This is such an important scene. I can relate to it. My Mom is so loving and much more respectful that Lindsay's Mother. However, to 95% of my loved ones, my lesbian relationship is considered "less than" and not "the same" or as significant as the relationships that I had with men in my past. This relationship is the most mature, real, loving and healthy relationship that I have ever had. It hurts that my loved ones can't or won't be happy for us.

Lindsay cheated on Mel with a MAN and Mel couldn't forgive her for it. It's a bit heartbreaking that Lindsay and Mel broke up because they were one of the most committed couples of the gang but luckily they get back together towards the end of season 5
