  • Not every SNES game came out with the plastic protector

  • I really those what they're doing now with replacing all the good durable game cases with extremely shitty and shatterable recycled plastic cases with huge holes in them.

Does your country have those too?

  • Sorry for triple post, its bug on my ipod. -__-

  • @finngamer

    Thanks man! ;)

    Thanks man!

Hello finn, i want to ask a very important question at least for me. As a pc gamer collector, i have very tight badget to keep buying games, I have to choose what the most important games to buy, which is to buy new games (in this era 2000-2011) or vintage games like below 2000. I know the badget for classic games must spend a lot of money and its hard to play them (you know, old games for old pc). Which one must i grab it first?

  • @fathys1987 If you're on a budget, I'd say get the bare minimum of new games as they come out and then pick out the cheapest of the classics. There are tons of great old PC games that are just a few bucks each.

  • @finngamer

Finn,i want to ask about originality of each game that you collect. I heard you would't collect platinum series or greatest hits version of games. Is that was categories in "reprint games"?

Did you know Ubisoft was released director cut version of first Assassin Creed, Is that was categories in "reprint games"?

I'm sorry, i have to know what the best to become games collector in terms of originality.

  • @fathys1987 Well, everyone makes their own categories. I don't dislike reprints as long as they look good on the outside: I don't shun a GOTY or Director's Cut just because they are not the first printing. Mainly I just dislike the deviant packaging Platinum/Greatest Hits/Ubisoft Classics etc. have, so I don't get any of those.

  • @finngamer

Finn,i want to ask about originality of each games, i heard about you would't collect platinum series or greatest hits version game, is that game was categories in "reprint game"?

And did you know Ubisoft has released director's cut version of first Assassin Creed? Is that categories in reprint?

  • With cardboard boxes, you can fill the box with other items that fit, try to fit the best you can so its filled to the brim, then squish it into a shelf with other games next to it (I mean squish!) And by squishing, yes, do it, beacuse if its filled it wont bend or anything, so you can squish it back into shape, i did it with my Myst Anniversary for PC

  • You don't look how you sound.

  • Outstanding N64 Collection. All 100% Complete!! The PERFECT Collection. WOW :)

  • omg O-O

  • Hey finn. Can i have your N64 collection? Will happily trade my English premier league 98/99 season sticker book, which is literally 4 stickers away from being complete and i can throw in some old VHS tapes if your interested.

    Let me know :)

  • You did not reveal from Japanese game would then like to have to do it

  • I feel kinda of stupid now with my collection. I really don't collect anything in the box, I just try to get the carts and such in good condition. Is it worth it to "start over" my collection or should I keep collecting how I am?

  • @xAtomikTech Hey, whatever works for you. But if you feel kind of "incomplete" now, then maybe you should at least buy every game CIB from now on?

  • @xAtomikTech Good question man, I guess it depends on what console and what games you have and collect for, I personally love to collect complete NES games but I have tons of loose ones aswell, I would love to have them all boxed but some of the boxes are very hard to find and are very rare for example I have Bubble bobble part 2 cart only, I want it boxed but I am not willing to sell the cart just because I don't have it complete. I figure every game I have loose I will find the box eventually

  • Why collect silly kids games

why not just hit up mechwarrior, rainbow six, command and conquer, and doom type games

in the name of dignity and manhood!

  • Do you have a Game Gear?

  • wow you swore in this vid lol....

  • wow you like radiant silvergun ? :D that game and Ikaruga are one of the hardest vertical shooters ever >_< omg Ikaruga is insanely hard I dont think I will ever beat it on hard :))

  • i like collecting gba games and its annoying trying to open the boxs with out creasing the opening flap!

in america are uk pal games highly desierd over the ntsc american versions!

  • I still have the plastic casings for some of my gameboy color games.

  • thanks for your input and advice. i've been collecting for the last few years and sadly for a while i was thinking quantity over quality. Only the past few months i've been more willing to fork over a little more cash for a system in the original box rather than a loose system for example.

  • are you gonna get the plastic box protectors for your N64 games? you should!! they're so nicely presented already though :)

  • @Jaahhk Nah, they sit nicely on the shelf now. 400 of them would also be a it expensive, and they wouldn't fit on the shelf after that. :)

  • do you have the monster hunter series?

  • @2488terror No, just Tri, actually.

  • @2488terror ok should i get final fantasy 1 or 2 for my psp it will be my first final fantasy game

  • what do you do for a living?? just curious.

  • Thanks for the friend request of course I accepted, I love videos and collection. I myself am mostly an NES collector, but i collect just about any game I can find cheap, I collect loose games, and complete, pretty much anything I can get my hands on for cheap, lol. Thanks.

