I just stumbled upon this on a fall afternoon while enjoying a cold beer. I thought it would be the version I heard as a boy, but to my surprise, it was Dionne on film. What a treat. I was a freshman in high school when this was released and this is was one of my favorites from the early seventies. My taste in music was very different from the average teenage boy from those days.
Effortless mastery of the craft of vocal performance. Nothing is so sublime as hearing Dionne float breathlessly between head & chest voice on this taping. This is not the record version she is singing live in a studio and doing so as well as anyone ever did "live". Not a big hit for Dionne but "Who Gets the Guy?" a quintessential Bacharach/David composition.. If anyone doesn't get Bacharach/David/Warwick I would play this tune, "Say a Little Prayer and maybe "The Beginning of Lonliness".
Class, class, class - Dionne and Bacharach/David! I thought this was Dionne miming to the record, but I think it was recorded specially for this telecast.
This gives me chills.........In a time when so many vocalists were disgracing this business, Dionne was the epitome of class and elegance. Her stunning stage presence and beauty, coupled with THAT voice made for Bacharach/David songs crashed through all racial and generation barriers.
Just flawless

@mkbell2003 Uhhh......it wasn't dated 40 years ago, and it was being wore by the highest selling female vocalist at the time.
