It's too bad, Hans was kind of a schill. That kid he brought in for the sequence at the Port Clyde "fishing village" was a paid actor from New York . Notice how you don't see his family or anything. Just him, all primmed and procured for the track meet -aka- appearance on TV. And the two ladies in the next part, DEFINITE actors. Sad to see this in retrospect. Hans, you dirty-two-timer you! playing your little games while alive. There is just no substance in this episode.
@oatstao Where do get this crap? I'd be far more inclined to believe this episode than you. "Paid actors" .... prove how you know this. Looked pretty legitimate to me .. and I checked credits at the end of the episode. Nothing looked fishy to me, in fact they thanked the residents of Port Clyde for their help. Personally, I think you are full of it.
@stringbenderE2E A simple search to see who was paid by the union guilde of Film workers and actors will reveal you are up your own ass buddy. Don't come down on me without knowing the 'insides' of the operation you lap up called TV. So go look it up, it's all there, because of tax purposes, YOu may be a bit overwhelmed though and your facade may just impose hard on your mind. So that's the proof, I'm not going to go into the books for you, I gave you the method to expose the proof I speak of.
I was on John Edward's channel a few hours ago..and everyone was talking about how crap he was and a fraud..but Hans had the real mediums. THESE ones were ALWAYS right..no cold readings. They didn't ask questions "was this..who was.." etc..they SAID "this is who..this is what"...proof of mediums.
The Bible also condones slavery, rape, child abuse, human and animal sacrifice, misogynism, racism and homophobia, so yea..... not exactly the most reliable document on morality...
Ingrid Beckman is one of the most talented psychics I've ever seen, and this is the only place I've ever seen her. Anybody know if she's still around and what she's doing?
Back in the 70s, a talk radio DJ convinced Ingrid to come on his radio show and discuss this TV segment before it had actually aired, and this subsequently caused some sort of a contract dispute or problem for Holzer, so he distanced himself from her after that. It was unfortunate, because the best psychic mediums were able to publicly showcase their gifted ability with the assistance of Hans Holzer. I, too, have wondered where Ingrid Beckman is today, for she very obviously was the REAL deal.
Just another nerdy dude who found a way to surround himself with chicks. Take a close look at his enlisted psychic, Ingrid Beckman. Imagine her with a better hairdo, no glasses, and wearing only a skimpy teddy. Beneath all that tacky 70s fashion is quite an attractive woman. I'll bet Hans Holzer noticed it, too - the old dog. Drama happens between only the living.
why are her eyes closed? is she being hypnotized? Or just dramatic effect? You have to take Holzer and the psychic on faith because they could have learned all of this information before hand and staged this for the tv cameras.
Her eyes are closed to aid concentration. If she wanted dramatic effect she could have done something much more flamboyant than sitting still and closing her eyes. And she talked about the ghost's anxiety about not getting help from town and having to run everything herself. No research would reveal that.
Interesting psychic! Dang good! Back then there was no internet to look stuff up and that gentleman was probably one of a few who could lookup that info. Pretty Cool for 76!
Holzer is no part time plumber cleaning crap out of sewer lines. this guy is 87 now and still at it. he has been doing this stuff since the fifties. Before condemning him, why not read something he has written? He has many, many books out there.
I used to own one of his books, "The Ghostly Register". He wrote about the ghost that frequents our County Library. I didn't realize that he was still around.
Unfortunately I have read many of his books and they are very terribly written. The info contained inside is vrey interesting to me - I wish he would get a ghost writer.
Funny, no one questions the possibility that the psychic did some historical research about the sailor and the boat, etc. and fed these fools what they wanted to hear.
I'm watching these episodes and I'm realizing, a LOT of shows like Unsolved Mysteries and the other ghost and paranormal-type shows probably got their format and way of doing things from this show! LOL It's almost exact.
Well, simply, bullshit by any other name is still bullshit. Call it In Search Of..., Unsolved Mysteries, Ghost Hunters, etc. it's still bullshit. Although, I still love the In Search Of... series. It has a special place in my heart.
When these first came out I was young. Seeing them now all I can think of is "Damn I'm old"!

Hans Holzer himself isn't psychic, though, right? Just because some somebody is a ghost hunter doesn't meant they have to psychic to do it
