Every hunt is senseless & without honour. Hunting is wrong. Sick. Evil. I don't care what people say about it being an 'interest' like soccer or whatnot. It's a disgusting one&any form of hunting should be illegal. If someone thinks it is for 'population control' - that's ridiculous. How many humans are on this earth? 7 BILLION & COUNTING! And it's cruel, unfair &unjust too - it's not like all 7 billion have equal wealth etc. Ridiculous. Let nature take its course in the animal world - W/O GUNS!

I find it amazing that Hope was even more comfortable with Gordon, allowed him more access even than Dr Lynn. She obviously decided Gordon was her human. So sad to see her gone. I can't imagine how Gordon feels.

blessings & love little one....BTW, it was mentioned a day ago in a comment Hope was shot & killed on the 23rd of Sept. [this week],....however, for the record it was finally confirmed yesterday, Tues. 27 Sept, from the hunter,he admitted that he shot & killed Hope when she came into his bait site 12 days earlier, on Friday night 16 September 2011....so very sad...she was still nursing with her Mother & younger sibling, therefor, IMHO....her killing this year was sensless & without any honor.

Hope has been shot and killed by a hunter who lured her with bait, and then picked her off. What a coward. No words can convey my disgust, as it seems he targeted her specifically. See Lily the Black Bear on Facebook. Very, very saddened.

This is such a gift and the only thing that has been able to silence my tears since learning that Hope is missing after slipping her collar several times. It is heartbreaking since this is hunting season. I am devastated and this video has been such a comfort. Thanks for sharing this miraculous little angel with us and for being there for her during her time of need.

I have just been watching this in BBC2 and the only thing that spoiled it for me was the idiot hunter at the end bragging about how he "was gonna get himself a big bear" Does he think it makes him a big macho man that he can shoot a bear? Gordon Buchanan and his friends can get a fully grown bear to eat out their hands! That is FAR more impressive than some trigger happy jerk with a gun. From feeding swans and pigeons by hand, I know how amazing it is to get wild creatures to trust you.

I cried more than 5 times over the show, especially the last one in which Lily and Hope were found united. Also, when Gordon brought Dave the hunter to visit Lily and Hope, the tough guy was genuinely touched. The documentary was well made and inspiring. In my own country, China, black bears are also endangered by thoughtless hunting of the bears, mainly for special diet or Chinese medicine. I would like to suggest Gordon to come to China and help campaign for the bears in this country.