  • are all of the consumer information pamphlets in each game the same?

  • @Bubbasizer Yes, there was a unified pamphlet in North America and another in Europe.

  • @finngamer Thanks for the info I was wondering because I just scored on an amazing find of n64 boxed games, but some don't have the info pamphlet or the cardboard insert so I was thinking of keeping my eye out for lots of them on ebay.

check out my new video if you would like to, thanks again, and once again awesome collection, I have seen all or most of your videos, love the collection.

    Take care,

    Greg.

  • I have loved computer games from a young child but have never had a great oppurtunity to get a vast amount of games. However I am now trying to gradually collect as many XBOX 360 games as possible, and hopefully one days I may own them all. I currently own 334 XBOX 360 games, all complete with cases, manuals and anything else they came with. Hopefully one days this will be a super collection!

  • Right now my goal is to collect all the Gamecube games, so I just wanted to say you have an awesome collection of GC games, and I wish you luck in your collecting.

  • Hate older nintendo boxes. They just start to fall apart after a few years no matter what you do... :/

  • That is LEGENDARY that you have almost every Nintendo 64 game (or all?) with the consumer info, manual and "baggy" =D

  • it is so hard to find retro games that are all of the way complete with everything, most of the games only have game box manual. If you are really wantinga all of the way complete collection I would suggest buying factory sealed games because they are new and have everything inside, other then that good luck finding the game baggies.

  • I totally agree with removing the price tags and such from game cases. I see collection videos out there with stickers all over the cases and it makes me sad. Take them off guys!

  • cool collecting tip

youre rigth squashed boxes really pisses us of i like to collect GBA games but most of the sellers on TradeMe (an eBay equivalent in New Zealand) sells GBA games in crap condition (i can understand theres not that many hardcore gamers here) oh and theres no retro gaming store that i know of thats sells them suck for me

  • I want to buy every N64 game complete too. I know a seller on ebay who sells over a hundred games, so that's a good start for collecting everything. I've got only one problem though: He doesn't have every game complete with te baggy and inner cartboard box. He said he doesn't have enough baggies to put aside for my order. Do you have any tips for me or do you know somebody who sells these things seperately?

  • @SuperKirbyDude Good for you!

I contacted an eBay seller (named Sosafan2) to take aside the baggies for me to buy. I waited a few months at a time, because the baggies don't accumulate that fast.

  • Yeah! He is JUST the one I'm going to buy them from! Thanks, anyways. So I guess I have to wait a little while until he has those baggies and inner cardboard boxes in stock again, which I will buy seperately, then. I live in Europe too, in the western part ( The Netherlands ). But aren't those shipping costs incredibly high when you buy that much games at once from a far country like the USA?

  • @SuperKirbyDude Well, the games themselves are much cheaper, so it's worth it. But it's not so bad, after a few batches of 9 games (fits inside the airmail limit of 2 kilograms), he started giving me some discounts as well.

  • @finngamer Alright. Thanks for the information! =)

  • @SuperKirbyDude hey i have a whole use collection mostly loose but some have boxes if your interested email me at thedreamcastkid@yahoo.com

  • Very good overview of different collecting tips!

  • We are now peering into the mind of a genius.

  • @tvandlust Haha, that almost sounded sarcastic. :D

  • @finngamer Haha, of course not! :)

  • @tvandlust I know, just teasing ya. ;)

  • Awsome tips.

Ive managed to keep most things you would find in a video game from NES games to PSP games but 1 thing i realy regret is not keeping or loosing those little cases that the Gameboy or NES games come in. Tho i got lucky found a great deal on Ebay a couple of years ago 100 of those gameboy cases for £3.99 buy it now which i thought was amazing deal. Makes the game feel empty like its missing something.

  • You certainly know your stuff ,no matter what region...Euro ,U.S. and Jap.

  • Nowadays i only really collect import Saturn games. It's a bit of a double edge sword. On one hand it's great that they come in jewcases as they are like you said easy to replace. So when im buying games online i don't care about the condition of the actual case, as i will replace it with a new one anyways.

But at the same time there's something...unsatisfying about jewlcases.

When you hold a SNES box in your hands you get that feeling, it feels alot more like a video game.

  • @lostSUND4Y Yeah, cardboard boxes are a pain to collect, but that's why a really pristine box is even nicer. :)

  • @finngamer What do you do for a living?

You must have a very disposable income to buy all those games.

  • Thanks! My mass effect 2 case is a little bit broken, and I didn't even concider the fact that I could just take the sign out and put that on another case, thanks a lot ^^

  • Nice video. Just got FF VI for snes complete with maps and everything yesterday. I probably wont buy all my games fully complete :P

  • Hey Fingamer I have some snes games boxed and some boxed imports from Japan and I noticed some come with a small card a little bit smaller then a game cart that shows the snes controller with what looks to show what each button for the particular game does.

