  • try to update your driver dude

  • I've had a similar issue. Had 2 problems causing mine: one being that my particular board (won't name companies, it's not likely to be a problem) didn't have enough voltage to the northbridge, and the second was that I had a dying hard disk. Mine was 0x7f with the first parameter being 0x8. Seems like I've gotten rid of it for now.

No, I don't have an ATI card (I'm proud of my GTS 250). Just mentioning that's the same kind of sound.

  • 0:33 OH SHIT!!!!!!!!

  • ATI 4850 is most buggy graphic card... (sorry for bad english)

  • @gmoiasovghb87fa lol it seems we are very unlucky

  • Use catalyst control center and check default fan speed for your card, should be at least 35% fan speed my 4830 leaves it at 13% which was giving me problems. I upped to 35% or you can go 50%. Create a profile in CCC and set fan to 90% when gaming only add a shortcut also and presto. Now whenever you game fan speed will always be at 90% and you can disable when your done gaming by pressing the shortcut again. Message me if you need help. Just remember dont trust the default fan speeds ever.

  • same problem here... how can I fix it?

  • something like this happended to some of my games randomly like in GTA IV...when the game is on and i go to a strip club (LOL) or I go somewhere with the friends like to the perestroika and the videos are going this happends...in Sims 3 when i create a sim after few minutes it crashes to a black screen and the sounds are like in your video when it crashes...sometimes it scares the shit outta me...it goes randomly in any game and Im not really happy...but now i have even bigger problem with my PC

  • This only happens to me when I overclock either my CPU or my GPU too high... DAMN the BSOD scared the crap out of me. Freakin death screen xD

  • it can be a virus, i guess, you need to check all the files in your computer.

i have seen the same problem in other computers, first of all, check the programs that run at startup of the operating system if you dont known its sources deactivate and reset.

    good video

  • ATI 4850 100/35 points

35 - this card VERY BAD

  • @team1tr Really? Because EVERYTHING i have read/seen about it on several well respected hardware review sights say its the best card you can buy for under 100 dollars.

  • @RobertVsMars Me have 4850 sapphire first version.. 250dollars..... Clear air channels....

  • @team1tr Really who talks like this? Me have come on

  • ok, 1 easy step, underclock your gpu clock from 625 to 600 and you wont crash!!!

PS- I had the same problem but after i underclocked it worked perfectly!!!

  • i have the same problem, but some imes when i playing comes green stripes and the sound hang up.

wenn i overlock its very bad when i down´t overlock it is not so bad.

  • damn i get this with my xfx ati 4850 now i dont know why it keep crashing on crysis and sometimes when it doesnt crash i get poor performance ill try updating my bios

  • updated bios and everything is fine ;)

only update motherboard bios not the ati 4850 bios

  • nvm its not fixed i still get crash on any game here :(

  • right there with you.....do you have the XXX edition or the regular........512 or 1 gig

  • nvm i send my pc to a store they will check it out..

  • Wow it WORKED!

Some guys posted in the comments that its a Hard Disk Drive Failure. And its true! (for me)

    Here is my situation:

Games work fine, but 1080p movies do not. 1080p movies always crash (the same BSOD as in this video with that annoying looping sound).

But after moving the 1080p movies to another HDD (I got a samsung, moved them to Western Digital, both are on the same PC), it plays them fine!... Before this I would get a BSOD after 5-10min.

Thx man, almost replaced my 4850! ^^

  • @DjiEnn : i am glad you problem is fixed :D

  • thanks man i had the same prob on my XFX 4850 XXX ed stock clock 650/1050

i UCed it to 600/993 and it runs perfectly stable ..... The problem is totally gone...

    my specs

    AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.6 on air

    ASUS M4A785TD EVO

    4gig Gskill DDR3 @ 1333

    I TB HDD

    600w cooler master PSU

  • @mani1192 : thats great.. :D

  • the problem is back .....tried all possible freqz still persistent

  • @mani1192

aircooling work also at 4.4 GHz

  • OUT OF SCREEN MEMORY!!!! thats the good thing with two screencard (hd 4670 x2 = 2gb)

  • I had the same problem with my HD 4670, i solved it updating bios of my motherboard gigabyte EP43-ds3r (bios version F2) to F5. actully there were up to F9 bios update, try to check if your motherboard have such upgrades.

