The trailer seems a bit dull to me, in an (mmo)rpg game it has to be epic, more epic than this one is. The speaker's voice doesn't seems powerfull, the background music doesn't makes you shiver and the actual sound effects from the game are too loud considering the mediocre quality. Try compare with this one watch?v=vXWYWfFqlSw from the game Oblivion, which is most likely to be the biggest, best and most customisable single player rpg there is to date. I see and feel a great difference.

I think at one time they had planned to let you take a darker path, I distinctly recall reading an interview with Turbine CEO Jeffrey Steefel (hope I spelled that right) where he claimed you could be a burglar and rob other people's houses and such, needless to say thse ideas were scrapped but in this early trailer some traces of those ideas probably remain!

Btw i don't recommend this game. Servers are pretty empty, quests are boring as hell (reminds me the ugly wow grind), not much classes, poor gameplay etc etc. If you are fan of LOTR maybe you'll enjoy this game, if not - screw it.

Im guessing you played the 10 first levels or something? I agree it can seem a bit boring at first, but as you get to level 20 the quests get alot more entertaining, and unlike WoW, the quests mostly follow a well written storyline, and instances have small sequences and a backround, not just random hack'n'slash'n'loot.... If you enjoyed the PvE part of WoW you will definately like this game, if you're a pvp'er i wouldnt recommend it

@jegblirgal First. The instances/raids in wow have a ton of story ( lore ) behind them. So do the quests. They aren't random, they follow the history of Azeroth. I was just like you before some random guy told me of something called "wowwiki.com". I visited that site and found a lot of... information, you could say. A lot of weapons have lore behind them, and most instances have stories behind them. I like both pvp'ing and pve'ing, I got sets for both of them... I'm kind-of addicted.....

imo, rp in this game is better compared to wow, they've made it easier to rp with awesome graphics and plenty of quests in the game. Unlike wow were you might complete all quests and grind to the next area. In lotro you could find yourself after a while having gained a deed after killing many creatures, and also exp!

pvp can be unbalanced because u have to spend destiny points on new upgrades for your monster, so attacking fully armed players it can be unfair.

Social wise it has ingame voip, more premade chat channels such as advice and regional channels + more!

Ive a question for the LOTRO players..Is there a scritpted storyline like Guild wars with missions you MUST do to explore new parts of the map or is there not a real storyline like WoW?

Yes there is a story and its scripted very well, I mean your gonna go from the shire to mount doom fighting the ring wraths, orcs, dragons. Plus you can do side quests, you wont be able to do the story quest by quest because sooner or later your gonna need the levels and group for it. To answer your other question levels 1 - 6 you have to complete the story line to get to the new areas which is only 6 quests, thats about all I know for now.
