    A#

    D#

Maybe you could understand... Or maybe not?

  • @mazzskater well he probably changed it up! cuz its normally played with 5 strings

  • @mazzskater john myung only uses 5 strings wile he plays it :P

  • Good thing Dream Theater copied Judas Priest.

  • It's out of time

  • Pretty Close

  • i have the same bass!

  • speed it up, please

  • Incorrect notes nab

  • @noobster504 he is only in other tune

  • there is aneasier way to play the first riff he does in the intro use on the d string i think itsthe 9th 11th and 12 fret the move down to the g string (pun intended) useing the same frets as i just said to do the higher part and ya it could be much faster

  • DURPEES HERPES

  • eww 4string tut pls

    thumbs up if u agree

  • really, it needs to be faster? no idea guys, shut up. regardless this is pretty good

  • WAY too slow :\ but good

  • nice dude thats dope , but i think 5 string basses are lame! :)

  • @TheKrabbyCrabLuvsPie Why are they lame? they are better becuase you have a whole lot more range now insted of just 4.

  • @gunlover19112 he is just hating dude cuz he cant get one haha =]

  • @TheKrabbyCrabLuvsPie yeah... explain pl0x

  • FASTER!!

  • i like it... just bit more practice and its just as good as the real xD

  • the higher notes would have been fine all by themselves but john myung had to just go and make this song beast

  • i wish i could put this on endless replay :D

this the only part of the song i like xD

  • Bass sounds sexy as shit!

  • I think you are playing the slow motion intro version but stills good.

  • yes you guys are right this could be faster but you know what i still give him kudos. well done. seems like he really knows the intro pretty well. great job bud

  • it needs to be tighter and faster, still really nice

  • use pick

  • Comment removed

  • @WallSpace pick? why the hell? he need to use his three finger to get the correct speed

  • @AdrianPE93 Why would you need 3 fingers? I agree you don't need a pick. but it can still be done with just the 2 fingers.

  • @MrChaos67 really man look at the speed after the intro, the intro can be really played by 2 i play it with 2 fingers but then i use the three fingers cuz it isnt that slow

  • @MrChaos67 Panic Attack to played 100% right needs three fingers,

Two playing the D string (or how ever you have it tuned) and one playing the G/ The fretted notes, as the Rhythem of the open D is very awkward and near impossible

  • @WallSpace real men use their fingaz!!!! nah j/k but serious though if someone could use a pick to play this song exactly the way it was recorded he/she's the man.

  • a little sharp

  • @Uberstor

    He's in Standard tuning i think (B - G)

    The song is down a step (A - F)

    I could be wrong

  • using three fingers on the right hand definitely helps with speed...

  • Pretty good. Could've been a bit faster though.

  • not tight

  • nice looks like you got it down but it needs to be a bit faster

  • hay man nice... that look hella fun

  • nice but u have to play that 2x faster nice :)

  • thats a 5-stirng

  • @RyanBurke93 naaaw really - u sorta need 1 for dream theater covers

  • awesome!!! I've been looking for a 4-string cover and now I found one which is brilliant...but this is not the original speed, isn't it..;-)

  • Nize maan !! LOVE this song !

  • The Notes Are To High!!!!The Notes Ar Lower In This SongQ

  • and also i've seen a 12 string bass!!! O_O

  • I can play that song with a 5 string bass and completely right lol.

  • i have a friend that play the bass over 6 month and he do panic attack much better than you and completely right..

  • No, he doesn't. My statement can't be arqued with.

  • @ekikoo excuse me but i don't understand beacause i'm not english...

  • why are people so shocked at a 5 string bass ,when they are viewing a dream theater cover lol.

good cover. could be faster though

  • Same bass as me, horrible bass if you ask me - selling mine after my Musicman gets here in a few days. But still, solid attempt at this.

    - Martin

  • 5 strings????????????????????????????????????

  • theres a bass with 4 strings ( like minee) or one with 5 like hiss

  • @rockeranimegirl12

or 6 or even 7, hell it keeps going up to 12 if they are custom

  • it has to be faaster

  • @xXTRiCkY182Xx stop saying that he must play faster... this comes after some hours of practise...

  • 5 string bass??? O.o

  • No, your mind is playing tricks on you.

  • There's some 6 and 8 too :D

  • yep ...

    there are 6 7 8 and 10 string aswell

  • alrght, needs to be a lot faster

  • A wee bit slow but great

  • nice but a little slow. usually goes alot faster.

  • the beginning seems out of tune but still good

  • read the description next time

  • Doesn't the heavy riff use an augmented 4th not a flat 2?

  • It uses both! Making it an augmented fourth power chord.

  • Ok I get it uses both, but why is it an augmented fourth power chord? Isn't it a locrian chord?

  • It has the augmented fourth and the flatted second, which are a fifth apart. Just two notes a fifth apart is a power chord. A "Locrian chord" is another name for a half diminished chord, which has a minor third, a minor fifth, and a minor seventh.

  • Minor 5th?

  • Yup. The flatted fifth of the chord. A flatted third is a minor third, so the flatted fifth is minor as well.

  • So the same as a major 4th?

  • Yeah!

  • OK.

  • A fifth note can't be minor since it is a perfect interval. When you flat it it is considered diminished. That is the same for the root, 4th, and octave. Only major intervals can be flatted to minor, and when lowered a whole step they are considered diminished. But, when you raise perfect and major intervals a half step they are both considered augmented.

  • okay thanks

  • but what if your playing on the delorean mode

  • that is one of my favorite songs from Octavarium, good job on the intro.

  • try speedig up the vid, otherwise, U RRROOOOOCCCCKKK

  • you dragged a little when you kicked into the main riff but otherwise pretty damn cool

  • try playing with click.

  • Get a six string bass and your set! nice bass btw

  • Nice, very clean.

  • Sehr cool! Dafür bin ich aufm Petersberg schneller ;) :D

Spass! ne aber echt sehr geil.
