(DONNIE573)..Evidently u neva heard Buddy Guy play the guitar.Buddy is one of the best blues guitarist in the world.Eric Clapton calls him the best ever!!!..Take a hint..buy some Guy cd's and listen with your ears.
Quinn, is a Wonderful, Guitar Playing Tender Roni! He is Awesome! He is Amazing! He is The Best Guitar Player of that young age, ever! You Go "Litlle Tender Roni" !!!!
I saw this kid last nite with buddy guy . He knows what to play, when to play and how to play it. He's easily better than Buddy Guy. Or at least I'd rather listen to him play guitar than buddy. Obv buddy is a legend but never known for his guitar playing prowess.
Quinn is good, but he needs to learn to leave some space. His chops are their, but the music needs to breathe. It also seemed like Buddy was trying to get some licks in but couldn't. I could be wrong their though
Man that kid can play good, makes me both want to stop playing cause I don't know if I could get that good, and makes me want to practice harder so I don't look like a sap compared to a 9 year old kid : )
Stop writing comments on how "Amazing" Quinn is. It is crystal clear that those who think this kid is some type of prodigy or even a great player have either never heard another song or live in a cave that just picked up some wireless. Watch the videos of 12 year old JOe Bonamassa and you will learn how terrible Quinn is. I guarantee you that the drummer and bass player in the video above hate Quinn. Raise your standards people.
Hey bluesmanjames - you're an asshole! I'd like to see how you size up to this 9 year old. What were you doing at 9 except trying to figure out where you dik is?
1st. Obviously you did not watch the Bonamassa vids. 2nd. You can't spell dick let alone manage a task like finding your own. 3rd. I am eight years old.
I totally agree with bluesmanjames. The hype surrounding this kid is way too large. He is less than mediocre for his age and clearly has no ear for tone. It's obvious that ChicagoProducers has never played an instrument in his life.
I agree, Quinn needs to quit trying to force it....its like he is just speed strumming to make up for the lack of improv that he needs to make the song well rounded. Comeon Buddy tell the kid what to do....cause he apparently doesnt know when to play and when to let others play! He does play alot of good licks, just doesnt know where to put them in the music with the singer! Too much of a good thing is bad...thats all im tryin to say!!
Quinn, Wonderful pickin' indeed! I play fiddle in your Dad's band, you remember me? Keep up the good work, I enjoy these videos of you very much. Your Dad is very proud of you. See ya soon, Davy P.
great player..as long as he stays focused and low profiled..the is one thing i am bothered though, he is playing same music all the time..but don't get me wrong, i am seriously thinking in breaking my guitar into pieces and start playing guitar hero from now on..!!!
dude what the hell is up with guitar battles? they're jamming together to make good music not against each other to turn it into a competition. nobody's better than anybody else in music it's all preference so you really can't say anybody won in a battle anyway.
Well all I can say is God Bless Buddy for taking the time and showing an interest in a child that he believes shows promise in the music business. Not many stars of Buddy's caliber would take the time or be bothered with it.
people who say the kid isnt good enough... he's 10. he's got plenty of time to learn band chemistry and how to play more than notes. and people stop bashing john mayer lol. he's the now, not the next 15 years, thats where quinn comes in. (maybe haha)
Buddie's just trying to keep the kid in the right motivation. The future will tell. He's got alot of growing up to do. If he stays with the blues long enough he will be a legend. Buddy knows this that's why he's taking the kid under his wing. All music comes from the blues Buddy wants to keep him in the blues because everything else will be easy if he master's the blue's riff's and progressions within that style. The music will pour out once those chords are mastered.
look at it from this perspective: today making kids stars is an income for the parents and future for the kid so they welcome their kids being passionate for sports, arts, music...etc 50 years ago not so much - you were not supported in one of those areas because it was never sure whether or not you could make a living. So the kid had to do this against their parent' s will...and how amzing is that for talent?!
I did not say that- but you cannot deny that life for a guy like Jimi to become what he was demanded much more determination than today life for this kid or others.
Do you actually think in todays society that it is easier to land a record label. You aren't in my field of music then. So many bands every year try to get record deals and 1% land those contracts. Back in the 60's record labels chased people like me and gave big signing bonus's and dope to sign you.
This kid blows john mayer out of the water. I don't know why all the great classic guitar players invite john mayer on stage. I'd pay twice as much to see this kid than to see john mayer.
all personal opinion i guess but they are both of an unreal level. this kid is on his way to making righteous music no doubt. idano theres hardly an occasion i hear john mayer play a wrong note. its abilities like that that make them great whether you like it or not thats still a fantastic and the most important trait to have along side of being innovative.
I was a little over the top to give Quinn some credit. John Mayer certainly has the chops. He rarely plays a wrong note because most of them are SRV's. I wouldn't call him an innovator as much as Derek Trucks or Buddy Guy, but anybody who is bringing a new audience to blues is alright in my book. I just hate to think that people in general are using Mayer as their only source of blues when there is so much more out there. Anyway, Quinn rocks and I didnt intend to bash Mayer. I own all his CDs.
ya but i recall an interview with Clapton where he claimed that people loved him because they thought he invented the blues or something just because he was one of the few to play it in England at the time. the main point here is that there is some one who comes before you that inspires you. you want to be like them so you take licks here and there from them. I agree that ppl make john mayer out to be something hes not but a good musician he is and it takes ear training to do what he does.
