There are hundreds upon hundreds of miracles and supernatural phenomenon attributed to him but he always clarified that it was God not he who performed these. He died in 1968 and when declared a saint in2002, they exhumed his body to find that after more than 30 years, his body is virtually in-corrupted and he appears to be sleeping.

According to Wikipedia, he grew up in a family that went to Mass everyday, prayed the Rosary every night, and gave up meat three days out of the week for Our Lady of Carmel. He could talk to Jesus, Mary, and his guardian angel! My God! If only I did that!
I am proud to pray the Divine Office every morning and evening and go to Mass every Thursday and Sunday, but man! I would have loved to grow up in the time and place Padre Pio did! It is a wonderment the whole town was not canonised!
Padre Pio also didn't approve the changes from Vatican II, he would have also fought the Novus ordo if he would have lived long enough to see the efforts of heretics in destroying the Catholic Dogma, Liturgy and Moral.
