This show was my first exposure of anime back when I was around 12 years old. My dad used to tape the mortal combat series that was on channel 4 at about one in the morning and this was on before it. As a young teen in the late 90's this was the most violent cartoon I'd ever saw and I loved it. Been hooked to anime since. The channel 4 version had a different opening though. This is a much better one. YOU WA SHOCK!!!

@elShoggotho I mostly agree, except JoJo's plagiarism from Hokuto no Ken is VERY obvious in the first two parts of the manga. As it went on and Araki matured as an artist, it became it's own thing. But in the beginning, he was a young inexperienced artist literally ripping off Hokuto no Ken.
