I have a serious f**** BSOD prob and its just freaking me out :(. I bought a new PC the spec are : AMD Athlon II X3 440 3,0GHz AM3
4GB DDR3 1333MHz D-channel
500GB SATA HDD 16MB
DVD+/-R-RW SATA 22X
ATI (VTX) Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 DirectX 11 PCI-E 2.0
MIDI Tower ATX 400W and yeah the motherboard is a : MSI 760gm-e51
and I always get a BSOD when I play some games like CoD 4 or MW2 or AC2, when I try to turn on my PC or even when I'm browsing the internet...Please help :(
I've had a similar issue. Had 2 problems causing mine: one being that my particular board (won't name companies, it's not likely to be a problem) didn't have enough voltage to the northbridge, and the second was that I had a dying hard disk. Mine was 0x7f with the first parameter being 0x8. Seems like I've gotten rid of it for now.
No, I don't have an ATI card (I'm proud of my GTS 250). Just mentioning that's the same kind of sound.
Use catalyst control center and check default fan speed for your card, should be at least 35% fan speed my 4830 leaves it at 13% which was giving me problems. I upped to 35% or you can go 50%. Create a profile in CCC and set fan to 90% when gaming only add a shortcut also and presto. Now whenever you game fan speed will always be at 90% and you can disable when your done gaming by pressing the shortcut again. Message me if you need help. Just remember dont trust the default fan speeds ever.
something like this happended to some of my games randomly like in GTA IV...when the game is on and i go to a strip club (LOL) or I go somewhere with the friends like to the perestroika and the videos are going this happends...in Sims 3 when i create a sim after few minutes it crashes to a black screen and the sounds are like in your video when it crashes...sometimes it scares the shit outta me...it goes randomly in any game and Im not really happy...but now i have even bigger problem with my PC
it can be a virus, i guess, you need to check all the files in your computer.
i have seen the same problem in other computers, first of all, check the programs that run at startup of the operating system if you dont known its sources deactivate and reset.
@team1tr Really? Because EVERYTHING i have read/seen about it on several well respected hardware review sights say its the best card you can buy for under 100 dollars.
@Snoop221 Me writing for fun. This cart very nice. Me have ^^ you look my xfire profile me playing all games full graphics.... im sorry my english very bad.. xfire.com/profile/toneturk/
damn i get this with my xfx ati 4850 now i dont know why it keep crashing on crysis and sometimes when it doesnt crash i get poor performance ill try updating my bios
Some guys posted in the comments that its a Hard Disk Drive Failure. And its true! (for me)
Here is my situation:
Games work fine, but 1080p movies do not. 1080p movies always crash (the same BSOD as in this video with that annoying looping sound).
But after moving the 1080p movies to another HDD (I got a samsung, moved them to Western Digital, both are on the same PC), it plays them fine!... Before this I would get a BSOD after 5-10min.
I had the same problem with my HD 4670, i solved it updating bios of my motherboard gigabyte EP43-ds3r (bios version F2) to F5. actully there were up to F9 bios update, try to check if your motherboard have such upgrades.
But remember that updating bios is a risky process
Hah, I have the exact same problem, except running Windows 7. I don't get the BSOD because the system goes black and sometimes resets itself. But if you can figure out a solution, I'd be very interested.

mt hd 4850 had the same issue and i downclock it to 500/750 and now everything runs stable :D and smooth. my guess is thats what we get from getting the ati card and running it at factory overclock
I have this problem with my 8800gt... It works fine with everything but... When I tried Fear 2... I get red blocks scattered across the screen then the freeze then the bsod.
well i am not really sure...i tried a lot of thing..finally i underclocked core clock from 625 to 600 MHz and it is rock solid now.. hasnt crashed once since :D
All high performance games such as crysis & fc2 ran at 80 fps max settings. I turn the system off when i went to be turn it on i get blue screen, few days of working on it turns out the cards is junk. I install the video drivers on 3 systems using 4850, everyone of them.. guess.... after rebooting the driver install, blue screen on all systems. I returned it of course.
try reducing the clock speed...sometimes the factory OC can lead to instability. Use Riva Tuner and reduce the clock speed by 25-30 Mhz and see if you still face the same problem.
oh thats crap then. I had tried a lot of things with my Radeon HD 4850 like disabling Catalyst AI, doing a fan fix, a core clock fix increasing the memory voltage from the bios...it was set to automatic and i changed to manual and set it...set the memory timings manually in the BIOS...so i would suggest you check out some forums and see what people have to say about this.
well i actually solved the problem. the core clock was set to 625 MHz by default....i just underclocked it to 600 MHz and i havent faced any crashes for a lot of time :D

Is it a passive card and you have bad cooling in your chassie? Overheating!
Try to play with the side panel removed and with a fan blowing at the graohics card.

this isn't because of high temperature. I have set fan speed to 50% and the temp never crosses 80C even at full load which is quite normal.

I have an Asus EAH 4850.
My Asus EAH 4850 had the same problem, but it didn't work only by modifying the GPU clock to 600Mhz.
It worked only when I modified the Memory clock from 993Mhz to 975Mhz, so, now I have the GPU clock at 685 Mhz and the Memory clock set at 975Mhz.
Thank you very much for the idea you gave me.
Thank you !
