  • Cool, after reading all the comments read those were SD80's. (and no, i will never understand why Conrail was the only one to get them. If i still modeled my railroad would have plenty of them) The way they went by i thought they were newer EMD's. Was going to ask if you caught flak for putting fallen flag paint on new units. Years ago was railfanning & talked to a guy who told me of seeing a then new D9-44CW painted L&N & how it pissed him off. Really?? Hell i love to see "what ifs" like that.

  • Thats funny as Intermountain Railway is making GE ES44AC locos in fallen flag names like Atlantic Coast Line, Burlington, Conrail, Rio Grande, Santa Fe. Athearn made the GP60M in CR, UP, BN, and CN, F59PHI in PRR, Southern, SP, ATSF too.

  • @mgwsy Cool. Yeah, i will always remember that. He told me about seeing the engine painted L&N and while i quickly though about how cool it must have looked with a straight face he talked about how mad it made him that someone did that. I was completely dumbfounded. Modelrailroading is supposed to be FUN. As long as the person makes a legit effort and doesn't half ass it, its fine with me.

  • I like to see the old CAST and BN containers. I think I even saw a Walther's box. You don't see many of those...

  • Cool train man. Also, love the operating lights and gates at the crossing. :3

  • Wonderful! I like those gates! Nice touch!

  • Awesome crossing and layout! I thought when the gates went back up that red SUV was going to proceed across the tracks!

  • What's the minimum radius for those intermodal wagons? Mine keep on derailing for some reason.

  • Wow nice layout, good weathering on the locos too

  • isnt he going a vit to fast???

  • I was raised across the tracks from the SP train depot. The Kaiser Steel ore train, Pacific Fruit Express Reefers, Sugar Beet Gondolas and SP passenger Sunset Limited would rattle the windows and rumble by. Since all I have room for is an 8' or so module of scenery, I am recreating a video setting similar to this view but with the Wig-Wag signals, SP depot in the background and our "shack by the RR tracks" on the near side. Simplicity in detail gave your video realism. Good Job.

  • FINALLY, somebody that DOESNT drive their train 1/2 mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First of all may i say GOOD JOB!!!! You are to be commended for your attention to detail. I have got 2 sets of walthers doubled lane cantilevered signals that flash like yours on my home lay-out. After seeing your gates close then open again i am definitly now, going to try and tackle this wonderful detail next, and add these gates next to my crossing lights. Thanks & again GOOD JOB:):):):):):)

  • Where did u get the signal gates???? I want them for my train set!

  • there from NJ International.

  • They are by Signalogic Systems but are currently out of production.

  • I'm giving out 5 stars also! Great video!

  • One of the most realistic HO Intermodals on this site. Everything looks weathered but not carried away and I love the smoke stack stain on the container at 0:37. 5 stars man.

  • Awesome, were those Sd 80's as I think Conrail was the only railroad to order them.

  • very cool

  • Great job and i like the shot to awesome video

    5*

  • Those Signalogic gates are so amazing! I want them so badly!

  • awsome i love the SD80macs

  • i was convinced until the engineer came blowing thru the crossing with no horn. unless he rigged the alerter button so he could take a snooze. really nice job with the set.

  • Nope, a Quiet Zone!!! LOL

  • Cool!

  • SD80MAC

  • Cool! How do the crossings do that!

  • I have those SP well cars

  • Are the crossing gates from Bachmann?

  • the rumbling of the container cars along with the rubbing sounds on the grade crossing sound almost like the real thing!!!

  • Love how those gates work!!!

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good wiring on the signals tell me how you did em

  • When are you going to post new videos. I subscribed

  • Very cool,very realistic #5

  • i like your vids ill subscribe

  • GREAT! But I think some of your intermodal are catching on the track.

  • No that is the backs of the wheels rubbing on the roadway in between the rails.

  • Really Nice work!

  • the whole train looked so real

  • now that is one sweet crossing!

  • The crossing signals and gates are made by Signalogic,Kevin does a great job with these signals.

  • absolutelty awesome. props on the 40+ car train, and obviously the gates are incredible. wish i had the money to get some. do they make them in N scale?

  • There are a few different ones for N scale.. msg me if you want more info on them

  • overall great video

  • Nice scale signals! They look so life like!

  • bravo

  • sweet! all of it.

  • Those crossing gates are awesome!

  • if you're going to build your own house then why not grab a few hundred of these nice ones while your at it.

  • what was the track number on those crossings

  • awsome loved it

  • I can hardly tell it's fake

  • man, this is sick, i want something like this !

  • i am impressed, very nice layout

  • i'd be pissed if i was in that red car

  • god how big is the lay out over 40 cars jeeze

  • Great Vid and gates, now all you need is sound in the locos so you can honk for the crossing. A+

  • How much were the crossing signals?

  • They are about $139.99-$249.99

  • Dam, what the hells up with that! Guess that's one thing my train layouts not gonna have until way into the future! Like 30-40 years into the furtue (if I'm going to build my own house and set up a layout in a basement!) but, I don't mind! I'll stick with the 20 dollar plastic no light crossing! FUN!

  • I seen some pretty decent ones at walthers . com

  • Ok, I'll check it out!

  • Signalogic Systems makes the crossing signals.

  • Wow,amazing detail, those crossings are soooo realistic. Who makes them?

  • I like that background.

  • Who makes thoes gates?