My question is did all Japanese snes games originally come with these or only certain titles? Ty

    PS Great vids =)

  • @DrGunz101 I don't think a card like that was included with every game, but there was this green or blue "how to treat your console" -type of paper with every game.

  • I had some trouble finding cases for my final fantasy 7,8 & 9 but a cd company i emailed was nice enough to help me out, so just ask around.

  • great video man love too see u infront of the cam in your newer videos!

  • i found some super nintendo games at a rental store by my house they sell them for three dollars and they come with all the maunals but they arnt sealed but the condition of the box is unbeilievable they look like they have never been touched how much do you think they would be worth?

  • @spymanr2d2 It all depends on the game, but most likely you can't go wrong with those prices. Snap them all up!

  • @finngamer well i believe one of the games was street fighter and i remeber final fight was in the bunch no mario or zelda

  • PS1 pelithän tulivat jenkeissä vielä koneen julkaisun aikoihin niissä Saturnin PAL koteloiden muotoisissa muovi- ja pahvikoteloissa. Onkos niitä kokoelmissasi paljoa?

  • @MetalGearShake Joo, ja Euroopassa ekat pelit tulivat sellaisissa pahvikoteloissa.

    En kyllä omista kumpiakaan yhtään.

  • i heard you can refurbish boxes

you have to put it in the water and then dry it

  • I'm afraid that if I try to remove any price tags or stickers, they will leave a mark on the case or the sticker will get half thorn. It would be very difficult to remove them clean.

    Great Video! As always.

  • @HonestGamer1 I don't have any stickers on my games, so it is possible. ;)

Cardboard boxes are a problem of course, sometimes you just have to live with the sticker or the residue. But plastic cases can be cleaned with the right chemicals, I use stuff called "electronics cleaner". Comes in a can, cleans up grease and sticky messes and vaporises without a trace.

  • @finngamer Nimenomaan pahviboksista. Täytynee uskaltautua johonkin vähemmän hintavaan peliin kokeilemaan varovasti jos onnistuisi :)

  • Great video as always, been waiting this second instalment of your Collecting tips videos. :)

Tell me if I'm wrong but wasn't there 4 cards in Ico? I just even check some actions from Ebay and it seems that they bolster my memory...

  • @6Damned6Corpse6 Haha, I feel like such an ass. :D

I do have the 4 cards, the other two were inside the manual for some reason. XD

  • @finngamer LOL, looks like I got you there. :D Damn sneaky cards trying to hide from you.

  • that's a cool ico box!!

the U.S. version is just a regular game-box with manual...nothing special

    thanks for the tips!!!

  • Todella hyvä video.

  • Which cleaning products are good to get those annoying stickers off? My local game store loves to put at least 3 on everything.

  • Very nice video.

  • You look a little like Kevin Spacey.

    :D

    Great Video!

  • Awesome tips

  • i think if his home burns... he will suicide ;S

  • @kekecom Insurance, baby!

  • You have fucktons of N64 games o___O;

  • @LeonSKennedy828 ah yea he has about... well EVERY SINGLE ONE EVER MADE IN PERFECT CONDITION!

    Amazing colection!!

  • @Myth1322 Well, not in perfect condition, but they are as complete as they can be. :)

  • Can you show us how to remove the price stickers. In Canada when you buy a used game from EB games they put a sticker right on the game case since there is no plastic wrap on the used copy. No matter how hard i try to remove those stickers they always leave a residue which really irritates me.

  • Thank you for all the collecting tips :D

but you didnt talk about registration cards for the super nintendo. do you know if all games came with them or just certain ones? and do you know if final fatasy II u.s. version for the super nintendo came with a registration card? because i know ff III did.

  • @KoopaTroopaCCC I'm pretty sure that not every game came with a registration card, and therefore it's quite difficult to find out which ones did.

  • hey again janne, 5 stars btw, i never told you i love your accent

  • your are the gaming don

  • Great video. Keep up the good work!

  • I really regret throwing away my n64 boxes, but ive changed houses several times over the years, and I guess my parents did it without me noticing.

  • watching this, I wish I could gop back in time and save all of the little nook and cranny's of my game/ game packaging.

  • Everybody better listen up to The Godfather of Games! :)

  • I would really like to listen to you, but I dont have the pockets to do so. sorry =p.

    Great vid though!

  • @Luigidude11 No problem, like I said, these are just my preferences. :) Everyone collects for himself, not for anyone else.
