  • Can you smoke any part of the plant (seed, flower, roots, leaves)?

  • @peaceofearth420 Not a good plant to experiment with! Plenty of deaths associated with this plant, but it does have pretty flowers!

  • kim morrison couldnt handle datura, becuase one doesnt "handle" datura, they ride it.

  • dude you are a genius.....i can no longer remember the original lyrics...

i have them in my garden in Malawi, Africa.

p.s. yes of course i've tried them. fresh they taste like lettuce. i ate one flower and the rest of that day was a bit odd.

  • Everybody just takes way to much. Some people never learn. Its takes nothing at all to work.

  • beautiful song..but..no..no...this is the evil plant!!!Don't take this!!! Atropine and Scopolamine is very dangerous!!!!

    Ps:who is this song?

  • kill this plant till it's extinct.

  • @FreeBeDrug Why? It's an awesome plant. Those stupid enough to abuse the plant are the ones who deserve to be extinct.

  • @blackturtleshow i am talking about datura. Datura is bad for you. That is a fact. Datura causes dehydration, and people have died from it. Morning Glory on the other hand is a different story. Blackturtleshow, are you talking about datura or MG?

  • @FreeBeDrug Why kill the plant just because STUPID people have died from it? As I said in the description for this video, Jimsonweed is deadly, but that has nothing to do with the value of the plant. It's a beautiful plant and if people want to experiment with it as a way to get high then they can deal with the outcome of that. As for morning glory, I'm sure it's a beautiful plant, but I'm not interested in ingesting that one either (even if it is somewhat less toxic).

  • @blackturtleshow I see what you are saying. You stand by the positive aesthetic value of the plant, and make a distinction from the negative physiological effects. Interesting argument. I have never thought of that b4. In that case, i change my initial opinion: you CAN appreciate the plant, but still don't ingest it. Good shit.

  • Don`t eat poisonous plants kids!

  • DOES SOMEONE SMOKE LEAVES AND FLOWER OF DATURA?EXPERIENCE?

  • a flower that blooms at nite sounds like something evil to me

  • That is not a moonflower...

  • @Dzakovich000

it is a moon flower, there are many varieties, each variety has a different look, the same variety will grow differently and look slightly different based on its locality, moon flowers are very versatile like that

  • @fancygremlin That's Jimson Weed, not a moonflower. Moonflower=Ipomea.

  • that's a very beautiful plant

  • Cool...my first one ever, just opened. Didn't know they were hallucinogenic, or that they bloomed so fast until I checked out the YT real-time video someone posted. I went outside (it's dark now) to find the opening bud I saw by the door had unravelled to a bloom. By now, it's probably more firm.

Could I use your song at open-mic?

  • @chernobylFarms I wrote the parody lyrics, but the tune is about forty years old. It would be interesting to see how many people noticed the substitute lyrics at an open mic. My datura plants are blooming, but insects have hit them pretty bad the last couple years!

  • this is the mexican version of the datura stramonium:the datura inoxia, very potent.Don't take this this plant makes you crazy.

  • way to twist cat stevens(:

  • I saw a guy in India on Datura, and believe me he had absolutely no fucking idea where he was, talking to non-existent people. all kinds of weird shit. He was sensible enough when he was straight to have arranged for someone straight to stay by his side throughout. Just a few weeks before someone else had died on datura: they drowned after falling into a well.

  • dont listen to mysticlure steps turned into walls for me.that means parking garages could turn into curbs i got lucky with this shit PLEASE stick to shrooms LSD hell i think crack would be safer than this shit

  • People must be careful with this plant! Take the time to grow the plant so you may prepare yourself for the trip to come. It is used to communicate with the past, see the future all while conveniently awakening again in the present. The "imaginary" people are not so imaginary. They are the energy remainders of previous souls that have been here. This plant opens your eyes to see through linear time. If you do too much you will be gone too and become someones "imaginary" person, pun intended.

  • @mysticlure wow lol ^

its not a good idea too mess with your soul...ive done it and not come back for weeks :\... dont do it! ! ! ! ITS NOT FUN~dry mouth`cant eat`cant move`sleepy`DRY MOUTH`SHADOWPEOPLE!`~~~its scary to see yourself in another world carefull trippers with this one....remember ~the guy above me is CORRECT

  • POISON....thas's it

just poison, not a good chemical

  • it's a beautiful video.

