  • Are they talking in Slovakian because it sounds like Polish and some words i understand because im polish.

  • @12kamilol that's Russian. For some reason.

  • @12kamilol that's definitely russian, not slovakian :)

  • Awesome...

  • Dramatic

  • One cool thing I noticed about Fong in this video series which I own... I put a mark with dry-erase felt pen on my TV screen at the spot in the air where he finishes a motion like the tan sau... he finishes precisely at the same point each & every time. This attests to the time & attention he has put in to train the small muscles to follow exact pathways; never straying.

Under pressure(ie in a fight) his motions would fairly operate on their own.

  • I'm tired of people arguing about which martial arts school is the best. It is more about what one makes of it and which style suits the respective person the best. I've done quite a lot of different martial arts and I don't feel that one of them is superior. There are only single personalities that might be superior, but I think that doesn't depend so much on the style, so stop arguing.^^

  • ouffffffffff you look like mao Ping

but you forgot the first move of the siu lim tao

  • that guy's chi sao is no joke.

  • Karate came from Chinese Kung Fu. Wing Chun came from Shaolin. When Shaolin temple was becoming famous for their Kung Fu, the Japanese was still eating with their hands. Japan was still in their Neolithic period.

  • Wing chun is weak. Karate is way superior. Most of wing chun's forms were taken from Karate. You guys need to do your RESEARCH!

  • @gorfjorf2112 karate comes from kung fu you imbecile.

  • @gorfjorf2112 Karate was developed some 200 years ago and brought to Japan's mainland some 100 years ago. Shaolin kung fu several hundred years at least. Moreover a true martial art practitioner has to exhibit martial art morals.

  • @gorfjorf2112 Do you have links to that research?

  • Very happy to see How Sifu Fong does his Siu Lim Tao; he is my Si Tai Gung, so it helps to understand.

    Thank you for posting.

  • this kung fu is great

  • @ivanmartell6662 You're wrong. Karate is way better. I bet I can kick your ass and I've only watched Karate videos. Never even taken a class. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

  • @gorfjorf2112 man i can kick your ass everday of the week you are nothing i tired of guys like you just talk to much and not figth

  • @gorfjorf2112 LMAO!! You funny.

  • I was lucky enough to study for about 4 years under one of Fong's students, great stuff! I believe his senior students still teach at his school in arizona.

  • From 2:42 on it's so fast! Being an instructional vid it was not necessary to do it that fast.

  • @vockla if you watch the original tapes, (which i have), he does the forms at different speeds. this guy just happened to post the faster one.

  • how long are you suppose to practice everyday?

  • That is really very very good. The ging(inch energy) he develops is pretty impressive.

The only main difference from this, and Siu Lim Tao as Ip man and his lineage performs it is the double punch at around 2:47. There are also very slight nuance differences, but other than that - pretty pure :)

  • Augustine Fong is Ip Man lineage, so tell me what principles are different?

  • Well I dont claim to fully understand a lineage that may be slightly different to my own.

However, one example of what i mean is that at around 2:50, Sifu Fong does a pak sau (not from the wu sau guard but from lower down, making it a much larger and slower movement). This then moves into a tan sau, that is in line with his shoulder, and not the centreline. Im sure there is an application for this, but not one im aware of.

  • Especially tan sa to the shoulder, and not centreline. This is, theoretically a bad idea. While it may be necessary to tan to there against certain attacks, the imporant principal of sil lim tao is to have control over your centreline. This is partly because anything outside of that can be easily adapted to, FROM the centre line.

I hope that answers your question as to my point of view :)

  • @ozzie1246 The motion your refering to at the 2:50 mark is the begining of the third part of Siu Lim Tao. Sifu Fong starts with a Kao sau --- Outer jut, not a Tan sau ---Chan jeong. There are different variations of forms, what is important above all is that you understand and are able to digest the whole system. Many people and schools spend time arguing about why they can't agree on specific motions. Learn the whole system then you'll see how it comes together. You'll see the whole picture.

  • That SIU LIN TAO I'm learning.

  • Niceely done, done in Yip man's style

  • Master Fong you're Awesome!

  • russian

  • what lineage is it ?

  • a rather tense one, pick one.. Ip Chun, Ip Ching, WSL, Leung Ting, whoever...

  • I believe it is Yip Man linage. It's exactly the same as the form I practice at my school which is also Yip Man lineage. The only difference is there's a section here with simultaneous high and low punches. That could have just been added in by someone though. There are tons of guys doing their own modified Wing Chun. Yip Man only died in the early 70s. Yet among his famous students, almost all of them do it slightly differently, some of them a lot differently!

  • Yeah! like leung ting

  • it is Fong Chi Wing aka Augustine Fong, one of THE foremost expert of WC.

I personally feel he's the very best there is :)

  • Im very interested in whom you compare Fong Chi Wing to other WC experts. Have you met for instance Wan Kam Leung? and have you trained or attended one of his seminars? This SLT form on this vid has a lot in common with the Leung Ting style wich i have trained in for 5 years. so i have some comparison with this style and other WC styles derived from the Ip Man senior students :D

Kind kungfu regards from the Netherlands

  • this is yip mans version

  • it is?

