hey just wondering, did you take your (how to make a silicone mask) video off? i cant find it.. altho i could be dumb and just not looking through all of your videos lol.. i LOVED that video.. maybe you should make a new one?.. i was thinking.. maybe a ghetto way of making a detailed silicone mask, let me private message you and see what you think
Ive sculpted a large detailed helmet in chavant clay. A little bigger than this head. I would like the finished product to have strength and take abuse. Would this technique work and what Can be cast within this mold that would get me that result. These videos are so cool. Thanks again!
A place in Texas called BITY Mold Supply. They make great how to videos, have a showroom in dallas, and an online store. Follow the link at the end of the video!
How thick does the finished result get? I'm planning an exploding head effect, and i'm thinking of covering a plastic mannequinhead I have with one layer of Gel-10, so it needs to be pretty thin to fully burst.

Without seeing the part it is hard to say, but I have used this technique to mold many "head sized" objects.

A thin layer with no thixo is about 1/16th inch.

OK I think it would be about 32oz given 4 8 oz batches. Which results in about 2 pints of gel-10

how much total gel-10 would you say you used on this?