Hi Quinn, I wanted to share my newest video with you so I posted it as a video response. This is my first original song. I hope you like it. I love your song"Sing Dance and Clap your Hands"! You Rock!!! Can't wait to hear you on Buddy Guy's new CD, way to go!! I still want to jam with you some day, but I realize you must be a very busy dude. -Dana
But on a serious note....this kid is going to go places (like he hasn't already, playing with some of the greats). I can't wait to see what kind of talent he develops into as he matures. He's got so much going for him already in the areas of style and technique that it's scary to imagine what he'll be like 10 years down the line.
i cant wait for 15 years to go by and this kid is beyond a hendrix or buddy guy level he is going above and beyond places he could ever imagine,,,,eric who,,,,stevie well we wont go that far yet will we?
why dont all u haters go listen to 25 and 30 year olds who are nowhere near this good and post shitty comments for them instead lol kid is fuckin amazing and u dog him like its nothing - obviously people who know better than you know hes great so your comments are really insignificant anyway :)
To all the idiots out there who want to put this and other talanted kids down, Buddy Guy, Les Paul and the other guitar greats are not going to share the stage with someone unless they believe in their talent. We need to nuture kids like this because the greats we have now are not going to be with us forever and we cannot let this great music die out with them. So get a grip and get a life you haters.
thats wat i was tryin to say wat joshua9312 said he is not 9 10 now he is older n he still does the samething he need to learn control and learn the songs he just playin wit no reference to the song he been playing for years somebody should of taught him that if he suppose to be so great
He has too many notes. Make comparison to Buddy(alhtough Buddy is an accomplished guitarist)and you can tell that Quinn ha not much feel. He has good licks but has timing and tempo problems. Too many notes can choke the song! Buddy plays one note sometimes for one bar to emphasize greatness through greatness. Quinn has no connection to this field whatsoever.
I agree totally. Quinn is no doubt a child prodigy but he does lack chemistry playing with a band. If he learns simplicity with notes and learns not to over power other players he be good to go IMO. Kids amazing regardless though.
This kid is better than me and I have been playin' for over 40 years - and I may not be hendrix, or eddie hazel , blackmore, etc., etc., but I aint half bad and this kid ... How can anyone say he sucks??? Gotta be jealous I guess? huh? The kid is flippin' amazing!!!
That's what's up! But I don't know if its all the late night partying is catchin up to ya buddy you seemed just a little sloppier on this take. In any case I still gotta see you live before I die. Stay clean & gold ponyboy!and Thank you.
I love at about 2:14 he jumps into a solo, mid-way through a verse, and throws the whole band for a loop. He doesn't yet fully understand the chemistry of music, and how it is put together. His hands just move fast on the guitar for a young kid. Give him time though.
You can be pressured into playing soccer and suck at it, but musical families usually like to play music. I think a better way to say it is, he was introduced to the guitar at 3 years old. It's just like families of lawyers or doctors or police or firefighters or military.
texasflood93 said he's not sure the kid earned the right to play cos his father pressured him at 3.please clarify my thinking, how do you know the father pushed him did he tell you personally & if not your presuming. so it's irrelevant what dad did. Qinn still did the hard work & practice, so he definately has the right to be playing with buddy .you don't have to like what i say, just think about it."if you determine the price & pay it you to can get up there"so just go for it.
i wish my dad would have given me a guitar when i was three and not let me come out until i had practiced til my fingers were bleeding, cause then i'd be amazing
this kid aint lucky he earned it & the only thing that stops you from playing with Buddy is the excuse you use as to why you can't play with Buddy.so determine the price you have to pay & pay it or accept a life of mediocrity & be quiet
I'm not so sure he earned it. At 3 years old he was definitely pressured into playing guitar...but found he liked it. Having a father established in the music business also helps.
Did you even listen to this? This kid is gifted, loves it and it shows! No one can force you to do this! If he couldn't do it he wouldn't be up there with Buddy loving him, you moron.
I hope for his sake that everyone gushing all over him won't make his ego so big that he doesn't learn to play with some taste. Cuz right now he's a little copy machine and is making my damn ears hurt. But really amazing for a little kid. Damn.
Your teachers and parents must be so proud of your command and understanding of the English language. Everyone possesses an ego, you moron. Look it up. Just because I have an opinion that differs from your own does not mean I'm jealous or a loser or a bully. He's good. I said that. He has a long way to go. I'm sure he knows that and is probably more mature than you are. And learn to use punctuation. All of those ???? and !!!!!s make you sound like a 13 year old girl writing in her diary. Jeez.
Ah youre a failed musician!! Hence the jealousy!!!What did the child do to make you assume he has an ego??Hes not that good??????Really??? Has Buddy Guy asked you to jam with him???
They're both amazing, opened for the Steve Miller band at red rocks theater last night, I hate to say it but I liked them better than Steve XD

texasflood93 said he's not sure the kid earned the right to play cos his father pressured him at 3.please clarify my thinking, how do you know the father pushed him did he tell you personally & if not your presuming. so it's irrelevant what dad did.

What i would give to play with buddy guy...this kid is so lucky.
texasflood93 3 years ago 2
this kid aint lucky he earned it & the only thing that stops you from playing with Buddy is the excuse you use as to why you can't play with Buddy.so determine the price you have to pay & pay it or accept a life of mediocrity & be quiet

Damn.

its your brain trying to think making your ears hurt!!Leave the kid alone

"It's your brain trying to think, etc??" So funny at your age to have such a childish response to someone expressing an opinion. Wow.
landerq 3 years ago
true!! Silly to assume a nasty sour bully ,who is a total loser ,picking on a brilliant 8 yr old HAS a Brain in the first place.Sorry!!
karlrebello 3 years ago
