@stickynotes He wasn't proud about them singing it. He saw how upset the Galexy Defenders got he isn't letting 1D do another one of his songs. They asked too do Star Girl and The Heart Never Lies and he point blank refused. One Direction's fanbase can't admit that none of there songs are written by them. ALL of McFlys songs are written by the band, as was most of Busted Wrote by Tom. So don't you fucking dare say Tom is proud of it. Tom regreted it.

@scotland911 i'll admit, i don't follow mcfly as much as i used to in 2004-2008 but i just remember him tweeting when they first did the song & how happy he was. i didn't realize how much hate he got from the mcfly fandom. what i don't understand is how everyone is so possessive. i think it was his decision to allow 1d to do the song & the reason why he wouldn't let them do other songs was to keep his fans happy. seeing upset fans were is probably the reason why he felt regret

I love both Mcfly and One Direction and I think both versions are amazing but if I had to choose it'd be One Direction's because Tom's singing this in the way he thinks the boys from 1D will sing it and the way I imagined Mcfly singing this song was way different, like I expected it to be similar to the songs on RA & Wonderland.
