@PsychedelicVideos, I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that your comment sucks,but I will tell you that likely, most Americans don't suck! It just seems to be the ones that get into office! We are too intertwined with the U.S to start bad mouthing them and what have you, but overall, the real truth is, we could not survive without them, and they would be 'disadvantaged' without us. Let's keep it simple, they are an everyday part of our lives! I am a proud Canadian, but I know this is the case!

I don't understand why Canadians don't care that their Prime Minister lives in a pathetic house. The Prime Minister's residence is not even nice compared to the US Ambassador's place. I mean it is pathetic that your own comedians are more than happy to put down Canada.

It's not that we put down our country. it's that we put down our politicians. We always tease our politicians for being bureaucratic idiots. The past few years has been more of talk, point and blame in parliament. So our prime minister is afraid of spending tax money on home renovations. Plus the house itself isn't as nationally acclaimed as the White house is for the U.S.

The other thing you have to understand is that the Prime Minister's residence isn't really the type of place where functionaries would meet, like the White House. That's more along the lines of Rideau Hall, the residence of the Governor-General. So the Prime Minister's house doesn't have to be too nice because he doesn't have to impress visitors in the same way that, again, the President would have to in the White House.
