@MrJswans Yes, the difference was VERY noticable. It increased the torque substantially, but it still has reasonalble RPM at highway speed. One thing that was really nice...With that sprocket change I was still able to use the existing chain; it was within the adjustment range. I highly recommend it!
haha, I get what you’re saying, it’s usually after I get home that I start to think about what I just did. My fastest is about 170 on I93 in NH…..zx11
I love the sound the motor makes, and the bike is so stable at speed, Has the gearing been changed for top end speed. What is your mileage per tank. Looking to buy a SV1000 or 650 soon. Haven't made my mind up yet as to witch. I like a light weight bike, That handling good, But with the tall handle bars. Had a back problem and I can't lean way over, So I need a more upright riding position. Looks like your bike would do nicely. Ride safe, yl
I just got one 03 with yoshi pipes :D. I am not sure should I use standart 87 oct gas or premium 91 on this bike. I know premium is better but is it this much better to pay 20% more ?
Kudos to the cars in the fast lane that got out of the lane. They knew they didn't have to but they also know that encouraging a speeding motorcycle to weave in and out of the fast lane will ultimately be more dangerous for everyone.
Do you use clutch for the wheelies in this vid? Can't really get a good view. It looks like a power wheelie to me.. Anyway, nice vid :) Hoping to upgrade my gsx600f for this one soon! Cheers mate! :)
@MrCederia I use the clutch 90% of the time. The only time I do power wheelies is off the line; if I'm driving more than 20 MPH (which is almost all the time), I clutch it up. The bike has plenty of power to lift off without the clutch up to around 50 MPH, but I just prefer clutching it.
so sick bro!! that nj right?? is that the GSP? and if so i know how scary it is to go 150+ on the parkway especially on the concrete parts with all the dam potholes!! sic ass video tho i put on on full screen and took a ride witcha!!!
@detlions76 No, it is not the Garden State Parkway. It is I95 and I495 in Delaware. Potholes weren't bad, but the road was flying by pretty damned quickly for sure! I like to watch it full screen with the audio cranked up too. It makes me think "WTF was I thinking when I rode like that?!?" :) I must say it is pretty exciting!
Hard to tell for sure because the rider makes so much difference. From my personal experience, I can say I haven't seen any 750 that can touch me on this bike.
@InsaneSV1000s I have owned both a 2003 sv1000s and a 2007 gsxr600. dispite the fact that the sv was sooooo much more fun to ride the gsxr600 was def faster...so i would imagine the 750 is faster also....i would def rather have my sv1000s back though!
As an example I have a SV650s with a modified pipe and many of the turism inline-4 (FZ6 even Z1000) can't see me. Undoubtly the rider is the most important difference. :)
@lukeandjoshua YES...matched..both with TRE, air filter and yosh pipe(s)... all the way til the sv starts to top out...the SV also takes a gxr1000 out of the hole and has a quicker o-60...but well a gxr1000 is a gxr1000.
@lukeandjoshua tru..not on the street....the tre is the easiest most fulfilling upgrade..opens up 1 trhu 4..you paid for the horsepower..u deserve what u pay for in evert gear :)
@lukeandjoshua Timing Retard Eliminator..restricts your first 4 gears. lrts say your bike is 100hp..first gear you are allowed 65, second 75, 3rd 80...The tre makes the ecu believe it is in final drive thru the whole gear range.

@lukeandjoshua SV1000's have a lot of real world useable power, but a GSXR750 will kill an SV1000 in a drag race and on a track with equal riders on both bikes. Not even close. An SV1000 is closer to the speed of a 600CC inline-4 in terms of pure speed. Not to take anything away from the SV1000 though... they are great bikes and I own one.
@partyman6666 Just spent some time riding with a friend this weekend. He has a CBR 600. In a drag race, my SV blew his doors off. We traded bikes with same results, so that eliminated the rider factor. The combination of a properly tuned Power Commander, good pipes, K&N filter with modded air box, and the different gearing makes a dramatic difference. It would likely be different with a stock SV though.
@InsaneSV1000s That is a lot of modification that you talked about on the SV. The gearing alone almost makes the comparison a mute point, nevermind the other mods. I'm not sure how old your buddy's CBR is, but stock for stock, an SV1000 is generally similarly fast in a straight line in comparison to an inline-4 600cc sportbike, although the inline 4 will pull a lot harder at higher speeds than the SV would... especially with a fairing.
I agree, the SV 1000 makes 120 Hp which is more or less what an inline 600 does. Anyway, on the road I took 04 gixxer 600 when we raced. The is the oprice that you pay when you have a v twin bike. Less HP but more Tourqe. This is why Harleys hardly get over 100 hp and they have 50% bigger engine. But anyway, Harley losses a lot of HP because of the way the engine is built, but hey, they love the sound. This is way no custom Japaneses bike can have the same sound as harley.
Damn.. I have a 2007 sv1000s with two brothers carbon pipes with a power comander, and a K and N air filter..I think your pipes just blew my speakers..NICE i Like it.

Greetings,
Which windscreen do you have on your bike & does it do a good job of keeping you comfortable at ~65-70 MPH? Thanks.
