I did a Datura tea in the eighties, I was tripping for 3 days, talking to people that weren't there, having imaginary parties with guys that kept vanishing, I was totally out of control. I have two Brugmansias i just bought on ebay a few weeks back. They rooted from cuttings and i got them in the mail about four days ago. I potted them the first day i got them and they are doing pretty good. I cant wait until the flower.

I work in a prison and the powers that be decided to hire someone to come in and landscape the place. They planted these things all over and it wasn't long before we were sending guys to the hospital TRIPPIN'. This stuff will KILL you if you guess wrong about the dosage. Didn't look like they were enjoying the buzz at all.

I will try it...eventually. The flour has less alkaloids then the leaves and roots, so you would need a lou to say, wander out and be hit by a bus. It is toxic to eat, smoking, noone knows. Some think it is like tobacco(eating ciggerets wil kill you). Be careful, explore your mind, respect the plant, thank the earth.

There is another plant that looks like the morning glory except it opens at night and it is called a moon flower. However it is a common name. Datura are also sometimes called moon flowers. For resons like this, scientic names were made.

I did a Datura tea in the eighties, I was tripping for 3 days, talking to people that weren't there, having imaginary parties with guys that kept vanishing, I was totally out of control. I count myself very lucky I wasn't killed, injured or busted while intoxicated. Never ever again, this stuff is just way too heavy!

The two species of Jimson Weed found in the Mojave Desert according to "The Jepson Desert Manual" are listed as Datura discolor and Datura wrightii. This specimen appears to be D. wrightii. D. inoxia is mentioned in "A California Flora and Supplement" by Munz in association with D. meteloides and both are, I gather from his discussion on page 95 of the supplement that was added in 1968, previous designations for D. wrightii.

Absinthe? I don't know about that? The chemicals that cause the hallucinations are said to be atropine or scopalamine depending on which species of Datura you're talking about.

These guys were maybe three feet high, but they spread out to a diameter of about seven feet. Usually in the wild they aren't quite this big, but sometimes they are depending on available water.

I have two Brugmansias i just bought on ebay a few weeks back. They rooted from cuttings and i got them in the mail about four days ago. I potted them the first day i got them and they are doing pretty good. I cant wait until the flower.

It's not mythical. Datura put me into a state of dementia for a few hours once. NOT FUN OR SAFE. Not colorful, magical, or happy at all, as many thrill seeking kids seem to think. I've seen a bunch of videos here of kids playing with hallucinagenic plants. I will never play with them again. My family and I are plant nerds too. We have a variety of different daturas at home. Just for looks now though.