  • Fong was taught by Ho Kam Ming who was Yip Man's student, although he changed some things.

  • Ahahaha! Yep i've thought the same thing, but after a year passed in a Gym tring Wing Chun I've cheanged my ideas...trust me!(sry for my english)

  • The only prob I see is that u should never straighten your arm in a gan sau, thats the way u get your elbow snapped. I've never seen the double punch at the end either but it can't hurt to have it

  • hi, i was a practitionner under fong's lineage, in Ottawa, canada. I can confirm that no, the elbow must not over-extend, its intentional for the video, many other details are intentionaly wronged in them. I can assure you, that Fong truly deserves the title ''Master''. He focuses on wing chun's internal aspects(structures, timing, sensitivety and then physical tactics...a more external part), without em, we could only speak of outwardly imitating the motions.

  • @GDragon9666 How can you call this man a Master if he teaches things "Intentionally wrong." That is just messed up to mislead any student. Especially one who is buying his videos! If that is true what you said; then I have no respect for this man. If he wants to hold the art a secret then do NOT sell videos!

  • @GDragon9666 I agree with you, I always got taught never to hyper-extend as it was more of a close quarters combat and that wouldn't of succeed if you were to hyper-extend in close quarters :)

  • @KingersXD

indeed, opponents will have to come to you to reach you, so keeping the elbow on the line keeps it in strong position, ''connected'' to the dan tien as it would.

  • In my experience this is a sloppy version of the form.

  • What I love about Wing Chun is how they all go on about it's high levels of authenticity and accuracy, yet not one Wing Chun school agrees with another about the motions in the forms or their applications. Just beautifully, hypocritically, ridiculous how styles encage the devotee to them.

  • I went to one of Fong's seminars about 10 years ago. There was a group of Judoka from England at the seminar. During the lunch he allowed to put him in various chokes and holds of their choosing, and he escaped from each one, even though the smallest of the guys outweighed him by 50 lbs.

  • i find this siu lim tao of master fong with some similarities to mine. yet still i'm looking and searching my own lienage. his siu lim tao is fantastic.

  • Sifu Fong is of the Yip Man lineage under his Sifu, Ho Kam Ming, considered one of Yip Man's top students. You may be under the same lineage.

  • Master Fong, any school in Las Vegas?

  • I know a guy that is a certified instructor here in LV. Doesn't teach but I've been trying to talk him into it. I have trained with him on and off for a few years now. He is of Fong's lineage.

  • Sifu Fong is is one of the best Wing Chun masters in the world ! Just my opinion and I've trained with him and touched his hands. BTW He's also a great man.

  • were his hands soft and sensual? just kidding :)

Lucky you. I have no wing chun sifu around where i live and i am always envious of those who get to train with the elite.

  • KUNG FOO FIGHTING!!!!!!!

    p.s. té sexy

  • has anyone got a video of DAI lim tau

    (psst....its a secret form)

    please put it on youtube

  • Why don't you put it???

(I will not tell it's you).

  • hello chapayru, did you ever think of saying who's doing the form here ? this is the least you could do... did you ask my sifus permit? not nice... Aaron Davidovic

  • This is Augustine Fong- see Rottwang2's reply.

  • Just to clarify, the man in the video is Augustine Fong. I am not Fong, I'm a meager beginner trying to learn Siu Lim Tao.

Again, the man in the video is Augustine Fong.

I can see that I may have confused people b/c of the way I responded before.

  • dude i train under tony brooks who was taught by ip ching and has mastered 5 different types of wing chun. top dog shit right here.

  • good form!

  • Sweet. This is from the Panther series (now available for only $10 a DVD!) Although its good to see the forms, some of A. Fong's Panther DVDs aren't so hot. Some are just him doing techniques w/ no explanation, guidance or commentary. Oh well. Good to see this on YouTube, though.

  • Mr.Fong is one of the top Third Generation (as Yip Man is the First)Wing Chun master in the World, he was already famous in the '60s by his real kung fu, regardless how much this DVD is sough now, you can see his performance, body straight, the hand holding the fist right up high, finger close, eyes & body don't move. You can tell he got very good foundation, come through very straight, serious training.Believe me, only back in the old days got that kind of training, now no more.

  • Yup- Mr. Fong is the man!

  • Thanks for this information. I've gone to the century martial arts site and bought the first 4 parts to his Panther series. It helps to be studying with someone who can show you the applications. Also, at 2:13 there is a very low English speaking voice that explains some of the fundamentals of the Wing Chun system. You'll hear him say "power is the direct result of structure and timing" at about 2:35 or so.

  • Augustine Fong, (Fong Chi-Wing) student of Ho Kam-Ming, who was a student of Yip Man.

  • What's czech for wing tsun ?

  • Fish in!! Brah ha ha ha!:)

  • A.FONG

  • I'm sorry I still haven't figured it out: Is it Siu Lame Tau performed by A Dong or A Gong?