But remember that updating bios is a risky process

  • Hah, I have the exact same problem, except running Windows 7. I don't get the BSOD because the system goes black and sometimes resets itself. But if you can figure out a solution, I'd be very interested.

  • Go through all the comments you will find the solution. Also make sure you have the latest drivers.

  • Is it a passive card and you have bad cooling in your chassie? Overheating!

Try to play with the side panel removed and with a fan blowing at the graohics card.

  • I get this same shit and it pisses me off.

    Asus P5N E sli

    C2D E6550

    2gig ddr2 800

    GeForce 9800gx2

    330 gig hard drive

    650w psu

    antec 900

  • what chipset cooling?

    HIGH CHIPSET TEMPERATURE !!!

    ---

  • this isn't because of high temperature. I have set fan speed to 50% and the temp never crosses 80C even at full load which is quite normal.

  • Try updating your drivers =]

  • that problem have and i but i solve it the powersuply is bad cash a neww powersuply and you solv the problem thats all

  • and dont overlock you grafick

  • I get bsod's in crysis when i enable HD4870 crossfire... totally unplayable

  • I get this too.

  • probly you play too long and everyday......ofcos it will break..XD

  • 0:28 why has the game crashed?

  • ati video card

  • I ve got the same problem for 6 months now! UC to 600 mhz and all looks fine now. My mem clock is 993 i cant put it down in CCC 993 is the minimum.

  • you can from bios

  • mt hd 4850 had the same issue and i downclock it to 500/750 and now everything runs stable :D and smooth. my guess is thats what we get from getting the ati card and running it at factory overclock

  • I have this problem with my 8800gt... It works fine with everything but... When I tried Fear 2... I get red blocks scattered across the screen then the freeze then the bsod.

  • I have the same problems, it doesn't matter which game it is... i shit on this jewish fucking shit card...!!!

  • 00:31 Grey Screen of Death! XD

  • that would piss me off if you i was in the lead lol

  • well i am not really sure...i tried a lot of thing..finally i underclocked core clock from 625 to 600 MHz and it is rock solid now.. hasnt crashed once since :D

  • tried all OS'es from Win XP to Win 7

  • not OCing the card at all...this is on standard clocks.

  • I build a new rig, which included ati 4850.

All high performance games such as crysis & fc2 ran at 80 fps max settings. I turn the system off when i went to be turn it on i get blue screen, few days of working on it turns out the cards is junk. I install the video drivers on 3 systems using 4850, everyone of them.. guess.... after rebooting the driver install, blue screen on all systems. I returned it of course.

  • this happen to me on assassins creed game, try to check your files on hdd,i play also the witcher for about 5 hours, and no crash

  • I have an Asus EAH 4850.

My Asus EAH 4850 had the same problem, but it didn't work only by modifying the GPU clock to 600Mhz.

It worked only when I modified the Memory clock from 993Mhz to 975Mhz, so, now I have the GPU clock at 685 Mhz and the Memory clock set at 975Mhz.

Thank you very much for the idea you gave me.

    Thank you !

    Best Regards,

  • reinstall your drivers. and make sure everything is properly installed.

  • this happens to me all the time when playing the newer games, but the older ones like FEAR or COD2 doenst crash.

i cant figure it out. 9800GX2 Factory OC

  • try reducing the clock speed...sometimes the factory OC can lead to instability. Use Riva Tuner and reduce the clock speed by 25-30 Mhz and see if you still face the same problem.

  • i cant, it wont let me go lower.

  • oh thats crap then. I had tried a lot of things with my Radeon HD 4850 like disabling Catalyst AI, doing a fan fix, a core clock fix increasing the memory voltage from the bios...it was set to automatic and i changed to manual and set it...set the memory timings manually in the BIOS...so i would suggest you check out some forums and see what people have to say about this.

  • well i actually solved the problem. the core clock was set to 625 MHz by default....i just underclocked it to 600 MHz and i havent faced any crashes for a lot of time :D

  • i have a friend who had the same problem, i think it can be a hard disk failure, try another one.
