We are seeing clear evidence proving why Obama has factually become the most divisive President in modern history: Because of Obama’s precipitous falling popularity, the NAACP has begun attacking average Americans who do not agree with the socialist agenda of the Democratic Party. By making pejoratively false “racist” accusations, the immoral left in this country hopes to stamp out civil debate
@islandmuffin Admittedly, I came to this page to hear the well-spoken John McWhorter's thoughts on various issues, but your negative comments caught my eye. First thoughts: you need to travel more, you need to read more to avoid parochialism. It is too easy to see the world with ourselves at the center. It's a big place with lots of variety in it, and larger things to fear than your own rather petty issues of today. My comment here will be dismissed by you. That's okay, but others will read it.
@talfasg I travel frequently & extensively. I speak 2 foreign languages fluently & speak 2 others passably. I’ve lived, studied & worked in 3 nations other than the USA. My MBA specialization was in International Economics & Global Business, and one of my three undergraduate degrees was in Anthropology (the study of culture), from a major liberal university. I grew up in a Spanish speaking community. I still conclude: Obama is the most devise (racially & otherwise) President in modern history.
@islandmuffin Obama is mainstream, and came to gov't in a difficult time. You could exchange him with conservative PM Harper in Canada and they would almost be the same guy. Every leader in every Western nation right now is merely a caretaker governor in bad times.
@talfasg Along with FDR and LBJ, Obama is the most leftwing president in US history. He is a radical Racial Marxist who requires racial preferences. His economics is redistributive corporate/government collusion, market interventionism, while propagating failed Keynesian deficit spending. He is the biggest spender in the history of humanity. He has fascistically nationalized GM, GE, the Home Loan and Healthcare sectors of the economy. And he agitates for class warfare!
I own a high-rise condominium in Toronto and I support Harper. Canada has a balanced budget, lower corporate tax rate and freer economy (per the Economic Freedom Index) than the USA.
Obama’s political strategy is to racially polarize the USA by rallying his black base who are tacitly used to demonize hundreds of millions of white Americans for opposing government’s seizure of the healthcare sector of our economy; And at the same time, Obama has been pandering for the Latino vote while opposing (actually in-your-face suing) the 70% of Americans who support the rule-of law for immigration and anything else. Obama has divided us by race.
Additionally, Obama (Our President?!) uses the derogatory term “tea baggers” to describe those of us who support minimal government. Has an American president ever been cruder, viler and less civil to his constituents?
When the President appears to condone the NAACP’s racial name-calling, actively opposes the American people, and continues to act as our least civil participant in the national debate, how can he unite America?
Because of the immeasurable economic and personal destruction that Obama’s record deficit spending has wrought upon the American people (for both the near and long-term); and because of Obama’s all out assault on the free market engine that created our nation’s prosperity that has benefited all of humanity; Obama has failed so thoroughly and completely that Hillary Clinton will get the Democratic nomination for President in 2012.
