it´s an ALBUM tour!!!! 2/3 from amolad an 1/3 classics that´s normal and that´s the right decision!! they played only classics in 2005 Eary Days Tour! So what´s the problem? However, the gig was just fucking AWESOME! never seen a gig like this before! !!!
Bruce can't sing any longer sets. It would cause troubles to Bruces voice. He started to have some troubles with his voice on the 80's, when they had 6 gigs in a week. Longer sets would do the same.
Im a 19 year old maiden fan, they are my favourite band, but I think to play the entire new album and 5 other songs, is not enough, I know its difficult to please all fans, but maybe they should extend their set list... 15 songs...100 mins...why not 120? 135? I know they are not 25 anymore but bands like rolling stones, motorhead and saxon still play for at least two hours, why can't maiden? I think playing the entirety of the new album is a bad idea anyways
Pink Floyd: The Wall 1980 and 1981. They only played the album.
Dream Theater: Live Scenes from New York. Played the album then their classics.
Queensryche: Empire Tour & Operation: Mindcrime 2 Tour, played O:M all the way through then classics/O:M1&2
Concept albums and semi-concept albums work like this, it's a great album and you still hear the classics, in the encore. It doesn't hurt you to hear something different once in a while, otherwise the formula gets to you.
FUCK OFF. I think for all tours of NEW albums, they should play the WHOLE new album. And SOME classics. IF YOU PAYED attention.... you would've learned, that the only two songs they'll be playing anymore from the first four albums now, are Hallowed Be Thy Name, and Iron Maiden. They finished all that stuff with the Early Days tour, so get the fuck over yourself.
naa im not, im not stupid. im a huge maiden fan. im saying its true that when your an amazing metal band playing concerts on tour with a new album, you should really play classics more, then play some stuff off the new
I agree for the most part. But when the album is this strong and you have been playing those songs over and over again, some of them for like 25 years, its nice to get a change of pace. AMOLAD did that wonderfully.
the album wasnt their hugeset success. the golden years era was there best so they should play many "golden era" stuff 80's and all of their new album singles and biggest hits and a bunch of 80s maiden.
AMOLAD was a huge success. It hit their highest ranking in the US EVER, hit # 2 in Canada, and was in the top 10 in something like over 30 countries. Hit #1 in a lot of those countries. The band loves this album (probably why they pllayed it live) and the reaction to it has been amazing. The tour sold out almost every show, if not every one. The only reason the "golden era", as some fans call it, is held in such high esteem is because many fans grew up on that era.
The "new" generation of Maiden fans is coming in and they are younger and younger, therefore are growing up on stuff like BNW, DoD, AMOLAD. Maiden play The Trooper, Iron Maiden, Hallowed, Run to the Hills, The Evil, NOTB virtually every tour and they decided to switch it up with what they thought was one of their most powerful albums in a long time. AMOLAD was a HUGE success for the band themselves and the fanbase. Granted, There has to be a mix of new and old, but this tour provided that too.
hey... in 1984 when powerslave came out, nobody wanted to hear only number of the beast and the trooper...give maiden the respect they deserve. granted i would have liked to hear more of the classics and not the new album straight through, it was still a great concert just for the simple fact that it was maiden.
there touring the new album dumbfuck there promoting the "NEW" album ofcourse there gonna play more songs from the "NEW" album rather than some classics
