Donald Johnson looks as if he was the other boys' pimp. A fantastic drummer and somewhat of a solitary figure even in the more funk-infused realms of post-punk. Early ACR were most splendid; I never cared too much for most of what they did from "I'd Like To See You Again" onwards.
in 1990, i bought peel sessions double album, manchester, so much to answer for, and apart from mondays n inspirals, buzzcocks n the fall, the rest on it i hadn't heard, and i LOVED this, and it was my first introduction to a few more bands, other than joy division that came from manchester. i loved that album with a passion, but grrrrr sumone managed to nick it at a party :( i was soooooooooo gutted :( i'd saved up for it lol, and bought it from a second hand record shop in hull. :)
am so blessed to have been living in manchester during this period and having seen ACR live so often - I just with I could remember it a little more clearly, though the flashbacks are always spectacular!
Awesome, one of those grooves I remember in the backgrounds of around spring 82' or so. Never knew who it was at the time, so couldn't buy it. Thanks for the upload 'KTown' and thank-you Youtube. Top tune.
Who came first, Joy Division or this lot? I can hear where the 'Mondays' got their sound from!

This is what you would call a classic 45, 7" single, just brilliant, gets better every time I hear it. 10/10.
