The time will start when the camera starts recording and will stop when the camera stops recording. If you follow the instructions to the video, it will appear to work, but wait an hour or so and try it again. The time will restart at wherever you left off at the end of the first video you recorded.

How To Update Time Automatically

1) Connect the camera to computer via USB cable

2) Download GetSysTime at h ttp:// diganet.net /downloads . htm l

3) Click GetSysTime . exe to update the date and time, after this, the time of the camera will synchronize with the time of computer when you restart it again.

sorry but it doesn't work for me. first of all i've got windows. from the block notes i create a nex txt file in the same format that you showing, but then when i open the file... nothing i've still have the old date... maybe is cause i'm in europe and the dat format is different?

No luck here. This thing seems like more trouble than it's worth. Also, in mine the folders at the root directory are IMAGE and VIDEO, not DCIM like in the video.

@jc4u2nvme It works exactly the same on a PC, unless you got one of the factory rejects on ebay. It won't work on them.

This really works. Mine was a cheap ebay one with s micro SD slot, the only instructions were on the sellers page and said to use a file called "set time", that's complete BS. These instructions worked. NICE ONE.

Hey I got one from hobbyking as far as I can tell its the exact same apart from the folders. Yours has a DCIM but mine has a IMAGE and then a VIDEO with a RECORD folder in each which is where it saves things. In the video it also has a VLT folder with 2 files in it. I tried this and put it beside the IMAGE and VIDEO folders but it didnt work. My date is 1980 : /

This works if you follow th video exactly. I had to ensure that I used [ ] not( ) brackets. the note pad worked, however when you save you'll get (*.txt) . Delete the * and replace with (TAG.txt) . Then you should be good to go.

@action571 It does not work on the factory rejects sold on eBay for $1, or the ones with the built in memory. Ours is the high resolution version with clear video and audio with no meeps, murps, noises, or underwater sounds. Otherwise you are SOL. We specifically carry the best ones that have the ability to adjust the time & date.

But can you take the dat off? As for the file. It dissapears after you created the file and set the new date and time. Seems like everytime you want to change it you make a new file.

@natvic76 When the .txt file disappears it means that it took. If you did it wrong, the file will still be there. The cheap ones on ebay do not work with this technique, though it won't hurt to try.

open notepad on pc type in [date] underneath type 2010/02/18

under that type 11:32:00 etc whatever time is save as TAG.text in documents plug camera in and put that next to dcim not in it beside it turn cam off do a video then turn off plug in ur date will change done mine yesterday

then 2010/02/18

11:32:00 then save in documents as TAG.text on your camera when u have dcim put tag.text next to it turn of then do a video turn of again plug in your time will change done mine yesterday