  • Comment removed

  • koolz

  • Datura is really bad your trip is just crap. I know people who took it and said it was just torture your hallucinating and you want it to stop your mouth feels like it's gonna crisp off from the intense cotton mouth. It sounds terrible you might as well just go do LSD or shrooms both are better and not poisonous like this shit.

  • @nixonskater5 DATURA is rubbish........thats why Shaman all over the world since time immemorial have used it to access the spirit world and gain wisdom.

i guess a knowledgeable shaman isn't as vulnerable or foolish as an american teenager

  • is 30 datura stramonium seeds likely to kill you? i need to know ASAP someone please!

  • Fuck yeah. Datura is highly poisioness. When you take it you dont know how potent the poison is so its basicly a 50 50 chance of death. Plus it has the highest percentage of bad trips out of all the etheogens.

  • it's the strongest delirium in the world. I've read a trip report of a guy who took 50 seeds while not even knowing what he was. he ended up in jail and he thought he was in his dad's car with his dad while he was in the cop car.. seriously.. if there is ANY drug you should'nt even think of taking it.. it's datura.

  • @koenkerkdriel While you raise a point, I gotta correct you. It takes AT LEAST 1 pod to mess someone up, 50 seeds wont do shit. If it does it'll prolly just be a head change.

  • @guitarmaster123445

WRONG WRONG WRONG, YOU DONT NEED A POD TO GET MESSED UP IT CAN BE LESS THAN THAT, THE AMOUNT VARIES FROM PLANT TO PLANT careful what you write on here

  • @fancygremlin I can't believe I posted that before. Lol thank you for correcting me! :)

  • @psychedelicXdreams obviously ur dead ur accoutns gone

  • make a video of you eating a bunch of them!;)

  • That would be rather pointless... but thanks for the comment!

  • no it wouldnt ud be tripping and it would be fun

  • here in modesto this shit grows every were. right by my school their fields of this shit.

  • HAHA I know what your saying.. My entire town has them planted from end to end down main street. 100's of them

  • LOL

  • @Brett3505 WHAT CITY lol

  • you mean oleanders i guess. i remember hearing that datsura is jimson weed and poison to horses and other livestock. not sure if that's correct

  • jimson can kill a herd of cattle and 3 kids died in england in 1997 accidenttally ingesting the flower in their tea

  • i got a volunteer in my garden and it's enormous and blooming so i looked at videos to confirm and i find this one and all these amusing and hateful comments. quite hilarious. anyway, any suggestions as to what i should do with my plant?

  • I have several in my backyard. Once one plant goes to seed you'll wind up with hundreds of little plants. The flowers are quite nice and the seed pods are really interesting looking. I'm not 100% sure of the legality of cultivating datura (or allowing it to grow) since some people do experiment with the plant. (But orleanders can cause death if ingested and they're quite common and so I'm not sure what the legal logic would be... legal logic... now there's an oxymoron!)

  • eat it

  • People are gonna die thanks to you. That's the simple fact of the matter and you're prepared to defend it.

How could you be so evil?

  • No, you're wrong. Stupid people are responsible for their own stupid decisions. This song portrays a character who is into experimenting with datura as a way to get high in a somewhat negative light. I agree that there are some people that are so stupid that they would somehow see this song as an endorsement of the use of datura as a way to experience a drug induced high... but there is no accounting for the stupidity of such individuals!!!

  • If we only express ideas that even the dullest dim-wit can comprehend, then there would be very little left to say. If we only express ideas in a manner so clear that even the least intelligent people can understand, then there would be little point in saying anything. Ideas should be challenging and the way that they are expressed should be open to interpretation.

  • People could die thanks to your fukkd up misinformation, Congratulations fucktard

  • Apparently you didn't read the written description accompanying this video. Perhaps your comprehension of the English language is deficient. At any rate, my recommendation is that you try to overcome your obsessive habit of being critical until you develop your language comprehension skills sufficiently so that you can make an intelligent comment!!! Have a nice day!

  • fuck off dickhead if you drink too much juice you die. You are an irresponsible monster with no friends. Now FUCK OFF I say.

Grow a brain while your at it.

(& don't go checking my spelling either)

  • How pathetically desperate you are! A simple apology would have at least made it appear that you had some redeemable qualities and at least a hint of intelligence. Instead you take the way of the coward and resort to insults. You cannot match wits with me and so you simply whine and sputter. On top of that you use a sock account to launch your attack. Please view my "Celebrate the Hate" video for further instruction, lowly ankle-biter!

