He died from myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart. This was probably brought on by his long-standing cocaine addiction, which weakened his heart. Right before his death, his brothers planned on making him the fourth Bee Gee and he seemed to have recovered from his addiction. A spark that went out way too quickly.

For the record, it was written by Andy's BROTHER Barry, who at the time was in the midst of a divorce from his wife and was truly devastated about it. I've heard BOTH Barry's and Andy's versions, and personally think it's ANDY'S version that really shines with a beauty that positively GLOWS! Of all the Gibbs, for me it was ANDY who had the most utterly GORGEOUS voice!
