beautiful i was super scared of sharks then when i went to the aquariam foe the first time when i was like 9 years old i was shocked to see how nice and beautiful and if i were 7 now i wouldn't be watching this video now im 10 years old and i want to save these ceartures from finning so help the sharks ok bye oh and on march 22,2010 on monday im going to the aquariam the montery bay aquaraim yay
The tank was built in 1996, and was primarily designed just for Pacific bluefin and Pacific yellowfin tuna, as well as bonito, Pacific mackerel, Pacific Barracudas, and Black sea turtles. However, the tank depth corresponded to the diving patterns tracked in baby white sharks, and we were able to aclimate them in ocean pens near Malibu to see if they could slowly adapt to a temporary captive environment. After several weeks or 6 months maximum, they were tagged and released.
oh those powerful genes are just raring to kill seals and rule the ocean. Also the teeth and gums..need meat dangling, with blood stains everywhere around the mouth lol then he will be like his parents
Oh my go a i had to wipe a tear from my eye, to see a baby great white leap out and take that bait..its one the most beautiful thing i have seen . Even at such a young age..he just took that bait..like his forefathers and foremothers lol
OMG are those baby great whites??? so cute! wow i never knew they had conservation like this. So they will put them back in the ocean when they are like a few foot in size right? how did they even find Great white female pregnant or great whites mating. amazing.
You guys had a Great White pup? How is it doing, is it still there, or did it get released, because from what I've heard, Great White's haven't had a very good track record in captivity.
Reading their blog, it sounds like they only keep a Great White for max 6 month and then release it and bring in a new one, so they are constantly rotated. When they release it they tag it and track it in the wild.
Hi, I have a question I would love to be answered. When feeding the Great White Shark, it goes straight for the dead fish, so how come the Shark isn't interested in all the live fish in his/her tank? And has the Shark ever attacked a keeper or another live animal.
well, I think i could maybe help you with the first part. Theres certain fish in the sea that these sharks and other sea critters know have a disguisting taste, and they probably know if theyve been living in captivity long enough that theyll get fed a few times a day. Or to me at first, those shadows under water are just the same shadows as the fish.
my aunt works there she explained... see the shark doesn't aways go for the dead fish min fact it mostly doesn't eat that much.. plus when the shark did go after a fish one time they decide the shark mayb getting to big so thats when they considered relaseing it
it seems like that's the perfect amount to hold juvenile whites because no other place ever pulled it off. i remember when i was like 10 and they tried to house a larger juvenile white at steinhardt in a tiny tank. now that seems like cruelty to me, what on earth were they thinking?
oh well. i guess that's why our aquarium is the best. =]
i really want to go to monterey bay. but i live in england. ive researched flights and everything of how to get there but im only 15 :( my dream is to see a great white shark. I either go cage diving when im older. or visit Monterey bay :( I Love These Animals. I Would love to work with them everyday. Give me a job? lol :(
aww :( I go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium all the time, and he is defiantly a great spectacle to see. I hope you make it over, and will be able to see him, along with all the other great things in the Monterey Bay!
I love this video, but do you have any videos of your new little guy that you just got on Aug 28th? He's VERY elusive on the bay cam! Usually since he's at the top, you can only see the very tips of his fins! Frustrating!
If you like sharks check out adoptashark(dot)com it´s a website where you can adopt a shark, even a great white, with a satellite tag and they tell you where it went in the ocean, how deep, and more, very cool
i went to go see that, and it was cool that it was actually a great white, but they had tuna in the same million gallon tank that were the same size....but you can tell the great white owned the tank
I couldn't resist saying aww at 0:06. It's just like it's adult parents ^^

Most likely you saw the Georgia Aquarium. Their main tank has 3 whale sharks and over 70,000 fish. It holds 6.3 million gallons.

it goes for the dead fish because sharks are lazy so they prefer dead prey because it is easyer to get