  • It's a delieriant, and a poisenous one that can easily kill you or leave you fucked up for life. 90% of trip reports end up in the hospital or arrested, 8% are never seen again and 2% live to tell about it without any negative side effects

  • lmao you're a retard. moonflower is where LSD comes from. you have to extract it from the plant. and that whole percentage shit is wrong completely. the only time acid has ever been harmful is when kids dont have sitters and people do dumb shit like stealing someone thinking it was a lawn gnome(true story) while tripping.

  • you need to read up on your drugs, lsd does not come from jimsonweed, lsa the precursor of lsd comes from the seeds of the morning glory plant, then the precursor is added to an ergot extraction. at no point does jimsonweed come into play. but i do agree with you that acid is physically harmless, but the previous guy is absolutely correct about the dangers of jimsonweed or "moonflower"

  • actually, you're both wrong, l.s.a is produced by extraction from HBW seeds, as well as morning glorys and other assorted seeds, but lsd has nothing to do with lsa, lsd is grown on rye wheat(ergot)

  • Excuse me for my drug faux pas, I appreciate the correction, but none the less LSD has nothing to do with moonflower

  • isnt it come from magic mushrooms?

  • naw, thats psilocybin

  • By the way, funny song, but nice too.

  • Yeah, it is a beautiful plant, but very dangerous. A former teacher of mine told me a friend of his decided to boil and eatsome these plants. He had horrifying hallucinations for several hours. His friend had completely fried his brain. He is now in some sort of hospital, sitting in a wheel chair, drooling, and has to wear diapers.

  • My botany professor in college told a story about kids who'd take the roots and put them in a blender with orange juice. The result was a tremendously slow and painful death. There's really no lesson to be learned here other than that are tons of ways that stupid people can kill themselves!

  • Very true.

  • the roots are the strongest part, or at least so ive heard (wink)lol

  • "the possibly mythical hallucinatory properties of Jimsonweed". It IS NOT A MYTH. I've done it four different times, and I was utterly out of my mind, talking to invisible people. You get unquenchably thirsty, your hands swell up like sausages, your pupils dilate 'til they fill your whole cornea, and you pretty much black out for 24 hours- punctuated by occasional fun with invisible people and disembodied voices. Not a myth at all.

  • I bet the majority of people who are calling Datura or JimsonWeed deadly because they saw it on CSI.

  • Shut up in advance, SlanderBOT.

  • Your moonflower video SUX!

  • Wow! You started an account today, just to anonymously make that comment. I feel special!

  • I don't care dude, you shouldn't encourage people to get totally trippin on moonflowers, They ARE deadly. They poison many people who experiment with them. You musta been totally trippin' when you made this aren't I right dickhead!

  • No one is encouraging anyone to do anything but think! The song is a parody. If anything I am making fun of the character I portray in the song... think!!! Most people recognize that!!! You are seriously deficient in terms of cognitive ability if you fail to see that!

  • People die thanks to idiots like you. Don't eat them kids they are deadly!

  • Did you bother reading the description that accompanies the video? Apparently not. Which makes you one of those knee jerk half-wits that criticizes before thinking... assuming of course that real thought is something you are actually capable of in the first place...

  • alright, i highly reccomend that no one experiments, some kids from my school did and 2/3 teenagers went into comas, the other dead.

  • jus be careful whoever tries this and it doent giv a very pleasant high like cannabis

  • be careful cuz any datura is extremely poisonous it will stop u from peeing and crapping for a long time and the reason it makes u trip is cuz its poisonous!!!!lokk it up on wikipedia or newhere else

  • i recoment for no one to ever make tea out of this plant i did and i black out and was hullicanting for 3 days in a hostpital

  • Erowid is an online library containing thousands of pages of information about psychoactive drugs, plants, and chemicals, including entheogens, psychedelics ... It's vast.

  • I like the erowid site. Thanks for sharing that one!

  • This video song is irresponsible.

This is one of the most dangerous herbs. You DONT do it for a high!!! You do not get a euphoric buzz from it in any way. There is too much to say about this plant in the short comment box.

  • It helps if you read the description that accompanies the song/video. I realize that you are one of those people who like to comment in a knee jerk manner without reading the description that provides context, but that is no excuse for such a lame comment!

  • I work in a prison and the powers that be decided to hire someone to come in and landscape the place. They planted these things all over and it wasn't long before we were sending guys to the hospital TRIPPIN'. This stuff will KILL you if you guess wrong about the dosage. Didn't look like they were enjoying the buzz at all.

