • It sounds as though you've modded one or both Leslies for 2-speed. They do not sound "dry." Nice presentation.

  • @fstanley35 no, they're both single speed. I don't think I used the rotary on this number but when I use two leslies together, because they spin at slightly different speeds they seem to cancel each other out. haven't figured out how to get around this.

  • @tonespinner So, you're saying the two Leslies are out of phase with one another....hmmmm! Well, it sounds REALLY NICE to my ears. Perhaps your chorus vibrato setting (sounds like C3) adds that extra richness I am hearing.

  • @fstanley35 yes, the vib/chorus was C-3. the extra "richness' you describe comes from the field coil bass speaker on the 44-W Leslie. they're really better in my opinion. PM (permanent magnet) speakers were developed because they are cheaper to manufacture. PS: The Leslies are indeed out of phaze with each other when I use the rotary.

  • @tonespinner The story goes that field coil speakers tend to be bass-heavy. You've got a really good sound there. I look forward to future videos.

    Thanks!

  • Great work! "Softly" is one of my favorite numbers, and you played it excellently.

  • Great playing, and I can hear the 44W in the bass :-)

  • Hey man! Nice playing.

  • @JazzDMA Love your stuff too, man. In what part of the world do you live? Maybe we could be friends.

  • @tonespinner I'm in Kentucky. You are on the west coast, right? Thanks for checking out my music.

  • @JazzDMA Yeah, I'm in Portland, Oregon