  • Heh, morons. You arn'r supossed to do things like this to get a "buzz", if you can call it that. Datura was reserved for experianced shamen for a reason in the old cultures where it wasn't about feeling good to do these plants.

  • You are right. This would get people in very bad condition and increase their prison terms!

  • I will try it...eventually. The flour has less alkaloids then the leaves and roots, so you would need a lou to say, wander out and be hit by a bus. It is toxic to eat, smoking, noone knows. Some think it is like tobacco(eating ciggerets wil kill you). Be careful, explore your mind, respect the plant, thank the earth.

  • Eating cigarettes won't kill you, unless you eat 10x more than it takes to kill you by smoking.

  • Yes it will...goddamn...people have killed themselves by doing it.

  • do u use it as drugs?

  • Read the video description and if you still have questions go to WikiPedia as suggested in the description. (Some people experiment with this plant, but very few have experiences they would wish to repeat.)

  • This song is a sic parody any1 know where i can download it??

  • I've never posted an MP3 for this song since it's just a parody and I did such a horrendous job singing it! But I have a ton of other songs posted at my website (see my profile).

  • morningglory on erowid they say moonflower is a common term for datura and morningglory i believe

  • Hmmm, learn something every day. I was only aware of the morning glory called 'moon flower.'

  • hahaahahha that foool was triping on a mooon flower

  • Good song, terrible singing. ALso, moonflower is a species of morning glory...never heard the term used to refer to datura sp.

  • There is another plant that looks like the morning glory except it opens at night and it is called a moon flower. However it is a common name. Datura are also sometimes called moon flowers. For resons like this, scientic names were made.

  • terrible song

  • So?

  • There some drugs that should never be tried this is one of them along with Belladonna and Henbane. These aren't hallucinogens they are deliriums.

  • haha Wikipedia provides a link to this video XD

  • I did a Datura tea in the eighties, I was tripping for 3 days, talking to people that weren't there, having imaginary parties with guys that kept vanishing, I was totally out of control. I count myself very lucky I wasn't killed, injured or busted while intoxicated. Never ever again, this stuff is just way too heavy!

  • The two species of Jimson Weed found in the Mojave Desert according to "The Jepson Desert Manual" are listed as Datura discolor and Datura wrightii. This specimen appears to be D. wrightii. D. inoxia is mentioned in "A California Flora and Supplement" by Munz in association with D. meteloides and both are, I gather from his discussion on page 95 of the supplement that was added in 1968, previous designations for D. wrightii.

  • Is that Wrightii or Inoxia?

  • This video made the front page of drugnerd(dot)com on March 15, 2007. Pretty cool!

  • check out my video about moon flowers to learn the not-so-funney side of this flower contains within

  • Wikipedia also has a lot of interesting information as do many native plant books. BTW, your video is quite good.

  • Amazing vid and great re-invention of Moonshadow.

  • Stay away from this shit.

    Seriously.

    ._.

  • Ha ha thats a pretty cool video. That plant is beutiful. What is that crazy song?

  • Atropine and Scopolamine. They are both very deadly toxic delariants.

  • Absinthe? I don't know about that? The chemicals that cause the hallucinations are said to be atropine or scopalamine depending on which species of Datura you're talking about.

  • i didn't know datura was that big...or is that a tree datura? i wish i could grow some but i don't want my dog getting near it...

  • These guys were maybe three feet high, but they spread out to a diameter of about seven feet. Usually in the wild they aren't quite this big, but sometimes they are depending on available water.

  • I don't know what it is about Daturas and Brugs but they really do have an intriguing presence to them. I have much respect for these plants

  • I have two Brugmansias i just bought on ebay a few weeks back. They rooted from cuttings and i got them in the mail about four days ago. I potted them the first day i got them and they are doing pretty good. I cant wait until the flower.

  • hahah worst idea of my life!

  • It's not mythical. Datura put me into a state of dementia for a few hours once. NOT FUN OR SAFE. Not colorful, magical, or happy at all, as many thrill seeking kids seem to think. I've seen a bunch of videos here of kids playing with hallucinagenic plants. I will never play with them again. My family and I are plant nerds too. We have a variety of different daturas at home. Just for looks now though.

  • They do well out here in the desert and they are easy to care for and so I have a few in my backyard.

  • very funny parody of moonshadow. lol

  • Thanks zoologynerd... I've had a few people who actually thought I was serious... I guess they aren't familiar with the works of Cat Stevens or whatever his new, Muslim name is. BTW, I'm a bit of a plant-nerd in case you didn't notice.
